High refresh rate should come in handy when spreadsheeting

    • Spam that F9! Spam it real good!

jokes on you i’m a professional gamer

    • Actually yes, when looking for the tiny mouse curse dancing around a zoomed out spreadsheet.

Oh boy, I hope you never discover how we obtain minerals for the tech we use, how fast fashion works, or the plethora of other global issues which we choose to ignore because it's more convenient to do so.

He’s too cowardly to reply to you

        • +5

Perhaps, but I would say that they're just in the group of society who are misinformed, easily influenced and desperate for attention, so they blindly sign up to social justice causes that they have no knowledge of. Generally they have no capacity for critical thinking so they're also unable formulate any real response when anyone questions their mindless logic. At least in this case they're doing us all a favour by not doubling down on their absurdity and they've crawled back to whatever sub-Reddit hole they crawled out of.

@howcan: With all due respect, your premise kind of falls on itself when you consider that the ICJ has found plausibility in Israel committing genocide in Gaza, and the majority of the world views Israel as a blatant violator of international law. The ‘it’s complicated’ argument doesn’t really stand here.

@jalalii: <—- Predictable response. Thanks for playing.

Don’t pretend like you actually care.

should have said it's made in china with slave labour. it'd work better for your end goal :P

Who do I boycott to send a message to the murderers and rapists in Hamas and their Iranian backers?

    • +1

Ok all this stuff about genocide, fair enough. I'm not going to take sides but I am naturally against genocide. But I gotta say I draw the line at boycotting a brand because the Israeli prime minister uses one. He also drives an Audi, should we all boycott them too? Come on man, its not like HP is funding their campaign!

I use a HP at work ive refused to use it. My boss now reads out everything to me on ozbargain including this.

That a nice price for a qhd gaming monitor 165hz nice.

  • 20% off the QHD 240hz model too.

  • is the extra $60 worth it over the s2721ds deal yesterday ($240) for the 165hz? thinking about returning that one and getting this instead

    • +1

Oh yeah defs if you’re gaming

    • +2

The Omen has a higher refresh rate and slightly higher brightness.

The Dell may have similar or a tiny bit better contrast, and has inbuilt speakers.

Either are great for Office or general use, and the Omen would be significantly better for gaming. I’ve got the Dell from a couple of years ago, and it’s a solid monitor.

    • +1

I think the versatility it provides from the higher refresh rate is worth the $60 increase, you can always use it to game and it will likely be a more enjoyable experience to use in general but up to you, as opposed to the Dell which is only 75hz.

  • Thanks for sharing OP. Ordered one for my WFH setup too.

  • Good to pair with a S2721DGF?

    • -1

I have no idea - but that's what I will end up with :)

  • No speakers?

    • It’s absolutely no contest IMO except for FPS. Ideally a 4K GSYNC monitor is best.

    • Depends on your use case, for mainly desktop use and image/video editing the 4K 60hz would be a better pick but if you are mainly using it for gaming getting a 1440p 120hz+ screen is the way to go.

Of course you can always just have two screens attached to the PC one of each.

        • +1

Yeah but for games you're going to notice the worse motion clarity and you're locking yourself in to paying for a higher class of GPU. It's a trade off.

      • +11

Are you going to boycott dell for selling to the fbi and cia ?

Companies sell to governments all around the world, a boycott wont do shit.

There are companies around today who sold to the nazis and supported hitler. They aren't getting boycotted.

      • +8

Pffft…I'm sure Hamas were thinking about their humanity on 7 Oct.

  • How is this one compared to ViewSonic Omni VX2728-2K which is around $279?

    • +1

The HP has much better higher brightness (400 vs 250nits) with just slightly better colour reproduction (95% vs 90% DCI-P3) and can pivot. I'd choose the HP myself.

    • I have the VX2728J-2K bought from pc case gear for $279 (comparing the specs I believe the J model just has a better monitor stand than the non-J but otherwise same).

I bought as a 2nd monitor to replace a previous 27" 1440p 144Hz IPS which started dying, and it works perfectly fine. It is bright enough for me (non-HDR use) and colours are nice. I think its great value for the specs and I wouldn't hesitate using it as my main/gaming monitor. This 27q deal looks good too though with included delivery.

  • Anyone know why major brands charge an arm and leg to include USB C input?

My relative in Canada purchased generic 27" FHD monitor with USB C for $129 which was perfectly fine for office work.

    • That seems like a special deal and its AUD $220 inc GST for a FHD monitor…. so what?

      • If they meant CA$, it would be around AU$160 including tax
