Hoover PowerScrub XL Carpet Washer $298 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass) @ Bunnings

30

model number: FACCW21T0K
RRP$399

Not the best deal in history. Was on sale at The Good Guys for $287 about 2 weeks ago. Bunnings last had it on sale for $319.
The current sale price of $298 is reasonable.

The Hoover SmartWash Automatic Carpet Washer seems to be their latest flagship model but looks like the same thing other than a different brush scrub design and more autonomous features such as triggerless soap dispensing. I think the tried and tested design of the Hoover PowerScrub XL is much more cost effective.

  • Same price @ TGG

    • I suspect the TGG had a sale and the bunnings price compare crawler caught it beat it by $1 so they didnt have to price beat.

    Same advice as the Bissells:
Use only a small amount of solution and use hot water (from the tap). It still brings up a huge amount of dirt. Using the recommended dosage seems like a money spinner for the company. Too much solution can actually make dirt stick more due to residue.

I personally use a small splash of whatever solution I have, which will be even smaller when I change to the Peerless Steamy from bunnings

  • Great carpet cleaner. I used to use my friends Bissell and purchased the Hoover XL and love it. It’s easier to clean, the 4 circular brushes work better than the regular vacuum like brush bar and sucks better.
I also find the Hoover cleaning solution to clean better than the Bissell. The Paws & Claws solution is particularly good.

I bought one of these at $399 two weeks ago from Bunnings. Bunnings was able to price match it today & refund the difference back. After having two Bissells, including one that the motor blew up after its first use. The hoover is a solid machine.

    • that's good of them. I actually didn't realise they did this.
