  • A (much cheaper) slingbox alternative. Anyone that owns one care to share your experience of this unit?

    • I own the previous version where the app is free. It takes a bit to setup. I used it to watch the English Soccer in the mornings on the bus. It works fine, I reckon around 15-20fps max, but that may just be on Optus 3G. It works better to room-shift TV digitally. Be aware using the remote through the app takes a bit of getting used to, sloooow.

is there an ios viewer/control app available?

I have no experience with either the ArenaSales or Warcom stores though.

I'm also curious if anyone has first-hand experience?

@GregFiona: Supposidely there is an app, but you have to pay. Check this review: http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/review/home_entertainment/vulk…
    Edit: nevermind, beaten to it
Edit2: Thanks for the updated price Arena Sales :)

  • Would this stream foxtel? >_>

    • Yes, it definitely does!

  • How does the change channels on the go work? doesn't this just receive a signal from a set top box?

    • If it's like the Slingbox there is a cord with a little infra-red bit that you place in front of your foxtel box etc.

Then you have a digital version of the remote on your computer, phone etc and when you hit a button the box replicates the signal of the remote and the channel changes like magic.

      • Yep, this works in exactly the same way ;)

    • This is an informative video to watch which gives a good run down on how it works:

  • All you need is: An actual, working, paid for Foxtel connection
