  • $1000 off any phone available at JB HI-FI in store.

    • Yup, and that deal has been in place since the 7th, so TGG is trying to match by baking in Apple and Samsung rebates. Double check prices and request a price beat offer, but if you absolutely have to buy this week you'd probably opt for JB unless they can't deliver a competitive Samsung deal.

I wouldn't recommend either deal though, and from a cancellation standpoint you're only getting $130 discount out of a credit check and 45 minutes or more of your time.

I dont think these can be described as deals anymore !

Yeah, it used to be that these deals were okish for most people and great for people that hotspot everywhere and replace the need for NBN, security guards who watch netflix all day or their employer pays for their mobile plan regardless of cost.

Now they're useless for most people and okish for that niche group. All the annual $200-300 a year plans that cover most of us mean to get a $1k giftcard means paying an extra $2k over 2 years.

      • Sorry, I didn't understand your point. What has changed between "before" and "now?
        Thanks

          Before - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/673656

We used to get $500 (or more) with $69 a month on a 12 month plan. Net cost of $328 over the 12 months was a decent price for a Telstra plan. Even in November last year it was a $1,400 giftcard that could be spent on anything https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/809090 for the 24 month, $99 plan.

Now we can get $1,150 off the Galaxy S24 right before the S25 releases. This isn't a deal at all.

          • @freefall101: Right before S25 releases? No
            S24 released a month ago. S25 won't release for another 11 months

For sydney train commuters, I find telstra internet sketchy in airport line train tunnel but small price for a good ozbargain.

    • I always thought there usually was no range under tunnels.

      • +1

I work on them, optus & voda work fine, telstra not so much

    • So is T4 tunnel, at least the section between Esko and Townhall. My phone keeps dropping to 3G and then no connection. Voda/Optus are also affected, but not totally disconnected

800 cancellation fee in case anyone is wondering

    • +2

For the $99 plan it might seem that way, but usually it's a bit under $866 because you pay the first month and the first voucher repayment is waived.

Good luck arguing with Telstra's disconnections team about that!

Lol paying 99 for 24 times and still need to buy the phone…

  • ResidentSleeper

  • 12 months then it's a deal.

  • What's the best deal now to get 24 Ultra? I've got an s22 I can trade-in. Any helps please

    • Probably jb hifi , i traded in iphone there last year, got the full trade in value promised, can be less if heavy wear, did have to send off but not too much trouble

      • Are they doing any deals?

  • $1000 off any phone $99 24m plan i think
