5gb access point with GBE Connection

    • Can you get over a GB on a wifi6 connection?

      • You usually fall just short on 80mhz with a 2x2 client.

Sadly enough, Ubiquiti used to ship 2.5gbit capable ethernet chips in earlier revisions of the U6-LR…

Theoretical link speed that starts degrading as soon as you arent right next to it.

Its still useful for OTA transfers that bypass ethernet, especially since its cumulative speed between ALL activities/users.

  • +2

Why is your ETA more than other resellers on the u7-pro?

  • The UniFi 6 Pro Wireless Access Points are excellent. I managed to get some last month on Amazon for $228 each

When are we able to pre order UCG-Ultra?

    • Tech geeks have them. I've pre-ordered and should be shipped to me on Monday.

      • +1

        Not with their pricing…

        • $324.50 :/ Might be cheaper to buy from Ubiquiti and use parcel forwarding when they have them in stock

          • +1

@thonk: Yeah tho i am not sure hows the warranty for that. Hoping Scorptec and Mwave will do a pre order soon :)

Not voting on this deal, but posting as FYI for others here.
Wireless 1 do not acknowledge Australian Consumer Law, and refuse to help as soon as the item is out of warranty.
They originally sent me an open box UDM, but I was reasonable and accepted it.
But a year later I had some issues with it and they refused to assist.
I ended up buying a replacement from another seller as I could not afford the time to stuff around.
    YMMV.

      Hi Zippy7,

Please PM us your order number so we can try to assist you.

      Thanks,

      • +7

When I bought the UDM, it was (and still is marketed as) a premium networking product.

I received this reply from your team last year when I raised it to you - "In this case, we are regrettably unable to assist with processing this unit under warranty as it is unfortunately outside of the 1-year manufacturer's warranty period."

ACL does not stipulate a time limit.

I don't understand what assistance you are offering now. I will PM you as you requested.

          • +1

@helldoodle: Don't be silly, of course he had proof of purchase. He was contacting the person who sold him the product, they would have a record of the purchase too.

As for time limit, Wireless1 was quoted above as saying "it's outside the 1 year limit" when the ACL is bigger than that, and takes priority over their own idea of what the warranty is.

Please don't talk when you don't know the facts.

      • Ordered a UDM pro today from a new deal, if its opened its coming back. Not acknowledging the issues is pretty average if this is the case, I hope you have helped @Zippy7 out, be interested to see whats happened since @Zippy7

        • Hey @WhiteEvo6 - They did not offer any help via DM. They only asked for more info, but no offer to me.

I did raise a complaint with Fair Trading NSW, but if anyone has any experience with that, you'll realise it takes months to get any kind of response or solution.
Given the UDM was a central part of my home network, I could not wait, hence went ahead and purchased a replacement elsewhere. At the moment, I am not inclined to spend another hard earned dollar with this business (never say never).

I hope you don't have any issues with your UDM, and if you do, then I hope these guys may have a better attitude.

          • @Zippy7: Thanks for the update, certainly something for others to consider when dealing with @Wireless1

    • +2

Not my experience at all, they were really good with a failed switch and provided a refund as it was taking too long to be replaced.

    • +10

Seconded on the poor attitude on returns. I tried to return a dodgy router a while ago and they essentially laughed when I cited Australian Consumer Law and said "good luck with that".

Haven't shopped with them since, and sounds like nothing's changed.

      • Check with your bank if the charge back deadline starts from the date of purchase or the date you raised the issue with the seller, you might still be covered

    • My experience with them for returning stuff has been really good too. I had to pay for the postage that was taken from he refund but apart from that it was quick and easy.

  • thanks very much OB, purchased 3 G5 bullet, good price.

    cheers

oh ffs, I only just bought a U6 Lite last night from PLE… bloody typical

    • +1

You're fine. No free shipping for U6 lite, it's $43.

      • buy more to get free shipping….

      • +1

        phew saved again, thanks ozbargains!

  • How do I remove the shipping insurance?

I cannot get the claimed "$256.5" in the title without removing the insurance.

    • At check out there is a tick box near the newsletter signup tick box. Just unpick it for the shipping insurance and it comes of the total in the cart.

  • +2

Also when will you be stocking the USW-Pro-Max-48-PoE ?

  • Please any help appreciated.

Would two u6 lite be enough to cover a 29 sq single story house. Planning to get both wired and turn off the mesh.

I am unable to decide between u6 lite vs u6 pro/u6+

    • +1

      Get the U6+

They will be more than enough, without breaking the bank

      • Thanks. Please could you also help me choose a poe+ switch. I am looking at TP-Link TL-SG1005P-PD. Any idea if this would work with the U6+.

        Thanks.

        • The TP-Link TL-SG1005P-PD needs POE++ input to work, I dont think it will do what you are after. You probably want a TP-Link TL-SG1008P

An Ubiquiti USW-LITE-8-POE would be best but they are more expensive.

    • +1

You most probadly will be able to get away with one but if you are going to the effort of wiring them then do the two.

  • Have wanted to get into Ubiquiti for quite some time - got 2 of the Unifi Express as a starting point to replace Amazon Eero - one isn't enough for my place so these will be a nice intro.

Want a UDM Pro SE and cameras, but that'll have to wait.

    • +2

Any particular reason why you can't just get one unifi express and a wireless AP?

      • I wanted the ease of setup for now - I’m just going to be meshing these wirelessly until I have time to do wired back haul - wasn’t sure if the wireless AP could do that and be mounted on a table top

  • Will the new Unifi Gateway Ultra be stocked soon?

  • +3

Bring out a Ubiquiti UDM-SE $883.15 deal again like a couple of weeks ago so I can pull this trigger please! Kicking myself that i missed that but will wait till the next deal.

  • +1

U6 lite and u6+ are slightly cheaper on Ebay for anyone with EBay plus.

  • Shame they don't stock the white g4 pro poe.

  • still no UP-FloodLight ?????

  • Hmm I'm tempted to replace my UDM with the dream machine pro.

Reason being I want wifi 6 and the udm is wifi 5, I know I would have to buy an AP.

Also I have mixed out the 4 Ethernet ports and cobbling together extra Ethernet with mini flex switches.

Majority of my devices on my network are not wifi 4 but wondering if the upgrade to wifi 6 on the devices that can use it will be worth it.

    • Wait for WiFi 7 aps rather than WiFi 6 if you have waited this long. The UDM Pro or UDM SE would be worth the upgrade

  • +3

Hi OP! You have set the deadline for this deal as 11 March on the calendar, but it looks like it has already expired. I was hoping to stock up on a few Ubiquiti products, including one featured in your post, but the code UBQ10 no longer works. Can you fix this for us?

  • I recently setup Express-UX and U6-Pro.
Super easy to setup. Flawless wifi.

  • Didn’t realise these come with a non-standard plug - is this to be expected?

The plug I received also doesn’t match the specs of the plug in the box
