Useful for all the home invasions happening. I'll see your machete and raise you The Sword of Andúril - "I Do Not Fear Death.”

You'll have to sharpen and enchant it first I feel.

Are these replica swords safe to play around in the house with? Ie. are they sharp?

"A blade that is aesthetically pleasing but not sharpened so it is safe and easy to handle."

Note: Swords are blunted and not sharpened. (First sentence in deal description.)

In addition to the comments about not being sharp, they're going to be unhardenable stainless steel. Actually hitting them against anything is going to be a seriously bad idea.

      They're ornaments, nothing more.

      • If someone broke into a home, and they played the Doom theme song and came running at your with a World of Warcraft axe, thew deterrent factor is enough I think :p

      • Further to this, check out their weights. Take the 'Lord of the Rings Sword of Witch King', it is 137cm in length and weighs only 1.7kg…
These will be as flimsy as anything, and lucky to hold their own shape without bending and flexing.
Definitely made for hanging on the wall, with minimal handling.

Swords actually aren't all that heavy, that weight sounds about right, might even be on the heavier side.

        Agreed.

        Source:
In my early 20s, after having consumed much alcohol, I had a sword fight using two display swords. It was a good time, but both swords have huge chunks taken out of the blades.
Also a fractured my thumb (Which is probably better than cutting off said thumb, but nevertheless).

    • Not sharp but no chance I'd be swinging this around with any force whatsoever. The blade could fly out of the fittings and cause some damage.

Complete the Epic Cringelord look with a replica sword from your favourite nerd fantasy show. Repel make believe enemies and women IRL faster than you can shout "Song of Fire and Ice".

    Licence required in Victoria.

    • From what I understood, these don't count. They not sharpened. Also, not used for enactment or in use? Just looking online then and seems to be the same? Sharpened knives/blades require a licence and ID. Display, ornamental, blunt items do not?

        1.0 PROHIBITED WEAPONS
        1.1 Swords
A sword is defined under sch.2 of the Regulations as being a thrusting, striking, or cutting weapon with a long blade having 1 or 2 edges and a hilt or handle. A sword is still classified as a sword even if the 1 or both blades are blunt.

Obviously not the razor, subtle glance, becoming less subtle at the neckbeard.

  • Any bargain on a good sharpener for these?

    Gomenasai, my name is Ken-Sama.

I’m a 27 year old Australian Otaku (Anime fan for you gaijins). I draw Anime and Manga on my tablet, and spend my days perfecting my art and playing superior Japanese games. (Disgaea, Final Fantasy, Persona series)

I train with my Katana every day, this superior weapon can cut clean through steel because it is folded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my sword license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak Japanese fluently, both Kanji and the Osaka dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about Japanese history and their bushido code, which I follow 100%
When I get my Japanese visa, I am moving to Tokyo to attend a prestigious High School to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an animator for Studio Ghibli or a game designer!

I own several kimonos, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Japan, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Japanese as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

    Wish me luck in Japan!

I hope you are joking, Ken-SAN (you're probably not a sama), as otherwise you sound like a sad hikkikomori which is so sabishi~~~

First of all, the katana isn't considered the superior weapon despite what you think - it's the spear for it's reach, if we're restricting ourselves to strictly non firearms.

Secondly, although Japanese high schools are fascinating in anime, that is for high schoolers, not a 27 year old. Imagine a 27 year old trying to celebrate schoolies week and you get the picture. It is repulsive anywhere in the world.

Lastly, I hope you've thoroughly researched the work culture in Japan ESPECIALLY in the animation and game design area, both areas known to work people to death. If all you're doing right now is playing games and drawing idealylically every day, it will seem like hell if you actually get in.

Best of luck, and I hope you stop fantasising on high schools, gambatte ne~~
