    anything for VIC?

    • Yes keen for 3 units in Vic also.

      • We install these in vic however prices are around 1500 including electrical, they normally get you with the electrical bit on these deals and end up charging you another 400-500.

        • +2

We included the electrical is hardwired into local power circuit. If individual circuit is required for standard meter box with enough space on single storey house is $90.

        • So you do them for 1100 if I've had a circuit board upgrade recently with spare space available? Looking in vic

    • Hi thank you for your reply. We only do WA.

  • -1

Is 1.5kW even enough for a small room

    • +1

This info is literally included in OP's description

      • -2

Lol yeah guess it was tldr

    • Hi,1.5kW can cover Maximum Floor Area 10 sq metres.

    • +2

100% I have a 2kw MHI unit in my small study and its overkill.

    • Am using same 1.5 kW from Coogle air for
3 years and it's working great in 10 sqm area.

  • Do you air seal your air con pipes.

  • +2

Anyone know of similar pricing in Brisbane. I got quotes for $1750 for same size.

    • I doubt it, I got quoted $3800 for a 2.5kW unit with a condensate pump. Seems like they take the piss, at least companies in the inner west.

  • +1

Sorry for dumb question: is it a reverse cycle system?

  • +2

This model has quite poor efficiency and is a low power, as notes it's only suitable for a small room (although this would also depend on the thermal performance of the property. It's hard to know what this is good for. Maybe heating/cooling a single room where the home is also energy efficient and well insulated.

    • I work from home and would like to cool/heat just my office during the day.
This sort of system would also be suitable for a bedroom.
If you think of a 2kw fan heater, it produces heat to warm a reasonable size single room.
1.5kw of cooling will likely be adequate for most small rooms, just not a big, open plan space.

I'm guessing this company received a cease and desist from Google for their original logo?

  • I know it's standard to tap into existing power line when installing a small split (as OP mentions - below 3.5kW) - I imagine in an old house with an existing 10 amp circuit, it could be easy to max this out if you had up to 10 GPOs on the circuit, especially if you start running high wattage kitchen appliances or a 2400w heater somewhere ? I've probably answered my own question but wouldn't it be best practice to run a new dedicated circuit (obviously adding to cost)?

    • -3

      or a 2400w heater somewhere ?

Yes, I regularly run a heater in the house while the a/c is on…

      • Im worried too as i want to run a 2400watt heater and boil the kettle on the same circuit as this aircon. Fingers crossed its ok

        • 10A total power draw per circuit isnt it? Should be able to add them up

          • +1

@Franc-T: 16A per circuit is standard

            • @dafatha: Just looked it up, i stand corrected (sorta).

10A for a normal socket, but as they are wiring from the main thats not relevant. I know for smaller systems you can mix a system and other devices but bigger systems would need their own circuit.

Either way can work out the consumption of the devices to get an idea of the max draw or just plug in a meter that wil do it for the kettle.

      • +2

You do know this is reverse cycle and can be used for heating?

    • Hi,We included the electrical is hardwired into local power circuit. If individual circuit is required for standard meter box with enough space on single storey house is $90.

  • +2

just a note that i had Coogle install my ducted aircon earlier this year and i was happy with their service.

Mitsubishi vs Mitsubishibishi Heavy Industries - which one is better?

    • MHI. I reckon you couldn’t go wrong at this price for a small room/office.
Choice latest reviews have Daikin on top then LG and MHI. Previous reviews had MHI on top. There is nothing in it on those models. Daikin must have come out with newer models.

MHI is expensive though. I am currently doing my entire house (one multi head with five wall units, and a 8kw system in the main area of the house. MHI installed was going to be over $15k, going Hisense $11k. The run of the Ac tube thingys is long, and two floors. None of my wall units are as small as this.
The Hisense also has wifi controls so can manage remotely, whereas it was going to be even more for the same in MHI.
Heart wanted MHI, wallet went Hisense.

      • I got 5kw Hisense in my living room because it was a great price, but paid a bit more (relatively speaking) and got MHI Avanti ~2kw (maybe 2.5) in my bedroom. I'm glad I did that because the MHI is quieter, which is good for in the bedroom.

        • How's the 5kw Hisense?

what was the installed the price for the 5kw Hisense and 2kw MHI ?

          • @JimB: I paid $2600 back in August and that included a wall bracket and removal of an old 7kw unit (5kw went in its place), AND then I got ~$100 cash back from MHI. It was just a bloke I found on FB. He did a bit of a shit job with the wall penetrations and the drains, but I can't complain considering the price, and so I just fixed those things myself.

