AFAIK eBay funds it fully so the discount should be genuine (vs sellers co-fund discount where prices are jacked to cover sellers % margins). Best to use it on top of store's own discounted prices.
E.g.
Likely store sellers participating in a different promo (22% off) who contribute their % in the discounts.
Kicking myself for not jumping on the Avata 2 day one on ebay, it was going for $1250 with last months discount code.

Similar codes worked for me in the past, but you may never know with eBay…
Read the fine print, it usually says if it does not apply to accepted offers. I have been screwed by this before. I put in an offer and got accepted and then the code wouldnt work which ended up being more expensive than just outright using the code. Luckily the seller agreed to cancel the sale.
