Is it good enough to protect me from this guy? And how many levels deep?

    • +2

For a minute I thought you were gonna link it to Freddy Krueger.

      • me too.

  • Only 6500 dumb arses in the USA? I find that hard to believe, I would expect at least 20 million sales.

What's the actual complaint? Are you suggesting they don't work as avertised?

There are other products that work in a similar way. They sense the wearer is in REM (rapid eye movement) sleep and then use the lights to try and alert them to this without waking them up. The whole point is to realise you're dreaming without waking up.

I don't have a complaint, I'm just saying that people are easily fooled coughpower bandcough.

I wouldn't have a clue if this thing works as advertised, I've never used one, but there are a lot of lucid dreaming techniques that don't cost $100 which are probably just as effective as this voodoo.

        • Power band testing = "I feel better" aka placebo bullshit.

Remee testing = "We put it on our friends and family and they reported seeing the light patterns in their dreams, and we were able to use it to help us lucid dreaming."

Saying that you don't know if if it works and then calling it 'voodoo' is only telling us your opinion that is based on nothing. Sure there are free ways of trying lucid dreaming, but if this thing makes it easier to do something as amazing lucid dreaming, which is something have actually experienced, then I'm all for it.

  • Im excited about this, saw this in kickstarter ages ago and I missed out on the good deal, & this seems decent.

    Thanks OP and Happy dreaming!

    • Sorry accidentally downed your post.

Hmm I am an avid lucid dreamer, and I am not sure I would fork over for this.

I would want to see reviews for this from people who are familar with lucid dreaming and are having successess with other techniques.

I am not going to pull apart the info, but this device relies on people knowing when they are most likely to be in the REM state.

It does not seem to "sense" and react - at least not that I can see.

I think it would be useful to get people learning techniques to supplement a product like this especially "reality check" techniques etc to maximise the chances of lucidity.

Problem is imho that most people who try to sell these products are not actually familar with lucid dreaming.

Its not mystical, and its just like learning a new skill - and I must admit its pretty fun!

Oh and even if you do acheive lucidity, keeping it is an altogether different skill :)

    • The people who made it and the volunteers they had testing it claim to know a lot about lucid dreaming, they used it themselves.

We'll have to wait to see whether they were telling the truth or not though.

    • What do you do in your dreams?

  • I'm sorry, I read the OP's name as smegring…

    On topic:

Anyone want to post some links to what this is about? (scientific evidence/studies regarding lucid dreaming)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream

  • Rompastompa

have a look at links like http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2737577/

"Lucid dreaming" is definetely something that sounds like pseudo-science or sci-fi - and its not helped that its linked to "out-of-body" experiences, "psychic abilities" and even "alien abduction".

All it means is that while you are asleep you know you are dreaming, and have some level of control over it.

While you experience a lot of things, its all inside your own head.

  • This is my item of choice to invoke lucid dreaming: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calea_zacatechichi
Calea can be either smoked, had as a tea or made into an extract.
its extreamly bitter but well worth it especially for those who rarely recall dreams.

  • I used to be able to have lucid dreams when I was younger by going to bed super tired but now I can't seem to do it anymore

  • Very tempted to grab a set. Would like to see some reviews first though…
