    Overpriced?!

    • What would you see as better value sketches?

      • These aren't drawings.

A wired 4K Reolink setup is about half this price - think I paid $700 for mine. Wireless will cost more, but not this much more.

So far I get more than 2 months of recordings on my setup with the included 2TB drive - drive can be upped to up to a 16TB if you need more storage.

        No cloud connectivity needed either.

Reolink is awesome - source: I own a Reolink setup & love it.

        • Could you please link the Reolink set you bought?

          • @m0usju1c3: I paid $685 for this. But this model isn’t available anymore…
            https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08MFGNQDF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_s…

You can get this 4x bullet style camera + NVR setup for about the same as I paid.
https://amzn.asia/d/5mYq5RL ($90 off at the mo)

Or you could roll your own, by buying an NVR, then whatever cameras you need - might end up more expensive, but it’s more customised for you too.

8 channel NVR - $350 - https://m.reolink.com/product/rln8-410/ < this will take whatever Reolink camera you throw at it. Cameras are from $100-$250 each depending on features & are all 4K (I believe). Reolink even has a doorbell that plugs right into the ecosystem as well.

You can also check on AliExpress and eBay for Reolink deals too - sometimes they’re even cheaper.

    They're matching SCA
Some things are still cheaper via SCA

Device Deal has it for the same price.
Add it to the cart and then add the 'EUFYSPECIAL' discount, then get Bunnings to price match.
    Bunnings purchase price $1,330

    • I'm getting $1,478.00 even with the code @ device deal

      • I believe if Bunnings price match with 10% - 1478*0.9 = 1330.20

        • Does Bunnings price match after promo codes?

          • @jd69xd: Went yesterday, nope

            • @Johchan: That illustrates what Bunnings' price match really is - merely a marketing device and not extending a hand to the customers really.

Just pointing it out - I totally get why it's so.

            • @Johchan: Interesting, because they did for me. Paid $1,330 for the 4 pack. No where in their price match policy do they mention that they will not honour special pricing.

  • What stopped me looking into this set months ago was the fact - as far as I understood - that the cameras need to be within Homebase range. Ie. it's not that each device in the set needs to be covered by the same wifi network, but it's a direct connection HB <-> cams.

Can someone confirm? How's the actual range?

    • +1

Yes. Thats some of how Eufy kit works. With HB3 they extended the range a bit more. I can get 25m los via 2 drywall then 2 brick wall.

HB2 at my parents place get patchy reception via 20m los thru 3 double brick wall.

      • That's not bad. Thanks for confirming.

    • +1

that is correct and i had the same concern but has absolutely no issue across my 3 stories. I wish my home wifi had this range

    • Bummer.

  • Have the 2C cameras (1080p) and they work as expected, but wondering if it's worth going to the expense for 2K or, as in this item, 4K cameras.

    • +1

I recently upgraded from the 2c to the 3c (4K) and there is a decent difference indeed! Very clear, a lot more accurate, and a few more features. Home base storage can be expanded with an SSD drive also!

    • If you need to identify licence plate in 6m range then yes.
None of the previous version can do it properly (I run 2c , 2 pro and 3 versio )

Got one for my mum. Very happy with it except for the privacy issues someone linked above. The solar keeps the cams permanently charged, even through winter as long as they cop a decent amount of sun each day. Wifi range seems fine. The only issue I had was connecting a Eufy wireless doorbell which dropped out quite a lot, but that seems to have stabilised now. The AI thing is a bit hit and miss. The good thing with having the homebase rather than a cloud-based system is the alerts come through instantly, so you can seeif someone's approaching your front door etc. You can add a HDD/SSD to give it more storage.

It's currently on Amazon for $1,393.47 (-12%, was: $1,581.04) and I've just price-beated at Bunnings, so ended up being $1254.

Huge pain to get it done with Bunnings. Took me more than an hour and multiple phone calls - they "are busy" as always and seem unorganised. Nice people, however. Every single one I had to keep my cool and to speak to.

edit: I haven't received a confirmation email like promised, so I called the store. After three attempts (and ~20 mins), somebody picked up the phone and I only heard "just hang up" from the distance before it disconnected. Now, Bunnings stinks, big time, as this is not the first time they're being just shit.

Interestingly, there's also a 3-pack of S330 with HB3 from a differetn seller on Amazon. Current price is $1,016.53 (-6% was: $1,076.65), which seems great if 3 cams are enough for you. I believe this can't be price-beat anywhere as such kit isn't sold elsewhere.

    • Confirming I emailed Bunnings customer support and got this deal. Took Bunnings a day and a half to respond but it worked. $1,254 is decent deal for these brand new with warranty.

      • +1

Interesting you just emailed them and waited. If the listing disappears from Amazon, they don't price-beat it. And the listing showed only 5 left in stock on that day.

Now the same listing shows different seller, heaps of stock and it's even cheaper: $1,326.81 (-16%), so should be $1,194.13 at Bunnings.

        • +1

Legend, thanks for the heads up, I haven’t collected or paid yet so I’ll email them again with that.

I was happy to take the risk of them selling out, I’m not in a rush to buy these.

          • +1

@Ethan bargain hunt: Do you need to cancel the previous quote? Price beat/quotes are for a particular store and I'm not sure if they secure the stock in such case. They probably don't, but yeah…
