OK so bare with me. The 'Wireless' version of these that you get from JB Hifi includes an unsightly cable that runs from a wall wart to the 'wireless' unit.

The 'wired' version is integrated into the wall, like a light switch. Which then became 'wireless' from an aesthetic point of view.

This version includes the Tado smart internet bridge.

The interface of the Tado is, in my opinion, the best on the market. HomeKit integration is seamless.

Until Meross make an AC split system model, this is the go to.

Hope it's useful!

Note: UK power supply.

I use a $25 Aliexpress smart IR blaster with my Fujitsu split system. It plugs into any old USB port and has its own temperature sensor.

It gets the job done, obviously wouldn't work with a ducted system but it's a cheaper option for splits.

    • But but HomeKit and no visible wires!

I use broadlink units in all the rooms with split AC. It was a bit clunky to set up (broadlink to alexa to smartthings to google), but it works for voice and automation.

If I don't wish to get naked with you, can I bear with you instead?

  • is it gonna work with Panasonic reverse cycle ac? mine is a central Panasonic reverse cycle that comes with a wall panel
has been looking for ways to do it other than paying for the MyAir

I don't think this is for AC, especially not for reverse cycle split systems that we have here in Australia
The wired Tado's seem to be for UK houses with central boilers, possibly ducted gas heaters

    • Yes that's correct, Tado produce 2 products confusingly labelled V3. This one is for controlling heating with boilers and radiators.

  • I just bought aircons with built in wifi modules because the market for these things are so inflated. (Over $1000 for 4 aircons retrofitted lol) but you can also get a broadcom version for $40 off aliexpress. Ive seen the sensibo skys as well which are heavily reduced in performance until you pay to upgrade. Safe to say the niche for these things are a rip off.

    • Which model did you end up getting for built-in Wifi? In market for fitting out three bedrooms with split systems.

  • "OK so bare with me"

You have to buy me dinner first at least.
