Recommendations for Decent Places to Sell Collectable Gaming Stuff?

Obviously Ebay, but trying to avoid Ebay taking so much out with fees.

Gumtree is full of scams as is marketplace, seems like ebay is really only decent option left

Thoughts?

OZB is worth a try, and I am interested too. Can you make a list?

I've been a long time member there and I basically don't bother with anyone who has a 90 day old account and 2 posts. But people engaged in the community it's a great place to buy/sell, I've bought a few old gaming bits off there.

Not great prices for sellers, but IMO worth it for the ease of transactions I've had there (bought and sold things dozens of times, was scammed once about 18 years ago).

      • Yeah, I’m a long time member there.. but if I list something there, I generally sell for less than what I could get on eBay or whatever, just for the ease of transactions

    • I have been using ocau for over 20 years, but some people have been scammed on there, though its few and far in-between.

  • Obviously Ebay, but trying to avoid Ebay taking so much out with fees.

Get on eBay Plus and keep your eye on these monthly Ozb deals:

[eBay Plus] $0 Variable Final Value Fee on 1 New Listing (March 2024, No Discount Cap) @ eBay Australia
[eBay Plus] $0 Variable Final Value Fee on 1 New Listing (January 2024, No Discount Cap) @ eBay Australia
[eBay Plus] $0 Variable Final Value Fee on 1 New Listing (December 2023, No Discount Cap) @ eBay Australia

Granted, these deals were a lot better a year ago when they were giving 3 free listing per month. But if you only want to sell in dribs and drabs, this is still a good way to do it given that eBay will only take a flat $0.30 fee.

  • Facebook or Gumtree - But can get caught up in scams.

    Otherwise, eBay.

I've had mixed with eBay and Gumtree. If anyone askes for PayID, it is always a firm no from me. Cash only.

    • What's the problem with PayID? I either log into my banking app and the money is there, or it isn't. If it isn't, I don't send or hand over the item.

  • CEX trade-ins

If you avoid Ebay because of the fees then you're basically avoiding the entire collectible market IMO.

13% sounds like a lot but that's 13% more you'll make on the price compared to elsewhere.

  • Collectable Gaming Stuff

    Examples?

  • Ebay. You will obtain higher sell prices that will cover the fees.

  • You'll soon learn the eBay fee more than accounts for the time saved vetting and negotiating with buyers on other platforms.

Any sort of electronics I sell on eBay unless I'm hoping for a single sale in a bulk lot which might be worth the effort.
