  • Bins without a foot peddle to open are gross.

So you're implying it's more of a HÄLFASS then?

    • Actually there are bin situations that don’t work with a foot peddle. In our kitchen we have an inbuilt slide unit that holds the bin. It means the rubbish bin isn’t obvious. The design means we can’t put a peddle bin in but it works well with a HÅLLBAR

The ability for half the lid to hold in place means we can scrape scraps into the bin without having to hold the top open. You are in the kitchen. It isn’t hard to wash your hands afterwards.

You wash your hands, dry them with a paper towel and then need to put the paper towel in the bin. How do you do that without touching the bin again and making your hands dirty again? Reuseable tea towels are gross too.

I dry them with a tea towel. After I’ve washed them my hands are clean.

@try2bhelpful: I’ll pass on using a moist tea towel left in a warm kitchen creating an ideal environment for bacteria. But you do you.

@PainToad: So instead you waste a lot of paper towel. Interestingly enough I’ve managed to make it to 60 plus without succumbing to something from my wet tea towels. So how do you dry yourself in the bathroom? A whole bunch of paper towels?

              • @try2bhelpful: Not sure about you, but I’m not generally handling or eating food in the bathroom.

@PainToad: I don’t see how the tea towels are going to be an issue with handling and eating food. My tea towels sit on rails and dry readily. Towels in a moist bathroom are more likely to be in a moist damp environment and get mould spores.. I think you are much more at risk of inhaling spores from your bathroom towels than getting an adverse result from even a damp tea towel on your hands.

Frankly I think you are overly paranoid anyway. Can’t remember the last time I got food poisoning from food I’ve prepared myself. In the meantime I’m not going through money on paper towels and my immune system is just fine.