The Hisense works fine but I notice it doesn't seem to cycle that often, so the outside unit is nearly always running. The outside unit also seems physically quite small, so I wonder if they are pushing it harder, and maybe it will have bad longevity? I used it past 5pm a couple of times and it used a ton of power (like 80% of its rating on a west facing lounge room, so plenty of heat soak in arvo, but still), so I stopped doing that and just turned it off when the sun goes down. Maybe it's so power hungry coz of inefficiency in outdoor unit, but whatever. It was cheap and it gets cold when I need it to.

And yer, the indoor unit is a few dB louder than a higher quality unit, so it might be annoying near a TV etc. But it's just whooshing/whirring noises, so not that bad any way (no worse than a pedestal fan for example).

The 2kw bedroom unit barely shows up on my power usage charts. After ~midnight I don't even think the compressor turns on, and the indoor unit just keeps gently blowing the chilled air. If you want efficiency, that's the way to do it = only cool a small sealed area.

I haven't had to use either them on heating mode yet though, so can't comment about that.

            • +2

@neRok: Inverter aircons can run at variable power levels so the compressor doesn't usually cycle on and off - better for the equipment to ramp up and down versus "bang-bang" on and off control

  • Anyone have information on whether the WiFi works with Home Assistant? Will place an order for three today if it works with no cloud bullshit

    • I have a larger one of these installed but i don't use HA - if i can answer any questions though let me know.

    • If it's a split system you can install an official add on module or use an aftermarket IR device like sensibo. I don't use sensibo but would expect easy integration. The add on module can connect to HA via HACS. There's a Melview integration but note it's community supported per HACS name. Last year it broke and was not updated for months so you're a little at mercy of the developer.

    • Also keen to know this re home assistant on the new Ciara range…

      • No I just got off the phone to MHIAA and they are not interested in Home Assistant, so I am not interested in MHIAA. No Home Assistant = No purchase

        • Lol just got a call from some useless old grandpa "expert" at MHI who had NO IDEA what Home Assistant was, and when I tried to explain it to him, he just kept doubling down on his wrong information and getting more and more unhelpful until he hung up. Looks like MHI is off the menu

In Vic you can get 5x TCL brand split systems installed for $5,000-$5,500 with the VEU rebate.

Not sure what the prices are for single units.

I'm trying to figure out if I just want to get 1 for the kitchen/living area or multiple for the whole house… or just fork out more for a reverse ducted system.

I've heard MHI is the one to get for longevity though.

    • Which installer?

Multi-head splits or 5 separate units?

FWIW I used Coogle last year for a 22kw MHI install which included removal of an ancient 30 year old system, lowish pitch roof too so was a fairly complicated install.

5 vans, 13 tradies and 12 hours later was installed. Very impressed with their work and would recommend.

    • That sounds like my situation. Could you kindly DM me to share specs and costs? Thanks!

Would love a VIC offer too. One of my Fujitsu units just packed it in with a compressor issue, only just out of warranty. Considering a change of brand.

  • Geez that's tiny. But good price with install.

    We're happy with our MHII

  • Shocking service from MHI. Had a air con fail under warranty. Spent 2 months trying to fix it and couldn't. Did everything in their power not to replace it under warranty. Now i am stuck with an air con that doesn’t work. Will never buy from them again. They have stopped responding to emails and requests to fix the problem

No idea about this specific system, but I had Coogle install a large ducted reverse cycle residential system approx 2 years ago, and was extremely happy with them - have since recommended them to a few friends (don't know if friends ended up going with them or not). Price was insanely competitive compared to a few other highly reviewed options (I think some quoted crazy high as they didn't really want the job, maybe?) Communication turnaround time was good, everything clearly explained but not at all pushy.

Installers showed up on time on the day they said they would, it took the amount of time they estimated, and they cleaned up after themselves.

    • Thank you very much for your recognition!

Another positive vote from a satisfied Coogle customer. I had a 7kw MHI system supplied and installed by them 18 months ago. Very happy with everything. Price was $2659 before the $200 MHI cashback. They decommissioned an old unit that had a faulty fan bearing so was making a loud whining noise and undersized for the room size. Price includes pipe run into ceiling and an extra 1m run as back to back was not an option for me unfortunately. Only added about $180 to the price. They took the old unit away.

Also had them do a 2kw unit a couple of years ago. Again very good price and great job done.

So while they may be advertising the cheapest unit with no additions here, be reassured if you do need a bigger unit or a more complicated install they will do it for a very good price for a good quality install.

For reference another mob quoted $4,787 for a 6kw Hitachi unit supply and install at the time I got the latest Coogle one done.

    • We are very grateful for your positive feedback!

  • Any SA love?

  • OP: Do above prices include GST?
