  • Only.a few years old technology.

Robovacs have evolved a lot in that time.

    • What other features have robovacs have picked up compared to this one or ones of this generation? I have an Ecovacs N8 which is similar to the Neo, so am genuinely curious to know.

      • Auto empty docks
Mopping including clean and dirty water and detergent at docking station
        Mops lift for carpet
AI camera detection for obstacle avoidance rather than just Lidar mapping.
        Higher suction power
        Dual rollers on some models

          Not at this price point

Any robot vacuums out there that dont require wifi?

How else are you going to manage it?

      • +1

        MaccDogg speaks binary.

        • Bleeb boop beep boop

      • I use the force

        • seems to me the robot vac is an unnecessary middleman for you

    • Yes there is, the budget ecovacs range are usually ones that dont require wifi and will just bounce around the room until it runs out of power

    • Not sure if there are any that don't need it for setup, but my trifo Emma doesn't need it once set up. Just press the button on the robot and it starts cleaning. Only downside is you can't change the suction power.

    not a deal

It’s the usual Aldi price sure, RRP appears to be $799?

For what it is it seems to be a good price.

Have this from last deal. Good enough hardware for the money and cleans well if run regularly. Ecovacs mapping logic is woeful though, you must make sure your house is 100% tidy before doing an initial map. If any areas are obscured or if a door is closed it won't map that area and you can't edit it to add the area later.

On mine it will add "new" rooms to the map when it finds them..

      • Does it then allow you to send it to that room without having to do a "custom" clean?

  • +1

Have had this for 2 years. Cleans well and all, but it forgets the map at least once every couple of months, so it requires a new mapping of your house. Very annoying, don't know if this is common on other vacuums.

Turn it off using the switch on the vac, pick it up and take it to another room away from the dock and turn it back on.. I found most of the time it will restore the map

    • my 1-month old lubluelu lets you save maps. I currently have 3 versions of map ready to load and use

  • Mine is the same but it’s still very worthwhile. Two labradors, carpet

  • +1

How is this Ecovacs robot compared to Lubluelu from this deal that is almost half the price and with higher suction power? Is Evovacs a better brand?

    • I can vouch for lubluelu , great for a price

    • Lubluelu is very good value for money especially with the deals coming every few months. It performs the suction function very well, mopping is very basic.

I have used both. They're both entry-level lidar vacuums

      SL60d:
Better mapping - allows you to add new rooms and you can back-up your map then restore it in case something happens and everything gets messed up
Smaller so fits into tighter spots
Bin is a pain to empty and clean the filters
Moves too quickly, does not clean as well, cant get into corners very well
      Noisier
      Tuya-based
      ~60min battery life

      Deebot Neo:
      Better obstacle avoidance logic
Better cleaning, in most cases can get right into a corner
Horrible mapping, widely documented in forums online
      Surprisingly quiet
Bin and filter is better designed
      ~90min battery life

I'd take the suction ratings with a grain of salt, neither of these vacuums have particularly strong suction
