  • Price from Singapore is SGD no AUD

    • Its Singapore $150 So AU $ around $125

      • I didn't check the ad.

The real price is only SGD 86 on some flight.

Oh.. my mistake. It shows 86 but when you click the price(include tax) actually SGD 150.

  • I booked the flights 2 week ago! argggh… cranky!
I'm hoping the flights Taipei - Tokyo during Feb will be on sale as well.

  • when are the $125 flights? i just booked from sydney for laneway and im getting around $670 including taxes for 2 back to sydney

    • +1

As I mentioned book one way from both direction

      • Ya i booked one way to singapore. Now looking for sing to syd around the 30/01 they're all pretty high, around february they get to $86sing so maybe its because of peak season?

Also, when i select a fare, the box on the right shows a different price…

        • +1

Chinese New Year is on 10 Feb 2013, so any time around then is peak season in Asian countries.

        • Always handy to check dates of major events, holidays, and school hols - there is unlikely to be any (cheap) seats, accommodation, local transport, …

        • +2

Due to laws in australia, prices displayed for flights from Australia are tax inclusive.
Which is why the fare you select, and the box on the right shows the same price.

However, for practically everywhere else in the world, flight prices displayed are tax EXCLUSIVE. Therefore, the fare you select is the tax exclusive amount, and the fare in the box on the right is tax inclusive. (Which explains the price difference).

  • They just had a sale for $99 one way, why is $150 such a big deal?

    • I think they just compare with Air asia that has just been on sals.

    • OK if you missed that deal. (I didn't - so $99 to SIN)
But many complained they missed out on AirAsia deal (no availability of Promo fare for date) so posted this deal there.

    • You already have Tiger flying that Singapore route.
And Scoot has just formed a partnership with Tiger.
So can't see them in competition.

  • zoooooooomg

super tempted to book a holiday! now I just need to collect some leave..

  • booked one for sin-syd, thanks

  • decided to have a long weekend in Singapore for May next year. Was able to do it return for $268. No luggage, so am so looking forward to getting off the plane, thru customs and being on my way - bottle of duty free vodka and wine in hand :)

Still deciding if a super seat upgrade is worth the extra money. The seats sound similar size to QF Y, but 35" seat pitch sounds quite nice for me at 6'1 and I'd hope most people flying scoot are too stingy too upgrade and I'd have a decent chance of getting a row to meself.

    • A Tip: I found Duty free spirits were cheaper in Changi than Oz. Pick it up on way to Customs.

  • Not a bad price, is it easy to pick luggage / food / entertainment addons? Is the food as good as Air Asia?

    • Terrible food! (in my opinion - I have a threat of legal action over an unrelated online opinion!)

Many people refused to eat the food they had paid for on my flights. Got free unopened hot food - it was terrible. And I have eaten very strange foods & hate to refuse a freebie or waste food, but this was dried out & all main meals I tried tasted horrible. Even the purple porridge sludge on a China Eastern flight was far better. (The Hostie had tried to get me to take the western food, but when in China…)

Food & seating were the only let downs.

Annoyingly rows of spare seats were secretly sold off during the flight. Only those in the know got those seats - 4 seats for price of 1 upgrade & slept while we were crammed in!! When others wanted to share 1 of those 4 seats, they were told they were occupied - by 1 person.

      • how do you do this 4-4-1??? hahah

        • Sneak into an empty row when seat belt sign goes off after take off. Hostie will tell you it is not your seat… but for an upgrade fee you can stay. They will have their machine out for the fee.

Just got an email with my AirAsia flight confirmation - Empty Seats starting from MYR20
On KL-Gold Coast flight MYR105 = au$33 (refundable if unavailable) + MYR2 joining fee for extra 2 empty seats. "Empty Seat decision will be emailed normally 1-3 days before departure and at least 4 hours before departure."
Or Premium Flat Bed Upgrade option for $139 on KL-Gold Coast (if available)

        • thanks for that! still a bargain then!?

  • Is it worth it to get the Superseats upgrade? Has anyone had any trouble with flying Scoot?

  • I recently flew SIN-SYD with Scoot. The experience was not too bad, probably, because my expectation is low. I wanted it to be on time and it more or less did. I didn't care about long queue, bad food or other inconvenience.

However, there are two questions about their service:

    (1) There is no ticket number at all in Scoot system at all! I couldn't find it anywhere. You guys may say that reservation number is more than enough to fly. I agree but I find this strange and would appreciate an explanation whether this complies with IATA standard/government regulation. Think of a situation where you need a confirmed ticket to be shown at a consulate/immigration to get a visa/permit to entry. Without IATA standard ticket number, this may land you in a trouble.

    (2) Will I be able to book their flights with a travel agent in Australia? Many travel agents do have a price beat policy. I wonder if it works for Scoot. I also have $20 voucher from a travel agent and want to use it for my next Scoot flight.

  • Sale still going strong. Picked up Sydney - Singapore return for $260

    • As did I :) One recommendation if booking is to ensure you book your food/seat selection all in the same transaction, otherwise you are hit with another $16 convenience fee for paying for these things later :(

      • Which is interesting because I booked my super seat later and didn't get charged the fee.

    • unbelievably cheap.. don't have leave so i can't buy it sadddddd

      • But has been cheaper… got it about $160 return when Scoot started earlier this year.
And again 3 weeks back for $99 1 way.

  • can you please let me know the promotion code?

i can't see there is any promotion code here :-(

    • Just click on 'Go to Deal' link above & search for an available date - no promotion code, it is a SALE!

  • expired

    • Are you sure? There is no listed expiry date. I found a sale fare available weeks after the last sale - it just took some finding. That sale fare only disappeared when this sale started.

After a few minutes I just found total fares available around au$155 SIN to Gold Coast & $157 to Sydney.

(I kept an eye on that flight special for weeks - au$139 SIN-Gold Coast, in case I did not get a cheaper deal. AirAsia had a au$79 flight, so I bought it.)

      • sale ended 12 November

        • Sales roll into each other & some fares remain at old prices beyond end of sale, as above.

  • New Sale stared TODAY!
Handy for cheap fares back to Oz if you missed out.
