I have a couple. They're great if you have multiple appliances with huge plugs/transformers that tend to occupy two spots on a normal power board (like most). Obviously they don't look very elegant if you don't have them stuck to the underside of a desk etc. Just think about where you will be place it.

Or lazily screwed into the vesa mount on the back of a monitor to keep the power bricks up behind and hidden (with some velcro on the other monitor's vesa mount to hold the laptop brick)

Love mine. I have one on my desk for general stuff and 1 for taking overseas. It's so handy to have 4 ports plus USB in a relatively compact shell.

I have a few of these at home and they are great. These have Surge Protection so they will be fine. I love to carry one with me when I am traveling overseas, just carry a decent single travel adapter for your destination country and you will be all good to go with your Australian electronics.

Yes, like what other users have mentioned, a 3m long cable with 4 AC outlets + 2 USB-A ports sure is more than enough for basic home usage. For traveling it is small enough to carry in your luggage. I don't think the looks are that important when traveling.

For those who use the public or hotel USB ports and are not aware of or know what is "Juice Jackers" or "Juice Jacking"

A USB Data Blocker is another handy device to have to carry around with you.
Amazon AU (Note: Some might not allow for fast charging)

    • Thanks for sharing about the juice jacking. I never heard of it. Glad I carry power banks now.

  • The USB ones are good, I have one mounted behing a tv on a portable trolley and the usb powers a chromecast and roku

In case anyone is interested, kmart has these as well https://www.kmart.com.au/product/arlec-3-outlet-power-cube-b…, 3 usb a for $20. The usb lasted a year or so for me, then I didn’t need them anyway. From experience, replacement from Kmart has always been easy.

    • I like the extra USB port. Four AC outlets is overkill when I'm travelling - I'm curious what else are people plugging in besides hairdryers?

  • These are just ok. The amount of space and form factor these bastards occupy with transformer power packs out each orifice is insane. Sits in the tray off the back of my desk like a deathstar built by ElectroBOOM. Pulling it up to plug something in or change something is a pain in the ass.

If you can go a flat power board with extra spacing built between, do it.. they come on sale less often but are way more friendly to be mounted conveniently and in more places.

  • I had one of these, loved it but mine had a coil whine about it.
