Supercheap auto has a good Easter sale which finishes today. I managed to get a further 10% price match at Bunnings, so the Eufy Wireless 1080p Security Camera System 2 Pack T8831CD3…$343.20 at Supercheap, cost me $309 at Bunnings. Similar deals to be had with the 4 x camera unit.

even bunnings have the 4 camera kit HD1080, price beat sca and it comes to 500-550, yet if u wanna add cameras, better of buying the 4 camera kit x2?? works out cheaper then buy 2 x 2 camera kit or the cameras individually…

Its micro usb from some of the reviews I have seen. I prefer these as there is no subscription model. Good for those who are installing these indoor and do not wish to upload their data in the cloud.
It's previous gen tech that still does the job perfectly, and you only charge it once or twice a year anyway. Don't really see what the issue is with that.

Get a solar panel. Never have to charge again.
Depends what power setting you use and how many triggers you get as to how long it lasts.
I have one at the front of our place on solar as there are plenty of motion events otherwise would be annoying charging it maybe every few weeks.
At the back of our place there are very few motion events and is set on "Optimal Battery Life". Currently has been 2 months (since last charge) and it's still showing 100% charge.
Mixed reviews online…struggling to pull the trigger. Anyone have these and recommend?
I purchased, installed, and set it up this morning and pretty happy so far. I didn't want to spend heaps, so the $300 price point was perfect.
App use, and set up, went seamlessly, as well as connecting it to my Google Home. Pleasantly surprised.
It seems to have all the functionality that I need. I can go and view what's happening instantly on the cameras, plus I get notifications when they detect something.
It stores videos on the base unit (with or without sound), so no extra fees involved. You can upload the file to share it, or easily delete. I can speak to the front door camera if someone is there. There is also a siren and a light which you can activate.
I'll be testing it out further tonight….hopefully no sirens wake up the neighbours at 2am!
Do you have to have the homebase connected via ethernet? I might cop it if I can do so without having it sit on my kitchen counter where the modem is.
Ethernet is only needed for initial setup. The cameras connect to the homebase on a private 2.4ghz channel. You just have to ensure that there are not too many obstacles between the home base and cam. If the camera struggles to connect to homebase or router faster will be the battery drain. This is true for any 2.4ghz battery powered camera and not just eufy.
Don't know about this camera but very happy with the Eufy doorbell. Customer support is very good in my experience. The doorbell died 22 months after purchase. I told Support that I can't justify buying a replacement that costs so much if they can't work for even 2 years. I didn't need to mention ACL, they sent a free replacement.
Costco has the 3 cam, home base 2 and an indoor pan and tilt cam for Approx $450 instore (not sure of the exact amount)

It seems the indoor camera can only connect to homebase 3 and not 2. And the only two choices I have is sd card or subscribe to the cloud service.

homebase 3 CAN do 24/7 recording but you want to pair it with the powered cameras not battery ones

Anyone know if you can add solar panels to these for charging. (Want to install once in a pia location under the eaves and don't want to be stuffing around)
you can also charge these with a power bank so dont need to take them down or offline ever. Obviously a solar panel is the better solution
Yeah I've had mine hooked up to a solar panel from aliexpress. Use it in high surveillance mode and haven't ever had the need to take it down.

Ive just returned an Arlo spotlight essential that was hooked up to an Arlo solar panel. The unit worked fine then started habing battery issues.
Could be unrelated, but I've wondered if it was due to constant trickle charge.
I just bought this 2c system and may take them down and charge (or use the Arlo solar on one of these Eufy's).
Been interested in home seccy cams for awhile, main question being is there any discernible difference between a 1080p set up Vs 2k?
Might go the refurb route as there's some tasty prices on offer.
There is a good YouTube video that compares them. Not a huge difference to me
i've got a 2k cam and 3 1080p and the 2k is sharper and makes things a little clearer but I wouldnt say it's significantly better
