ram might be fast, doesn't stop 16gb being pretty small for a ""4"" thousand dollar laptop

  • Is this worth purchasing or do you guys think there will be more Easter sales?

    • +1

Far better deals. Unsure other the chip, what's good about this device. It's specs are pretty comparable to ones 800 less.

Purchase when you have a clear need, and specific use case - otherwise there's always something better in the future , price and technology.

  • What am I missing? Why is this a bargain when there's higher specs laptops for less?

Is it build quality or something?

    • Build, style, and portability.

  • 16GB soldered RAM.
    WUXGA 60Hz
Might be a good build but a bit disappointing specs for $2k.

Over $2k 16" laptop but no dGPU? Am I missing something here?

    • I just Googled it, this is not a deal. No way would I pay 2k for this.

AMD Radeon 780M RDNA3 iGPU competes with GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q and RTX 2050 discrete graphics

60hz, 1200p 16" screen… This config is about 20% too expensive for that hardware

  • So just FWIW these "PRO" cpus are only important if you have encryption requirements to my understanding. Things like Microsoft Pluton are good for corporate IT management but if you're a home user I'd just get a non-pro and save the $$. If you spec out the Slim 5 with the same setup (except you don't get the USB-4) and an OLED monitor it comes out to $1549. Oh the RAM is 6400MHz not 7500Mhz.
