  • Does anyone have one of these that's lasted longer than a few years? I can't get a solid review about battery pool cleaners, it's really putting me off.

    • Pretty new technology. I doubt that there are any long term ownership reviews out there.

And any long term ownership reviews will be about old tech robots. Not representative of stuff on the market now.

A bit of a gamble but I bought one. Unlike my polaris booster pump vacuum, will clean walls and use less power.

  • Got one of these last month for same price. I am still unsure if it really does the job fully. It certainly doesn't work like the diagrams as in no straight line grid back and forth. It doesn't even go end to end it kind of goes all over the place turning randomly in the middle of the pool but it seems to somehow cover most areas. It certainly picks up stuff from the bottom as the basket always has something in it. They dont do stairs or ledges.

  • dolphin quantum is the way to go but hefty price

  • +4

Would not recommend. Purchased one a month ago for similar price. Left so much fine dust in the pool, missed leaves and often did wheelies (and no the basket wasn’t full and had been rinsed out). Was hoping for the best with them given the great price comparative to other brands. Ended up returning (whcih was handled very well tbh and fully refunded) and going with a dolphin s200. Wasn’t happy spending $2k on the dolphin but it is doing a far far better job. Even at the much cheaper price, the Aiper wasn’t worth it.

    • Pretty much the sentiment I came to share. I deal with pools (and robotic cleaners by extension) and most cleaners are landfill. Maytronics/Dolphin are still unmatched for performance and reliability.

  • Which cleaner does a good job on picking up surface floating debris and fine dust etc?

  • If you are after fine dust removal, get 30 micron filter: the cordless models can't do this. Can Recommend Dolphin with rubber tracks for wall climbing. Unfortunately expensive. If you get one also keep the cable out of the pool and sun (rinse after use) to ensure the cable lasts more than several years. And even though they are expensive you will not have to run your filter quite so long (but long enough to ensure sanitation is adequate).

  • I just got the Zodiac Freerider 1000, RRP 3099 but guy on Pool Owners Aus is selling them for $2400. Stomps over the Dolphin.

  • I bought one. Passed all my expectations! Love it.

    • Same. To be fair i never tested any of the expensive ones but so fsr i am happy with this.

    • +1 works great in my rectangular pool

  • Have a smallish 32000L rectangular pool with 3 entry steps, what's a decent kreepy krawly appropriately sized to keep just the odd bit of debris in check?

  • I should add their support over email is first rate too!

  • I am happy with mine and we have a lot of mess from gumtrees

Is this "Seagull Pro" actually the same specs as the "Seagull Pro" a few months ago? (Or the one reviewed or purchased by others possibly)

The page seems to have a runtime of 140 minutes, when it used to claim 180. It used to claim 130 GPM suction, and now it claims 80. Old pages used to claim a 9000mAh battery, but that's gone, and this might be 7800? The YouTube video on the page makes the old claims, but the specs beneath only say 80GPM.

Not clear if it's in stock either.

  • looks uncomfortable for cats to sit on

  • +1

Confirmed that the specs of the "Seagull Pro" have changed, this is not the same spec machine with the same name that was at launch and is in many reviews, it has a smaller battery, less power, lower run time.

That's a bit shady if you ask me.

  • I have a Zodiac MX6 and it's never really been great since I put the pool in 11 years ago. It climbs the walls too high and sucks air into the pump, if I turn the pressure down (as I'm meant to) it works for a random amount of time until the filter gets a little full - then the pressure becomes too low and it stops working. Thus if I'm not checking it constantly the pool often doesn't get clean. It also gets stuck on steps and more recently just flips upside down and doesn't move.

This was my long-story to explain I'd like to try a completely different system. Do you think this product would work for me? My pool is small at 2.5 x 5m, it's almost classified as a plunge, is this unit too big? I don't mind sweeping the steps but need something to grab the stuff on the bottom of the pool and the walls. My only concern is it won't pick up fine dust, I guess the solution to this is after it's got the sand & leaves is to turn the pool pump on high and let the kids go wild?
