I have to say that the voice quality of these IEM is amazing.
    http://www.head-fi.org/t/606070/review-brainwavz-m4

  • if you change the currency to AUD, the price is 28.32.

    • Actually "AUD26.90" after u use the code I posted in my first comment.

      • $27.85 AUD was the amount charged to my paypal using the above coupon code

        • I just got charged 26.90 using paypal. did you change the currency to AUD?

        • Didn't see that option somehow, so I paid in AUD converted to USD. Still not overly fussed as it's a good price for a good pair of headphones

        • For others, the option to change the currency is at the very top of the page - took me a bit to see it. Ordered a pair for $26.90 as well - at that price if they don't suit my needs I'm not too fussed.

  • +1

Just saying…to those who are in the market for IEM, don't think, run and buy immediately, one of my favourite <$50 IEM alongside Brainwavz R1

  • +1

So, does the fed ex delivery include Australia?

    • +2

      Yes it does…

  • Looks like the goods, picked up the non mic version.

  • To buy or not to buy that is the question

    • +1

Get them they are quite decent. They are my favourite.

      • Would they work well for girls? Could make a good present if they are small enough for girls ears!

        • They come with 6-7 different sets of ear tips so should be fine.

        • And they come with comply foam tips which distribute sound better as the sound spreads through the eartip better, and are much more comfortable imo.

    • They are 59.50 USD on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-BWAVZ-M2-M2-In-Ear-Headphone…) this is a genuine Ozbargain. I bought four pairs last time and I'm getting another two. They are really solid all around, provided you get a good fit. From an audio standpoint my only complaint is the highs hiss slightly at very high volumes, but that's almost a moot point. Of the other IEM's i've had around the 50-90 mark nothing touches these. They do need some burn in to smooth out the bass but the detail that comes out once that's finished is excellent.

      • +1

i dunno about the whole 'burn in' fad. From what i've been reading, quite a few people think it's mostly placebo but then again you've got people swearing on it. Personally, i can't tell the difference so if it sounds good, i'm sold.

  • Anyone know if these are good for people with small ears? As a guide, the Logitech 220vi were too big for me (with the smallest tip).

    • +9

      just the tip?

      • +8

        because I got ethics.

      • +2

        thanks Archer.

  • Anyone knows if these (http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-r1-dual-dynamic-speaker-i…) are much better than the M4's? As in are they really worth the extra cash?

    • I would suggest you get both. get the M4s now and get the R1s when they go on sale.

    • R1's bass extend deep down to sub-bass level, and the bass volume is much bigger than M4, though the mids are a bit veiled
M4 bass has bigger impact due to its mid-bass, the mids are more forward than R1
Basically R1 would be suited better for you if your car has 2x 16" fully sick sub-woofer

      • Ok cheers guys!

  • Whats the difference with the mic version? Just an added mic?

    • mic version u can use with iphone, pause, start, advance, go back.

      • Cable is a bit thicker apparently. Such things niggle crazy people. Believe it or not threads exist elsewhere discussing this very property.

        • +1

Both use the same cable right now. (Used to be different cables)

        • Well if the quality is the same I'm sure the mic version would be more popular

        • I got the mic version. my colleague at work got the non mic version.
Both use a black cable now of the same thickness (not the same as the one shown in the review link)

        • +1

@ mackaxx - they niggle 'crazy' people cos they often and have broken on me. This is 1 major letdown of these iems is their life expectancy. My M2's last 8months before 1 earpiece died.

        • Fair comment mr dude, I based that post on discussions about cable feel and not the fact one type would break. The former being pedantic cwazy and the latter a genuine concern for people.

    • i got both set, the mic version's cable will break at the Y intersection after a while. if you are not going to use with it phone, then get the non-mic version it has a better cable.

      • Both models use now the same cable. they keep revising their products. so what u have mentioned no longer applies.

        • -2

Well I had ordered the mic one last week and received it yesterday. And guess what, the M4 mic version I got is the one with old cable. What do I do know ?

This is really $hit when something is promised and you order only knowing that you will get the better cable version, but get the old version and this is when you order direct from MP4 Nation.

        • Where were you promised this?

      • However if someone doesn't have a compatible phone, I think they are better off getting the non mic one.

  • Rep - couple of Qs:
I read that the cable was different on the mic and non-mic version and that Razzer was looking to use the same cable on both version.

Does it come with a L shape jack?

