  • 7800xt is the card to get this gen, IMO

    • Literally came down to it being 12GB that made it not an option for me lol

it all depends on what one is upgrading from, I guess if you're coming from an 8gb card, plus a healthy bump in performance, yeah one might be happy with it. but for just a bit more, I reckon just grab a 16gb card and skip next upgrade, saving more in the long run.

https://www.centrecom.com.au/asrock-radeon-rx-7800-xt-phanto… was $799 this morning, then it went back up again when I check now

Pcpartpicker has the record of it going down, centrecom you cheeky bastard

    • They may be pre-empting a weekend sale or the like. Wouldn't be surprised to see higher end 7800 XTs routinely under $800 soon, especially since the 7900 XT has received a big price drop in the US.

Powercolor 7800xt one got good reviews. $799 free shipping.

I also agree 7800xt is the way to go for 1440p gaming. Its the diffrence of barely reaching 60fps with 7700xt and being comfortable over 60fps with 7800xt for 1440p highish settings.

  • The 7700 XT is so much better than my 3060 Ti.
I feel like at 2k the 8gb struggles to render at top-end with DLSS and Ray-Traving turned on.

    • +2

Yeah… and the 7700XT will do so much better with the RayTracing ON…

I paid this price for a RX6600XT only 2 years ago

  • Nice deal. I’d pay the $200 premium to pick this up over a used ex-mining RX-6800 for equal performance.

I remember people telling me prices would skyfall! ahahahaha

Rx 6800 for $500 15 months ago at a 'terrible price' ahahaha. now look, an equivelant 6700xt for $150 more! 15 months LATER.

      less is more apparently

    • That must have been ex mining though yeah?

      • and?

        • you won the mining GPU lotto

        • Well this is a brand new GPU, so you can't really compare prices.

Don't get me wrong I bought the same deal and it's been perfect, but you've gotta compare apples to apples.

  • The urge to jump from my 10606GB to this, contemplating a cpu buy too as the Ryz 3600 is slowly falling behind

    • +1

Get the 5700X3D it looks good, i upgraded from a 3600 to a 5700x around this time last year its a good upgrade.

  • This deal is back on till midnight.

  • Will it run 4k at 120hz?
