Vodafone works better than Telstra where I live so I guess it depends on your location.

    • +3

Honestly found it to be better than boost in the se suburbs of Melbourne.

      • I find the same thing in South Yarra.

Northside Brisbane I’m finding the Voda connections tend to get saturated during after school times where as Telstra and Telstra Wholesale keeps on chugging.

      • Same case in West too, no signal with Boost in shopping centres where as Voda is much better

    • Vodafone and Optus are now sharing regional coverage, so you will be absolutely fine there.

      • But they don't share metro coverage still…

man why don't they just all three providers share coverage i wonder if they do that in other countries

        • The government could just create the NMN and have everyone rent service from them.
But I don’t trust modern LNP and ALP to try that, especially after Abbott ruined the NBN.

    • Telstra limits its network too much because it’s too congested I got sick of the internet being constantly slow with Telstra so switched to voda and it’s been flawless. Partner and I even compared today in Chadstone (he’s Telstra) and his lagged frustratingly whilst mine on voda was fine

  • +1

Tracked at 82c. I wonder if it will change to $5 automatically?

    • Sorry to hear. Cashrewards has been having a few glitches. Please take a screenshot of the offer. When you click on that transaction, you can "Contact Support" and submit a "support enquiry". Cashrewards replied within a few business days recently.

      • @trixieb I cannot find this my app

"Contact Support" and submit a "support enquiry"
Could you point me exactly where do you see it? Thanks.

        • +1

You will see that on the website.

On the app, "My rewards", at the top right hand side of the Vodafone transaction, next to "PENDING", click "ENQUIRE". This will take you to the "Enquire" page.

          • At the top right hand corner, go to "My Account"
          • Under "Reward activity", click on the Vodafone transaction
          • At the bottom left hand corner, click "Contact Support"
          • Support enquiry page will show up
          • At the bottom, click on the down arrow
          • Choose "Incorrect cashback"
          • "Continue"
          • Fill in the details with the $5 amount, order number, screenshot of $5 offer from CR
          • +1

            @trixieb: Thank you so much.

          • @trixieb: I love how that is so convoluted to get to the right 'automated' report tab whereas if you follow the enquire path on the cashback page it just shunts you to 'wait 7 days you pathetic worm'.

            Ah, Cashrewards.

    • same, raise a dispute already.

    • Likewise my purchase tracked at $0.82.

Seems par for the course having to manually correct every Cashrewards tracking lately.

    • +1

I raised the issue but it has been two weeks without a response so expect it to be rejected

      • +1

$5 is offered and was tracked at $5 in March. I've informed Cashrewards about the tracking issue and received this auto reply:

Please note we are currently experiencing a high amount of enquiries coming through. A member of our team will be in touch within 5 business days regarding this purchase. Should we need further information to assist with your claim we'll reach out to you. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

  • +1

Sorry for the dumb question - is this a SIM that comes with a new phone number, handy for throwaways?

    • +3

      Yes.

  • -3

$5 CR is for prepaid phone plan. Is it different from prepaid SIM plan?

    • Prepaid phone plan would be the same as prepaid SIM plan.

Same offer posted here and tracked at $5.

      • Same wording "Prepaid Phone Plans" in April.
  • +3

Same CR tracking issue with this Vodafone deal last month.

Plus they have particularly poor form with Optus not tracking at all, which is even worse.

Hope they lift their game …

  • +4

Cashrewards stinkin up its reputation again

  • +1

Cashrewards did not track my over $100 cashback order either.

    • What deal was that for?

  • Looks great for number churning, thank u

    • Just remember the service must be activated within 30 days of purchase for cashback.

      • For sure! This checks out at $5 after cashback, hoping to use it for Uber eats haha
( still trying to figure out the method for multiple accounts, I think they’ve caught on to my credit card…)

  • -1

75 Gb just only 35$ for real??? Anyway,I always prefer Vodafone no issue when go to countryside.

    • $10 really

    • Plus "unlimited" internet at 2mbp/s

      • +1

        1.5Mbps - Infinite Data
First use all other data, then use infinite data at speeds of up to 1.5Mbps until your recharge expires.

But yeah, I wasn’t aware that for a prepaid service you are also getting this “unlimited data” feature, this is pretty good.