    • excellence is not a rep;

With regards to cable's; I am not completely sure, however as Bashar mentioned in this comment thread, cables are the same

However the earphone has an L shaped jack

      As seen here
      http://www.head-fi.org/t/606070/review-brainwavz-m4

    • Right now both use same cable and both have an L shaped jack.

      • What's wrong with an L shaped jack? I prefer it. Means the cable doesn't bend (how all my IEM's broke) :(

        • +1

Nothing wrong with L shaped plugs. I personally prefer them.

    • Isn't the cable same on both versions now as long as unit is bought from MP4 Nation ?

      • yes

        • -2

  • my main concern are the wires keep rubbing against clothes and makes annoying noise on other headphones. how do these go?

    • These are quite loud when rubbing against clothes. If I need to use them while going for a walk or something, I just thread the cable through my shirt and this prevents those noises. It does come with a clip to attach the cable to clothing but I'm not sure if you want to use that in public…

  • I ran my car over the non-mic version of the M4 about 4 months ago (and still using it), but the mic version's cable (same cable as the Betaz) easily break (unfortunately). Just got another non-mic version of the M4. Thanks OP.

    • The Betas used to use a very thin cable, which is no longer the case.

  • Order placed! Went with the mic version :)

  • +1

Apparently the sony MH1C are the best IEM for this price range. I ordered a pair yesterday but do not have them yet ($26) :

    • +4

Ebay is full of fakes. pls report back when you get them.

      • +1

The wholesale price is $26 (by that I mean just the earphones nothing else). Not sure why anyone would want to fake $26 earphones. I bought them off a Hong Kong seller and they are great. The thread above is a good reference.

    • Where did you order from? Amazon won't ship here and the cheapest local price is $77

  • +1

How do these compare to Logitech UE 200s?

    • Similar question, how do these compare to Logitech UE 600?

      • +2

different sound, don't forget that UE600 cost twice as M4
UE600 has tighter bass, and treble extend a bit higher and has more sparkle
M4 bass has much more impact, bigger soundstage, and brighter treble
IMHO both are as good, just depends on how do you like your sound

    • Not even on the same level…M4 better by a million miles…

  • Perfect timing, my ones are getting iffy.

Only question is mic version on non mic version?
I know that either work fine on phones, but does mic version interfere or not work 100% when using through pc/speaker jack?

    • mic version works fine on my desktop and laptop.

  • -4

Pretty poor reviews of these on head-fi.org …. problems with build quality. I my last pair of brainwavz were DOA (no sound through 1 bud) & had to go through the hassle of refund….head-fi users are reporting some are being shipped with wiring out of phase.

I would stay away from these & get the sony mh1c. Better sound & $4 cheaper. At least nobody has had issues with them and no fakes have been reported so far.

  • I just ordered the mic version.
How fast is the fedex postage?

    • +1

once shipped, it will take 2-3 days to your doorstep

  • I too am curious about the R1s over these $15 more want to know how much better they are but there is no direct comparison. hmm…..

    • if you like your bass get the R1, also R1 fits better (more comfy)
IMHO - R1 is better than M4 for sure, and M5 is about on par with R1

      • I was so close to buying the R1 but was unsure about the over-the-ear design and if you HAD to wear em like that.

        • yeah, you do.

    • I have both too and like them both. R1 has a closer to V shaped sound signature, so, favours bass and treble a bit more. Also, it is worn over the ear, so the cable goes around your ear. If that sounds good, get it.

  • I bought a pair from last time and the quality is pretty good. My ears must be really strangely shaped because the left one does NOT stay in my ear no matter what I do. Noise cancellation is pretty good (public transport/gym music). I'd say these are a pretty good pair for backup/spare as long as these 'in-ear' styled earphones fit your ears.

    • +3

      Get some Comply foam tips

  • how do these compare with the KOSS KSC75s?

  • +4

Will the mic and controls on these work with a galaxy SIII?

    • +1

On an older post someone mentioned they worked on a HTV one X, so I don't see why they wouldn't

    • Yeah, that was my post. Used them with HTC one x and Samsung galaxy s3 without any problems.

  • Credit card option not working for me….

  • Went through paypal and it finally worked. Cheers OP and bashar for the help, opted for the non-mic version for lighter cable and just simpler look i guess. Cant wait to recieve it :D

  • Just bought it.. currently have sony set of in ears and looking to upgrade if these are better.. will let u know when I receive them !

  • Got a set, needed a new set of earphones!

  • Perfect timing, my Logitech UEs started to fall apart yesterday. Thanks OP.

