Don't think the price will go back to the price Q3 - Q4 last year so this is not ATL but acceptable price.

you'd need the non-heatsink version for laptop

I thought so, but then wouldn't it heat up ?

Many laptops will have some sort of thermal pad. Obviously not as good as a proper heatsink.

Probably not. Laptop space are usually very tight and this model is likely to be too big for the available space. Item Dimensions (L x W x H) 8 x 2.4 x 0.9 centimetres.

Isn't the SK Hynix P41 2tb generally regarded as the better unit?

yes p41 is better

this is good for the PS5
i would like a 4tb one though :D

Seller has 25% off the 990 pro 4tb too ($550). It was on special for $516.50 mid February though, so hard to say whether this is a particularly good deal or not.

There are cheaper options for 4TB, this for example: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/lexar-nm790-4tb-heatsink-m2…

even though this doesnt have DRAM and the 980 pro does?

That's useful for the PC, but I doubt he'll ever see any difference with the PS5 but his wallet will.

I bought the 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD for $207 delivered from Samsung during their sale last week
So this isn't really a deal for me.

How about posting it as a deal next time.

I asked on the Samsung thread if it was a deal. No response. So I impulse bought (buy first, do research later).
Posted a bit later and a couple of people affirmed my suspicion. So next time.

Thanks. People were saying $230 for the 2TB in the thread you linked to?

@Spizz: Yep. I jumped on chat who gave me a 10% code that removed $23 bringing it to $207.
Winner winner chicken dinner!

Not sold on the price, but this works great in the PS5! Heatsink is a must.

is it fine for a laptop? I have a metabox laptop .
