  • Just to clarify please if I buy a $2k gift card, I'll end up with $200 Everyday Rewards Dollars? or will it be the reward points that will be worth less in reward dollars?

    • +4

You will get Everyday reward points which you can convert to Qantas points or to $200 reward dollars.

      • Got it, cheers

    • can you buy one that big?

Does anyone know if these follow a trend? Been waiting for Airbnb since February and I’m fairly sure Apple has been 20x twice in that time.

    • Yes Apple gc happen way too often rather it be replace with something more practical use

  • -3

Oh great ato told me to buy these ASAP so points as well !

    • I know, same! What's the chances!!!!

      MY LUCKY DAY!

  • Assume it won’t stack with the 10% off from their subscription service?

    • +1

No. You don't get 10% off on gift cards.

  • @HolyCr4p here you go

  • Can Apple gift cards can be used to buy refurbished devices from the edu store?

    • +1

      Yes, Ive done it myself.

  • Would Apple price match Officeworks for the upcoming iPhone sale?

    • +5

      In-store or over-the-phone at 133 MAC

      No.

Apple can price match an authorised Apple reseller (e.g. Officeworks, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys), but the maximum discount they will offer is 10%.

For example, if we look at the iPhone 15 Pro 128GB, Apple usually sells this for $1849, but Officeworks will sell it for $1587 during the upcoming EOFY deal. If you asked Apple to price match Officeworks during this deal, Apple will only drop the price to $1664.10 (as that is 10% off Apple’s price).

Online at the various Apple stores (e.g. regular, education, AOC, EPP)

      No.

  • Does this stack with Everyday Extra 2x points offer?

    • negative. gift cards never stack.

  • Hey OZB, first time I'm considering purchasing a bunch of Apple Gift Cards with the 20x Woolies points - just want to confirm my understanding:
    - I can buy up to 10x GC's in a day that will multiply 20x of dollar spent into woolies points
    - For every 1000 woolies points, these convert into QFF points
    - 10x $100 gift cards for $1,000
    - $1,000 x 20x woolies points = 20,000 woolies points

With the QFF point converter of woolies points to qantas points, I should gain 20,000 qantas frequent flyer points for the 10x $100 gift cards purchased?

    • +2

20000 Rewards points to 10000 Qantas Points.

      • Hmm… I’m sure when I turned on QFF points conversion it was 1:1. It’s clearly not now, did they sneak that one through without telling customers?
Regardless it’s still better to convert. 0.8 equivalent value of a Woolworths point vs 1.9 for a QFF point.

  • Is there any limit on the number of Apple gift cards to purchase Apple products such as Macbook pro or Macbook air online?

    • +2

      Physical Apple Stores

Staff at the Apple Store previously told me I could redeem a maximum of 20 Apple gift cards in one in-store transaction. This is in line with the redemption limits listed on the Apple website:

You can use up to 20 Apple Gift Cards for one transaction when you purchase at an Apple Store.

Over the phone at 133 MAC

I believe the redemption limit is 8 Apple gift cards per transaction.

Online at Apple's various online stores (e.g. regular Apple Store, Apple Education Store, Apple EPP portals, Apple AOC Education Stores)

The redemption limit is 8 Apple gift cards per transaction.

Alternatively, you can add Apple gift cards to your Australian Apple Account Associated Balance and then redeem that balance over the phone at 133 MAC or online at Apple's various online stores (and you can redeem up to 8 Apple gift cards in conjunction with the Associated Balance in the same transaction). You currently cannot redeem an Associated Balance in a physical Apple Store.

  • does anyone know the maximum/highest value possible for a single gift card?

  • has anyone successfully managed to get a macbook just using giftcards?

  • haha I tried to buy some apple gc from officeworks and put it on zip-money (officeworks has 12 months interest free with zip), but they said gift cards CANT be bought with zip or afterpay LOL
however, amazon does allow it, but its only 6 months interest free, which is just fine. Helps with the cash-flow to pay it off like that. I got a few from ww too, got my points woohoo.

Hey guys, please before you pay, open the gift card and check the number under the voucher code box is matching the number on the outside of the sleeve. E.g. If the outside card starts with GCA, your card inside also needs to start with GCA.

I bought a card today, the sleeve looks perfect and not tempered with. So I didn’t open the card.

When I went home I couldn’t redeem it. I called Apple and found out the card inside and outside is mismatched. (number on sleeve started with GCA but the card inside starts with PBH.) I went back to the store but they couldn’t refund me. Will have to go back tmr and see if the store manager can assist.

    • +1

where did you buy it from? thats so crappy, hope you get it sorted

      • +1

Thanks @grantster - from Vic Eltham Woolies store.

Hope they’ll be able to refund me tomorrow😢🙏🏼

    • +1

These fraudsters are getting really good. How in the world they can open the sealed card, replaced with a dodgy one and seal it back up as though it has never been opened? Surely if it's been tempered with you can tell.

      • +1

@runamuck that is the thing, they have gotten so good, you actually can't tell without not opening it! The store was shocked they said they had thrown out the old ones on the shelf and put the new stock onto the shelf. I took the whole stack of them and picked out one from the middle too.

It's interesting, the voucher inside actually looks legit with the sticker that can peeled off too. Apple told me it was possibly a misprint (which I highly doubt, I opened another card in the store in front of the clerks, and it was again having the mismatch), but who knows, it could be an inside job even.

    • yeah I bought 10 cards today (VIC Blackburn south) and 5 of them were like that :(. They were behind the counter as well and i had to ask for them, so i thought no chance they're tampered with.

I went back to the store and they said they couldn't refund, but they took my contact details and said they'd call me tomorrow. I called Apple as well, and they seem to be pretty helpful and they said they'd send me replacement codes in 24-48 hours.

      • +1

Sorry to hear that @IsaiahW 😢 it really sucks!

I’m glad you got a resolution though. I haven’t gone back to Woolies stores just yet, coz Melbourne weather is horrid today - where I am anyway. Hoping to get it sorted by going back to Woolies in the next few days.

        • Apple just told me they couldn't send me replacement codes, since the program where they handle the replacements is only in the US and UK. They told me to go back to Woolworths and ask for a refund there.

The store manager from woolies called me back and asked me for photos of the gift cards, which he said he forwarded on and I should get a reply in 5-7 days. did you get a resolution?

          • @IsaiahW: @grantster nah, I called on Thursday spoke to the store manager. They wanted my physical giftcard/giftcard sleeves and receipts. I’ve only had the chance to go in today.

@IsaiahW I went into the store today, unfortunately no one that is able to process a refund is on deck as it was after 5pm. So I left my contact details and the giftcard + receipt with them. I didn’t really want to leave it but they insisted I should so I did. Just waiting for someone to get back to me in the next few days to see how to proceed.. 🫠

  • amazon only sells 500 max per 24 hours :P
I'll need a few days now to get the next few 500 gcards hahahaha

  • Is this still active?

    • Yes, it expires at the end of Tuesday (and this is indicated in the deal description).