        • Last month I enjoyed no speed limit for a long time till expiry. It may not apply sometimes.

          • @Neoika: You actually got infinite speeds after using all your data? Was it the same plan. I might skip Felix if so

            • @quill: When the feature was introduced, I had it for no speed limit on the first SIM. Later, it did apply speed limit. I have three SIMs activated since March with only the first one (old $30 SP) being speed limited. The two old $50 SP had no speed limit till expiry.

There's no guarantee that no speed limit can last, but it may be useful for people only on the first 28 days.

  • What does new vodafone customer mean? If I recently ported away from voda last month and want to activate this for family member arriving to AU, would that count?

    • You can port out and port back on the same day if you like.

  • Is there a limit for each CR account?

    • It's one SIM card per order/transaction. I wouldn't recommend buying more than one SIM (separately) as the purchase is tracking at 82c instead of $5. I've informed Cashrewards of the error yesterday.

      T&Cs:

Cashback is paid once per order/transaction, regardless of the number of plans purchased on that order.

  • -2

TCB didnt honor my last price beat claim for vodafone, this deal.

    • +1

TCB has 15% cashback on Prepaid Mobile Plans whereas Cashrewards is $5 cashback. They are not considered equivalent for a price beat.

I haven't done a price beat with TCB and there is a list of T&Cs.

      TCB Price Beat:

The cashback offer must be a direct equivalent of the rate listed on TopCashback, i.e you can’t claim for a percentage if we offer an amount in dollars.

  • A word of warning, I signed up for this same offer 2 months ago and didn’t receive any cashback from Cashrewards because Vodafone refused to issue a tax invoice to support the payment. Searched online to find this posted on the Vodafone website:

“Under the law, businesses are only required to issue a Tax Invoice for services that exceed $82.50 (including GST). Therefore, we are only required to issue a tax invoice if an individual transaction is greater than $82.50.”

Vodafone repeatedly transferred me from one department to another, and ultimately directed me to visit a store in person to request an invoice. However, the in-store team informed me that generating the invoice was not possible. So I gave up and took the $10 hit. But hey, at least I didn’t pay full price $35 for this….

    • Sorry to hear.

didn’t receive any cashback from Cashrewards

Do you mean your order didn't track? The order has been reported to track today at 82c instead of $5.

      • +1

Yeah mine didn’t track at all.
Vodafone wouldn’t provide an invoice, and Cashrewards required one to process the claim. The only proof I had was a PayPal invoice showing the amount and timestamp, but they rejected it. Hopefully yours will track

        • +1

Thanks. I didn't buy this SIM and not a Vodafone customer. (Happy with Telstra)

It's disappointing that the PayPal proof isn't sufficient for Cashrewards or Vodafone. Considering it's only $5 and not a huge amount for Cashrewards or Vodafone to pay.

I assume you don't shop via Cashrewards anymore after this experience.

        • That sucks.

I now take screenshots throughout the purchase process … it's sad that it's come to this.

          • @UrMumsOnlyFan: And it's more often than not now with Cashrewards that my purchase doesn't track/or at the correct amount initially and I have to do a manual claim. Sucks.

Directing my cashback purchases through TopCashback where I can these days because at least TA is t/here if things go badly wrong.

            • +1

@wavesgreen: I probably won't post any more Cashrewards offers as they are unreliable. I've experienced better service from ShopBack recently compared with Cashrewards. TopCashback is definitely the top cashback site especially with TA there.

          • +1

@UrMumsOnlyFan: Maybe this reflects the NON-transparent nature of these inventivised-purchases, especially 1-month churn sims.

There is NO-remedy for rejectED money-back claims & hence it IS a gamble.

            I now take screenshots

I've been doing this since day1, Apr-24…as well as keeping record via MS-Words to meet criteria, eg activation deadline & screenshots of activation-date. The whole process is time consuming & when things goes wrong, I question whether the savings worth it, lol?

With NET-cost going up, Lebara 1 month sim-plan is competitive via stocking periodic-sales: online with free-post, Coles/WW/OfficeWorks. NO risk of money-back claims. https://www.lebara.com.au/prepaid-plans/30-day/

            • @ab c: Another option is Amaysim 50GB for $10 at Coles. I haven't used Lebara.

