pay the extra $200 for i15 imo

    • +4

      What’s the reasoning behind that?

      • +21

        USB C

        • Was enough to get me to switch after a decade of Android

        • +4

seriously you guys like to make big deal about a cable

          • @ChatCPT: You can do a lot of usbc including plugging into a hub and showing your screen, or using a USB drive. It’s very useful

          • @ChatCPT: USB C at least gives some freedom back to the user for a phone that's pretty locked in. I just recently switched to iPhone after 13 years on Android phones.

There was no simple way of transferring files (eg. pictures, videos) from my PC to the iPhone. Couldn't get iTunes or iCloud or whatever it is to install and work properly on my PC.

Got a USB C thumb drive and can now transfer files to and from the phone easily. I can also use all my existing charging cables. It was just one less barrier to entry.

@Mooshino: You should have gone in to an Apple Store and received help

            • +4

@Mooshino: your issue is user error not a hardware limitation

      • +6

to have the latest for only $200 more is a no brainer imo, see differences here i14 vs i15

        • -1

          The 15 is amazing.

      • Price difference inconsequential anyway because eventually when you do sell it down the track that $200 difference is at the very least mostly recovered. Resale further helped in 15's favour considering there's 2 tangible physical differences with USB-C (won't be any lightning cables/devices soon enough) and having dynamic island vs the old notch (likely their design language for a while yet).

    • Gaming (if your into that) - or is that just the 15 Pro?
ps - discounts apply to Pros too

  • +2

Whats going on? every shops try to sell 14 or 15 with big discount now?

    • -2

Surprise release of iP 16, just like they did with the M3 Macbooks?

      (speculation)

    • +10

Apple shares taking a hit with global recessions kicking in, i would think.

      • And a big drop in sale in their Chinese market

    • +4

covid over - ppl have less money - interest rates high etc

    • +4

because iphones are now made in the largest democratic country, and Apple can finally afford to take a price cut.

      • +5

        So comes with curry?

      • -2

Made in the biggest country that no one wants might be one of the reasons behind price cuts?

        • Made in the biggest country that no one wants might be one of the reasons behind price cuts?

Here, have a neg for being who you are today.

      • +2

Made in the largest country does not necessarily mean it costs less to Apple. It could have costed more to Apple. It is all about diversifying political risks.

The price cuts obviously is about demands. No one wants iPhones now.

  • 100% go with the 15 for the extra $200 from the other deal, but thank you for sharing.

    • How did you do that?

      • +4

I call absolute bull$!t, Apple would never upgrade like that, trust me I have tried. Unless Dealmon has a receipt stating otherwise??? But I highly doubt it

        • Only if they have no stock of something which seems very unlikely

          • @theguyrules: Apple probably still have iPhone 3 phones knowing that one day they can use them lol

    • Still unclear if a good deal.

      • lol

      • Good deal in isolation but not so much in context of the i15 on sale too

  • +1

    HODL LOL

    • +3

I agree. Let’s see how low these Apples can fall, so we can pick them like low hanging fruit.

  • +2

Hold off. iPhone 15 coming in -6 months

    • Isn’t it already here??

But if your referring to iPhone 16, that will probably start around the $1600 mark, people may not want or afford to pay that

      • +1

I think they mean minus 6 months…. but imma wait for the iPhone 21 anyway.

  • iPhone 15 128g is now A$970 in Asia.

    • +2

Where are you buying the iPhone from? Also $300 discount and a plane ticket cost isn't worth it imo.

  • Interesting to see these price drops continuing.

  • Get officeworks to price match then beat by 5% will be the best price , i will be doing this today to have officeworks beat telstra price on the 15.

    • I would but have JB vouchers unfortunately

    • any luck with price beat?
