Straya!

We have some cheap tickets going for my show, Aeroplane Jelly, at the Adelaide Fringe Festival this weekend! We just won a "Best Cabaret" weekly Fringe award - come check out why!

The show is a comedy cabaret about growing up without a mould I fit into. It's pretty gay, features more Moulin Rouge covers than you can poke a Baz at, and a version of Chicago's Cell Block tango that I can guarantee you have NEVER seen before. If any of that makes you raise an eyebrow, we want to see you!

Here's a trailer, and you can find show highlights and reviews on my Instagram:

There are two codes - HOURELEVEN gets you $10 tix, but they are limited in number so get in quick.
If you're too late for that one, use DIETJELLY for half price tickets ($16)

7:50pm at the Secret Basement @ WEA this Friday, Saturday and Sunday night

Cya there legends!

This offer featuring song covers has nothing to do with "Gay Mardi Gras" (event) or "Moulin Rouge" (Parisian cabaret, the movie, or the musical). Please do not misrepresent your offer and spam our tagging system.

    • Hi there!
The show features many covers of songs from Moulin Rouge (the movie), and includes a prominent Mardi Gras sequence, not to mention heavy themes of gay pride throughout (as you may note from the linked trailer). Those interested in Moulin Rouge or Mardi Gras would be very happy attending this show, hence the tags I chose.

Additionally, I could not find any LGBTQ related tags at all actually so this was the closest I could get - if there are any you can suggest I would be glad to use them.

      • Tagging guidelines

If the deal is a product, do tag its

        • Type of Product. This is more of a sub-category, especially on a main category that might contain multitude of different types of products. For example “Laptop”, “External Hard Drive” (if posting under Computing), “LCD TV”, “Vacuum Cleaner” (if posting under Electronics), “Blu-Ray”, “PC Game”, etc (if posting under Entertainment or Gaming categories).
        • Brand. For example “Samsung”, “Apple”, “Arnott's”
        • Model Name, if it is a popular product that many other deals might cover it. For example “Samsung Galaxy S20”, “Macbook Air” or “Tim Tam”.

Tags are meant to categorise the deal or product, and not describe.

The use of "Moulin Rouge" to describe cover songs being performed in the cabaret and the use of "Gay Mardi Gras" to describe the cabaret being LGBTQ-themed are incorrect uses of tags. The type of product is "Cabaret, Comedy, Fringe Festival, Musical Theatre". "Moulin Rouge" and "Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras" are someone else's brand names, not yours. A "gay mardi gras" is not a cabaret.

  • +1

Interesting that this deal is upvoted by a random account which was made 1-2 minutes after the deal was posted and hasn't voted on any other deals

    • Half time entertainment perhaps?

Interesting that they created the account, voted and logged off immediately, only a minute before the OP logged off too…

Maybe off to rehearse for the show?

    • Hi, OP here! Which account is in question? The friend who suggested I post here said they upvoted the deal (which I thought was very sweet), but I was unaware they did not already have an account (and would be surprised considering this was their suggestion in the first place).

  • "Aeroplane Jelly"
Do we get free "Aeroplane Jelly"

    • Haha unfortunately not! But I’ll throw enough metaphors at you you’ll be just as satisfied ☺️

  • That booking fee…

    • I know, the Fringe set that, I have no control over it unfortunately. And it’s the same fee whether you pay full price or use either of these codes 😫