  • Tracked at 82c. Have since submitted an enquiry.

  • -4

    1 month churn-sim: any better deals? $5 NET-cost, pay $10 with $5 money-back claim.

Vodafone-CR: money-back claim likely HIGH-risk, as per comments here.

    Boost-TCB: $8 NET-cost, pay $13 with $5 money-back claim. My TCB-experience since Sep-24 has been good, https://boost.com.au/?utm_id=82559&cfclick=2e58ceaf9f3547eda…

Lebara: currently 80Gb plan for $12, but I those who can live with 40Gb-SMALL-30d plan should keep an eye on for periodic-sales. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/896610, https://www.lebara.com.au/prepaid-plans/30-day/
I still have Lebara spare-sims as back-up & did notice NET-cost were trending upwards & got neg for stating the obvious, lol.

    • -3

      Weird…is there a knowledge-gap?

I share actual & factual experience. Any churn-sim expert?

  • Just purchased a SIM. Still tracking at $0.82. Took screenshots and have submitted a support enquiry.

  • Has anyone heard back from CR support?

    • Nothing yet.

    • -1

Not sure why you were negged for asking a question.

  • +1

    Now

    Prepaid Phone Plans $0

    • Thanks. Updated post. Screenshot of $5 offer is in the post description.

      • I have used up all data on it again this month, but the speed limit hasn't applied for 12 hours. To be more clear, I am on an old $50 SP that was activated as the current $55 SP.

  • TopCashback has 25% Cashback on Prepaid Mobile Plans. If you need another SIM, it will cost $7.50 after cashback with TopCashback. SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase. Offer ends 7th May 11:59pm AEST.

  • +3

Cashback of $0.82 on my account has changed to $5.00 now. Not heard back from customer support.

    • +1

      Good spot. Mine aswell.

    • Customer support got back to me on Friday I think it was, apologising for the initial incorrect tracked amount and that it had now been corrected.

  • Mine didn't even track. Only just been able to submit a claim. 7 days is far too long to wait compared to Shopback's 5 days.

    • +1

If you follow the CS contact path trixieb posted above you can submit an enquiry right away.

  • TopCashback has 25% cashback again on Prepaid Mobile Plans. It will cost $7.50 after cashback. TCB link. SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

  • Just received this from CR:

    Hi Reece,

Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your Vodafone purchase. I hope you are doing well.

After having a look into your order confirmation, I can see that you have purchased a Prepaid Starter Pack. I would like to note that the Vodafone store page states,

Cashback is ineligible on the following
    - Upgrades, additional services, add-ons, recharges, home internet, handset & tablet repayments, starter packs with multiple preloaded recharges, Business Flex products, and any plan not listed in the schedule of rates on this page.

I am not able to further investigate this purchase as it does not comply with Vodafone’s terms to be eligible for cashback.

Sorry that I could not provide better news for you. I recommend reviewing each store’s Special Terms and familiarising yourself with our Cash Back Tips when making future purchases to ensure your transactions are eligible for cashback.

Thanks for understanding. Have a great day.

    Sincerely,
    John

We’re here to help! Please keep your enquiry professional and respectful so we can best assist you.

    • Did you buy the prepaid starter pack listed in this deal or something else? The conditions state that cashback is ineligible for "starter packs with multiple preloaded recharges". So if the starter pack does not have multiple preloaded recharges, i.e., just a prepaid starter pack valid for 1 month only then you are eligible for cashback. I have the correct pending cashback of $5 in my account after I purchased this prepaid starter pack.

    • @Frunk You mentioned your order didn't track. Did you purchase the $10 75GB 28-Day Prepaid Starter Pack on 3rd May? You submitted a missing cashback claim after 7 days on 10th May.

If you purchased this SIM on 3rd May, there was $5 cashback offered. Here is the screenshot. It is not a starter pack with multiple preloaded recharges. I would suggest replying to Cashrewards with the screenshot of the offer. With the orders that tracked, the incorrect tracking amount of 82c was corrected to $5 on 6th May according to the comments. Cashrewards ended the $5 cashback offer (to $0) on 6th May as per the comment here.