  • Any of those amps worth getting? Will be using it with my phone on the train.

    • +1

Probably not unless you need one. There are benefits, but not really enough to outweigh the hassle of having to carry an extra device. I rarely use mine, my UE700s/Brainwavz B2s dont get much benefit from them.

  • Got a set of them with the mic :)
Dont really need them, but hey, good to have a(nother) spare.

  • How do these compare to Sennheiser CX300's?

    • Im guessing thats a higher model then my
      CX215's.

Not sure why anyone who uses headphones excessively would get a headphones online. If you were like me and go though headphones as fast as I can eat food then instore warranty is the king. Ive had my 90dollar headphones replaced about 3 times yearly or more. Mind you it comes with 3 years manufacture warranty already and extended warranty is about 15 for an extra for a year.

      • Never had a problem with warranty for my Brainwavz earphones bought online. I've had a B2 replaced and 2 sets of M4 replaced pretty much straight away.

    • +1

mate, I've had both and more sennheisers also, and these urinate over the sennheisers from a pretty large height.

If that is what you are using now you will not regret spending $30 of your hard earned cash on the M4.

      • +1

Not at all convincing, need more details whyyou say m4 > sennheisers. The cx215 are one of the best headphones ive ever had. Ive had countless others including sonys and other models of sennheisers and this model has been.the most durable, clear cutting thing ive heard. The sound doesnt at all fail after a period of time and feels fresh everytime you use it at max volume too. Has good clear bass that doesnt hurt you ears

        • +1

Then you havent listened to many good headphones sorry. They are all made in china, the cheaper ones even thailand and vietnam. Ive tried alot of the sennheisers you get from jb hifi and they sound almost identical to stock ibuds. I have the m2's and the sound quality and their soundstage is truly awesome for what i paid ($46 inc shipping) which is less than some sennheisers i tried. Sennheiser trade off their name and while they are a decent to great brand at higher price points, alot of their low range gear is completely shit.

        • +2

I wouldn't go so far to say that Sennheisers sound anything like stock earbuds but their low end range is pretty poor and they do have a pretty bad reputation despite their popularity e.g. CX300.

        • They are all made in china, the cheaper ones even thailand and vietnam.

I'm not quite sure what the point of "made in china" has anything to do with their sound quality. Pretty sure at least 50% of your household items are made in china.

Ive tried alot of the sennheisers you get from jb hifi and they sound almost identical to stock ibuds.

Like which ones? Are you aware the small range from JBHifi does not necessarily reflect the brand's entire range, let alone the amounts of lemons and gems a brand will produce? JBHifi will stock whatever the JBHifi-purchasing team believes will sell well to the market (i.e. Beats by Dre because of their hype).
JBHifi's Sennheiser headphones stand (where you stand and listen to their… 6 Sennheiser headphones) were utter crap.

Sennheiser trade off their name and while they are a decent to great brand at higher price points, alot of their low range gear is completely shit.

Their low range gear is not supposed to be priced at $79 as JBHifi asks for them.
It's only because we're in Australia that they're ridiculously priced. The CX300s were obtainable from mymemory.co.uk a long time ago for $20 to $30 delivered depending on the colour and variant, all legit cx300s (not available now.. no clue what the hell happened to their sennheiser stock).

At most a legit CX300 should have been priced at $40, but it's Australian Retailers that screw up your perceptions of their price points.

  • Placed an order for a mic version, thanks heaps for the link. Very timely too, my IEMs just died and the pair I got from JB HIFI were just terrible (Sony DR-EX14VP, recommended by sales person, returning them today).

  • I gave these away. Don't get these they are terrible. I would recommend the Brainwavz M2. Excellent value!

    • +3

Very surprised to hear that. What exactly was wrong with them?

  • Can I use this earphones for my Android phone? Do those button works with LG Nexus 4 phone? Such as function for PICK UP, HANG UP, MUTE, PLAY, PAUSE, NEXT SONG, PREVIOUS SONG.

    • +1

I've used these with HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy SIII and the remote button works fine (pickup, hangup, play, pause…). Now, this doesn't guarantee that it will definitely work on that particular phone but the odds are pretty good. Also, many Android phone owners asked similar questions on my previous posts about M4s and none seemed to complained about the remote later, this should be good sign too.

      • Thanks for your reply. As long as I can use the earphones to control music play, such next song, previous song, play/pause.

  • Hope these are better than the last brainwavz I got. They where faulty with one earphone lower in volume than the other.
