I needed a very fast laptop for work only. Nothing came close to this for the price. Looks like a good deal.

Mate, does it have finger or retina scanner for login? The overall specs look great though.

Any details about the % coverage of the Display? Lenovo cheapies are 45% so what about ASUS?

One issue I've had with Asus is fragile hinges and power connector (barrel plug) becoming loose over time and then flaky. Otherwise the board specs are fine.

This laptop can also be charged with its USB C port.. :) so that's a good backup option if your barrel plug gets loose. Not noticed any issues with Asus hinges. Maybe some models are good and some are not.

On the ASUS website their LCD based laptops come with two vaguely decided display screen options.

      1. NanoEdge FHD 1080P 83% screen-to-body ratio 15.6” FHD display 178° wide viewing angles ( On the lower priced ASUS )
      2. NanoEdge FHD 1080P 83% screen-to-body ratio 15.6” FHD display 178° wide viewing angles, IPS Level ( On the higher priced ASUS )

This X1502VA-BQ132W model comes with the "presumably better" number 2. "IPS Level" screen. For whatever that means :)

  • Is the battery capacity a cause for concern? Not the biggest out there

in the youtube review above for those who need longer battery life you can always charge it with a USB-C battery bank
The CPU is a (H) model = "high end" think gaming/workstation CPU and is not made for long battery life.

Can't seem to find brightness or gamut of the screen anywhere. Hate it when they don't include that info.

    No Thunderbolt, weird. Bad

But it does have PD USB C :)

  • Does it support displayport over USB-C?
