Last Netcomm modem with VoIP I had would contastanly drop audio on the VoIP. This was a while ago, but be warned.

As someone who works for an ISP, I'd say skip Netcomm and go for anything made by Billion.

Kind of inclined to agree. I gave Netcomm another try with a powerline adapter a few months back, and I had to flash to a new ROM and go factory-state just so that Android could connect to it at "n" speed, although not a single device connects at the advertised 300mbps speed.

    • 7800N - best bloody modem out, specially if you're with tpg. Has snr tweaks and can really handle noisy/unstable signals, specially if your line is over 2km from exchange. No voip features though

      • DrayTek modems are better than billion.

Chipset wise yes. What about overall build quality / warranty / support?

        • At double the price. Too much complaints on whirlpool about those modems dying. I would've bought another netcom nb9w if I wanted a modem that would fail within a year.

  • preferences aside though, cheapest on static ice is around $172

    • Yup and you get a free 8gb usb key & also the voip handset. :)

  • At first look, the unit in the pic looks like a stack of mainframes/servers.

    • hah, it does a bit doesn't it.

      very "Matrix'ish" !

  • No one interested in our $12.95 iTunes cards hey?
