Great critique. Thanks for that, I needed to know all that important information. But you forgot that Vita has no games.
Literally, none at all. Its just a touch controlled paperweight. No need for memory.

Think of it this way. Either have 4 versions of Vita, wifi/3g and 16/32 GB. Or have 2 versions with expandable memory slots. Either way, the premium for memory would still be the same, comparable to say iPhone and most android phones.

Paid a ludicrous 130 for it at release and that was only because I bought another for a friend. 85 seems incredible.
Wow $95 for a 32 gb card? I won't own a ps vita anytime soon.
They're about $90 delivered from Amazon UK which is every day price.
Not many are going to pay that much for a 32GB of memory. Either Sony will later be forced to reduce the prices dramatically, or no one will buy them at all, and the Vita will die since it needs one. Probably the latter.
