Seems like they're doing one of these very few weeks now

    • Yep. Double dollars is the minimum I need to top up now… but even better if there's a stackable voucher or coupon to get more than double (like the recent $20 one).

      • +2

Waiting on the next $80 for $200 combo

        • +1

Maybe the only other way to do better is using ultimate gift cards when they’re on sale

    • +1

They jack up per play by 50%. Cost like $3 ($1.50) to play a game that takes 10 seconds and wins 8 tickets that cant even trade for a sherbie

      • Its been like that for years but the double dollar are way more frequent.

  • Can I load my timezone card at kingpin? Kingpin is closer to home and I have a gift card to use

  • Woolworths 20x bonus points with gift card. Essential getting 10% off plus double dollars.

Do ppl still go to timezone.. with $200 probably have more fun at pokies and end up with just as much

    • +1

I'm training Leeroy at timezone so when he's 18 I can help him get addicted to pokies

The misus was not happy I spent 80% of my credit on claw machines and the ROI was as bad as it gets 💀

Always like this until you get the biggest best plushie and then suddenly it's "our plushie"

  • +1

Legit get this, play lane master, get an average of 200 tickets a game and you can basically breakeven with a prize like the Nintendo Switch once you have enough tickets.

    • How many points is a Nintendo switch?

    • +3

I mean at the point you are grinding for hours on a single game to get 200 tickets to save up like 50000 tickets or something to get a Nintendo switch to "break even" why not just buy the switch with cash from the start?

      • +1

Because you get to play, the switch would be a bonus

        • +1

No i understand you get to play but to get the tickets to be able to get the switch you would have to play the same game for like 6 hours or something. At that point are you even having fun? lol

          • +1

@MrMoo: its not like you would play 6 hours all in one go, plus there are some other good machines too with similar ticket rates that are relatively easy to achieve.

  • I grew up with $1 per game arcades

    • $0.40 here. I feel nostalgic about 20 cent pieces.

      • however I guess house prices were maybe 100k back then

        • 100k for a good inner-suburb house. $40k for outer 3 bed 1 bath.

    • I saw a nostalgia post on reddit for $4.95 all you can eat Pizza hut.

      • +1

I don't know how much it is now or if it will be as good as we remember (unlikely)…but all you can eat is back in a select number of restaurants!

Looks like theres a trip to waterloo in my future.

    • Back in Canada in the 90s, Street fighter was 25c.

  • Does anyone have any tips and tricks for the coin pushers?

    • Avoid, avoid, avoid. You may as well play pokies…this may or may not apply to most of their machines though 😂😔

      • Which machine specifically applies?

        • I'm worried that you can't work it out by yourself…

  • A few practice sessions, patience and dedication should get you an average of 300+ tickets / game. Even @ $2.40 / credit the double dollars helps you get some prizes cheaper than you buy over the year. iPhone 15 pro max @ 480k tickets the rrp is $2200. If you are disciplined enough to play and win jackpot games like down the clown or bean bag toss at an average of 300 tickets / 480,000 = 1600 games x $1.20 (2.40/2) = $1920. A new phone comes come out every year so just play 1600 games over 52 weeks around 30 jackpots / week. Honestly 300 tickets / win Is conservative I feel 4-500 is quite easy once u get the hang of each game. There are a few games you can win 500-700/ game @ 2.40 or $1.20 it just takes a bit more time

Obviously this method isn’t for everyone but if you wanted to save up over the year for a prize it’s easy. With the double dollars coming up monthly. I think it’s a great way for the youths to “earn” a new phone maybe more appreciated than buying it outright

    • Quick drop for me. Can win jackpot 1/3 times generally. Though I’ve found jackpot and timer varies wildly per venue.

Melbourne crown recently changed from 600 ticket jackpot that I could win jackpots every second game, whereas now it’s 1000 tickets I might win 1/5 games at best. Timer is real short.

Quick Drop in Joondalup Perth was super easy. 2/3 games was a 600 ticket jackpot. The reset timer length is too easy.

      • Which one is the quick drop game? I recently played crazy tower and spent about 8-9 tries before I can get 1k tickets

I think you mean the one that drop red balls into buckets. That one never gives out jackpot. Just normal number of tickets

        • Yep. Drop the red ping pong balls and trust me, it pays out jackpots to me a LOT.

          • @Pelicannn: Ah I see how frequent can you get the jackpot and generally how much? Does it vary store to store?

I discovered today not all crazy tower pays the same Haymarket Sydney one only 500 where Western suburb 1k tickets

            • @neonlight: Comment above explains. Depends on store heavily though based on the settings. Easy stores I can get 2/3 jackpots. Harder stores are 1/5 or so.

    • Not sure which game you talking can get 500-700 tickets most games pay peanuts unless you win the jackpot only crazy tower and quick drop, they seem to vary in jackpot tix

If you are good at lane master maybe 300-400

However each venue got the machines appear to be adjusted for difficulty

Most of them last very short time for $240-2.80 per game VIP prices. Only very specific games got higher chance on getting high scores with ticket ratios

  • “Arcade credit loaded is valid for 12 months from the last in-venue use.”

So if I load double credits via app on the day but haven’t been to Timezone for say 10 months does that mean they’ll expire in 2 months?

    • -1

No, 12 months from loading date.

      • I remember seeing older T&Cs which said it's from loading date but maybe they revised it given the deal description. This would be consistent with what I've seen in my own Powercards which I definitely didn't use all of the credit within 12 months. Maybe they just never got around to clearing it.

Funnily enough, looking at one of my blue Powercards now in the app; last reloaded and used on 15 Feb 2023, and it still has an active balance of 40 cents.

  • +1

    do points ever expire?

    • I've checked with some of their staff. Points expire if you don't use/interact with your card for >12 months. So not playing or loading in credits for 12 months.

  • +1

Remember to check balance after top up. I did not get double points after topping up $60 this morning. She had to ask a senior member to fix. Glad I checked.

  • I just bought $100 Ultimate GC and realised it can't be used for payment in the App.

Do I need to go to the store to pay with GC? The shop is closed…

    • Really? Most of the ones near me a 10am to 10pm

      • +1

Well the nearest one is like 20 minutes drive…

I may wait for the next promo to top up in store

    • Cards are instore only, unfortunately.

Down the clown first few jackpots are easy, best to with 2 player. Down the clown you can get an easy 5000 tickets from 10 games if you’re skilled. Starting score required is usually 500 points or less. Goes up by 50 if you hit the score, make sure the game has enough balls before you start usually require 8+

Bean bag toss is the same , make sure you have atleast 6 bags. Score required usually 50k to start I can get Upto 100k+ if you have a partner and the machine lets u grab the bags before the clear plastic cover you can get an easy 5000 tickets as well.

Break the plate is a intermediate game, similar to down the clown. First game jackpot is 1000 tickets after that score goes up by 100 and jackpots is 500 tickets plus what ever you scored.

Just make sure you track your jackpots. Some centres pause payouts over a certain amount so you have to ask them to unlock ticket rewards.

Over the past 5 years I have redeemed iPhones and gaming consoles from Timezone and kingpin it’s been great. Sometimes it’s a grind but I’d rather pay $1000 over the year from double up reloads than paying $2000+ for a iPhone in one hit.
