If you're in the market for an Apple computer - good time to buy a mac mini, reasonable time to buy a macbook air/pro, but if you want an iMac, new models are out later this month, so unless you can pre-order one of those don't get one.

    • Hi aeon
Why is it the best time to get a mini?
Been debating between a mini or a pro, cant seem to justify spending double when I already have a monitor and wireless mouse n keyboard and dont really need a portable device as have an ipad and galaxy tab.. Help..

      • Good time to buy a mini because it was recently updated with better processors and USB 3.0, October 23rd I think it was

      • As mentioned above it was just updated - Apple products are usually updated about once a year on average, and never drop in price (except on 10% sales and/or at stores trying to get rid of old stock)… so the best time to buy a new Apple device is usually following the release of a new model.

  • How about Apple TV? Is it 10% off too?

It says 10% off MACS… not Apple TVs….

    Basically down to US prices

    • all the US price excludes TAX.
and u need to pay extra TAX from 5-8% when you buy it in USA.

    • minus sales tax

  • Do JB Hifi have mac minis?

  • If you are near an Apple store, just price match. I've done it in the past when my local Dick Smith didn't have the Mac Mini I was looking for. The guy in the Apple store was more than happy to give it to me.

  • Yea. Prob go check out apple store this weekend.
    Price match Jb

    10% off already overpriced computers.

    • The Mac Mini is hardly overpriced. I paid just over $800 for the mid-range version from Apple. 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
and runs dual 1080 monitors natively without any addition cards / upgrades. Overpriced? I think not.

Plenty of anti apple people would say Apple products are overpriced till they own one. speaking of value, some of the very old macs which appreciate in value but never happen for other PCs.

      • runs dual 1080 monitors natively without any addition cards / upgrades. Overpriced? I think not.

And so can my 5 year old desktop with an AMD Phenom CPU. What's your point?

  • Thanks. Just price matched at Charlestown Apple store :)

  • will the apple store beat jbs price on the minis?

  • will myer price match jb?

    • The one at fountain gate said they would yesterday.

  • Does office works carry apple?

    • pretty sure no

  • how often are these sales? will there be another before xmas?

    • I think any answer you get is going to be a guess. Id assume no. Apple is rare to discount. JB doesnt these a couple times a year, but so close to XMAS..hmmmm id say no.

    • Buy it now and enjoy now since Macs are rarely discounted or buy refurbished ones later on.

      • Thanks. I would by one now except I would much prefer to buy direct from apple. to price match you have to speak to a rep and they are off or the weekend. It will be my first mac so was keen on their returns policy.

        • Can't you just go into the store and whip out (what is presumably) your iPhone and show them the banner on the JB Hi-Fi website?

I wouldn't stress. They give 10% off apple stuff every day of the year

  • anyone got a link to hard shell case for R MBP?

  • these are a bit of a con really because BJ hifi gives 10% off any day of the week for apple stuff

  • Pretty crappy resolution for the 13" MBP's; the Air models should not be outpacing the 'Pro' models in resolution.
If my 7" tablet has 1280 x 800, I would expect a laptop nearly twice its size to have a higher resolution, especially given the price tag.

  • Dear Mods,

    Please note: Expired.

    Thanks.
