    Here we go again.
Please read previous deal comments on why to avoid this deal.
Combination of poor tracking/rejected cashbacks through shopback, people not recieving gift cards and unclear privacy policy

    • +5

I received mine with no issues

    • +1

Here we go again, all the people who didn't get their voucher voting negative again.
I got mine fine so I'm positive voting.

      • +5

its good that they are downvoting because this business seems to be a hit or a miss and not a deal. In the comments later on it is seen that this store is reporting users for their negative votes instead of fixing their faults. Doesn’t look like a good business to deal with.

You should reply to all the people in the last posts before posting again.

    • -2

      • I did change internet providers previously based on email from commbank. What kind of reference numbers are you looking for? In case I use this to change , let’s say electricity, what all do I capture or who do I contact in case I do not get the gift card?

        • -1

I will no longer be accepting or resolving your reports for the rest of the day as you have sent too many invalid reports. Thank you.

Gees that's disgraceful if the Econnex rep is reporting people instead of fixing the root cause.

Many people have cited issues with Econnex paying out for a while now.

Fix the issues as you've clearly lost a lot of trust by many here.

            • +2

@Manyo: Well if you had a more transparent approach on what locations you operate, what countries the data is stored and how you guarantee the security of the info collected, a more transparent privacy policy and better communication skills, your deals would not get negged instead of reporting genuine comments that reflect the reality of the buisness you are running.

But offcourse open disclosure puts you in a position of legal liability which i assume why you refuse to respond or provide any answers related to these issues.

I would suggest an AMA in the forums.

              • -3

@easternculture: easternculture, we have always been clear and transparent about our policies, that is the reason those policies have been linked on our website, and we have been posting deals on Ozbargain for years now, if there had been an authentication problem, Ozbargain would have never let us post a single deal.

                • @Manyo: Well answer my questions above

                  • what locations/countries do you operate,
                  • what is the location of your data servers and
                  • how do you guarantee the security/privacy of the info collected in those countries
                  • +1

@easternculture: Seems like perfectly reasonable questions to me, @Manyo if you want people to trust you with their personal data.

                  • -6

@easternculture: Please refer to our privacy policies page, for any further questions.

                    • +2

@Manyo: You privacy policy does not answer these questions. Please kindly provide an answer

                    • @Manyo: Why didn't you answer the questions? What have you got to hide?

                      • @arcticmonkey: He wont. Because puts them in a position of legal liability. His solicitors would advise him against

          • +1

@arcticmonkey: I bet they're also the one who negged all the neg voter's comments.

edit - They've even negged this comment.

    • +2

Why did you plus vote if you're saying to avoid?

  • +2

Never had an issue receiving giftcards.

  • +2

Also never had issues receiving gift cards.

Quick search of emails sent from [email protected] (the sender address for gift cards) reveals I have received 13 x $50 gift cards since this time last year.

    Thanks Manyo!

    • 13?

      • Yep, changing electricity/internet providers for one PPOR and one IP.

        • Churning energy provider for each property every 2 months?

          • @rokufan: As soon as a new deal comes up, yes. Of course if a deal comes up one month after switching, but the switching requirements state for example you need to stay minimum 60 days, then I skip that.

Otherwise yep, it's just churn churn churn.

I have "Energy Supply" filter saved as a bookmark https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/energy-supply

I check it once every few days to keep myself up to date with what's available.

It will be a blessing to get away from Simply Energy. Have received gift cards all 3 times I've done this so far.

    • They're worse than Dodo?

      • I'm not sure anyone is as bad as Dodo. I'm going to Tango. I haven't been near Dodo since I had to get the Ombudsman involved to get out of a contract with them because my internet was not working and they were impossible to reach. That was 15 years ago.

Simply Energy seem to be lazy and incompetent. I did get the $100 from this and $200 for signing up from them and $250 bill credit, which was meant to come from the government but their incompetence meant they didn't know how to do that so they just gave it to me - not the only issue, but one of the more costly ones. I've been with them way longer than I would have been though if they'd just done their job, won't be going back. I've missed out on other sign up bonuses like these and they're expensive.

  • Do we get confirmation about the ozbargain promo/ egift card in the email, once sign up completed ?

  • No OVO as an option. They seem to be the best option ATM for charging an EV at home. 8c per KW/H 12am to 6AM.

Simply Energy is a possible contender (waiting on a phone call from them).

Was seriously considering an electricity swap though this deal, but after reading the comment I've decided to just go direct. Once again, appreciate the OzBargain community looking out for each other.

  • +1

This is probabaly why all the advertising on ozbargain

The CIMET Agreement included an earnout component for up to $3.6 million, which was contingent on CIMET achieving certain performance KPIs post Completion.

    • Disappointed he has not answered your questions.

He's replied to others since then.

  • You get $112 via cashreward plus $200 gc from Econnex?

Is it correct? Thanks in advance

    • +1

Should be New Gas & Electricity Signups $140 for econnex as per cashreward website.

      • How I wish you had commented just 10 minutes earlier, just signed up with the inferior $112 from shopback. Ozbargain cashback tracker only showing the broadband cashback for econnex, not the superior $140. Never even considered the possibility :(
