It's Back! Samsung Ultrabook Sale - $598 NP530U3C-A03 - $758 NP530U3C-A06 - Free Shipping

651

We have had a ton of people ask us whether we would be getting more of these machines in after we sold out last time. We have some good news we have finally been able to secure some more stock. Even better we have dropped the price! Very limited stock though!

We expect this last shipment to arrive before the 30th but we are just hedging our bets as there have been a lot of delays recently due to the amount of windows 8 stock that has been pushed back to the end of the month. If the stock arrives sooner we will start shipping immediately.

UPDATE: Price drop on the np900x3c-a01 as well: http://flingshot.com.au/products/samsung-np900x3c-a01

This time we are going to play a slightly different game. Somewhere on our site we have hidden a link, find it and post the code on the page it links to and we will give you a $50 voucher for anything on the site. One winner only first in best dressed.

Winner from the previous deal the Netgear comp was wtfnodeal, PM us for your voucher code.

  • Is it this 'Don't forget to plus us on OZB'?

    It links to ozbargain lol

    • Haha do you think that we would make it that easy!!!

    • Indeed :) ..anyways Great price!

  • On the plus side I think this new game might make those people who don't like tons of posts on a thread happy ;)

  • Clicking each and every item to look but don't know what I'm looking for haha.
    My eyes are going crazy!

    • We will give it a bit of time, and then we will start the hints to narrow it down, there are 500 plus pages on the site…

      • "there are 500 plus pages on the site…"

That's highly demotivational haha.. but must soldier on!

        • +7

We are just trying to inspire a frenzy of clicking, so to speak ;)

Actually maybe that is a bad idea, after seeing what happened to their poor webserver…

This is not the link, but I love the sentiment of the text!

        Where was it?

        • Oh I didn't know that it wasn't going to be in a hyperlink style - you should probably state this lol, I was looking for a blue link sitting somewhere in your site.

        • Yup, eyes are definitely borked.. I still don't see it haha.
          Congrats jackofspade!

        • Pity I didn't look at the guides :(

I was about to buy myself Audix i5 myself from Amazon US just TODAY :S

        • Just curious if our price of $118 would be close enough after shipping?

        • Audix i5 is around $100 (+$8, shipping) Amazon at the moment. However, I decided to just go for trusty Shure SM57 from an authorised dealer instead though :)

        • Oh the humanity! Just kidding. But seriously you should definitely try out the i5.

Keep in mind with that, Amazon doesn't charge tax, so our price is technically cheaper if not effectively. That said if you want the i5 we will match it for you even if you want to wait for a while before purchasing. We are starting to bring in stock of smaller items like mics which will mean our shipping times will go down from 3-4 weeks to 5-7 days.

        • I still can't see the code. I'm using an iPad. Does that matter

        • The code is on the 'e' in 'fine' in the part where it says "instrument and vocals then this will be fine."

          WINNING

    • bwuahaha, so smart.
      Hands down to you..

  • Dang it! Haha so where was it?

  • +3

Hahaha you just had to search "ozb" on the search bar :P

  • We have had a ton of people ask us…

A ton of people = 5 morbidly obese persons (average 200 kg, source: guestimate) ?

A ton of people = 11.7 Aussie male (average 85.2 kg, source: ABS) ?

I'd say the response is not so good and the demand is not too great :-)

    • It's spelled tonne in this country :p

      • No, ton and tonne are both different units.

        ton = ~900kg
        tonne = 1000kg

        • +1

I was rolling with his play on words. The accepted spelling when used in the sense of a lot of something is ton. Whereas we use a metric "tonne" here, in the US it is spelled "ton" and represents a different weight.

        • +3

Who cares how it's spelt or what context it's used in. Basically two average Americans

        • I am not sure I follow you there.

        • Americans = morbidly obese. 2x Avg Americans = 1 ton (metric or otherwise :P)

        • +1

LOL, not enough sleep for me last night!

  • what colour is the notebook? samsung website shows a few colours

    • Graphite grey.

  • "Even better we have dropped the price!"
The price is more expensive than last time $585 (after $50 coupon) compared $598.

Could you offer the same price as last time?

Additionally, the option of Ram upgrade last time was $50, but now is $57.

Could you add the option of upgrade to SSD as well?

If we r gonna order it now, when the item will be dispatched? Thanks!

    • The coupon was for the np550 not the np530, so the price last time was $635 shipped.

As for the RAM it is $57 now vs $50 last time, but it is still cheaper with 8GB than last time. We changed the price to take into account the installation and testing time.

    • Last time its $635. The $50 coupon applies to the more expensive higher end Samsung model. I know because I ordered one and tried the coupon thinking it would work this ultrabook.

Im happy with the purchase and will buy 2 for christmas gifts.

  • Shame the screen resolution is rather ordinary.

Dont suppose you can get in the zenbooks? (1920x1080 resolution)

  • Looking for an ultrabook for my gf's birthday.
The only problem with this ultrabook is the size of the SSD - only 24gb.
Would it be enough? any upgrade option on SSD?

    Thanks

    • Le google says it accepts standard 7mm drives, so you can upgrade it yourself. Alot of the new SSD's are 7mm compatible.

      • Don't think I can do it myself as I'm not tech savy enough.
My gf will only be using this laptop for internet and doing uni assignment. Would it be enough?

        • 24GB is a cash drive SSD for the 500GB ( not a hard drive partition or SSD ).. it pretty much makes this laptop boot super fast and feel snappy but with the added bonus of 500GB's

I wouldnt bother buying an SSD unless you were very fussy about power usage and the extra speed on installing apps.

    • Updated with 120GB SSD pricing.

      • Isnt any SSD upgrade available for other 2 models ?

        • We can add pricing for the the np530 if requested, again last time people only seemed to want it with the cheaper machine. As for the np900 unfortunately not, it is msata and we don't have msata drives currently.

        • Just a clarification … there are SSD upgrades available for the np900x3c (13.3"), just not from Flingshot.

        • That is exactly right, we don't have msata currently, though we are looking at sourcing them.

  • Sorry about that.

btw, any options to upgrade to SSD like last time? Thanks

    • Wanted to know as well

      • Added 120GB SSD pricing. We haven't added 240GB because no one ordered it last time.

  • Rep, regarding the VGA, what is that port?

As I wanna connect the Laptop to 2 external monitors for EXTENDED display, I wanna know what that VGA port is? Thanks!

    • It only has a single video output. So you would need something like the toshiba dynalink in order to run two external monitors.

      • Hi, my curent Old HP laptop dv4-1540 has a normal HDMI and one normal VGA.

I could use one HDMI connect to one monitor and VGA port to connect to another monitor and it works perfectly fine.

By the way, how to do fresh install Win 8? as there is an express SSD for boosting speed.

        Thanks!

        • Unfortunately most of the ultrabooks only have a single video out. Which is why you would need an external device if you wanted two monitors.

If you pay for the win8 upgrade you can do a clean install on these machines, the caching ssd won't affect that.

        • But the ultrabook still has 2 ports both HDMI and VGA (needs adapter).

So, I can easily format and do a clean install as usual. The SSD is just physically there installed for caching purpose.

        • I just GG, the Ive bride supports upto 3 monitors (Sandy bridge is 2)

however, I only connect to 2 monitors with laptop screen off.

do u think the laptop supports it?

        • hi Rep, does the laptop include the VGA dongle in the box?

        • Sorry I think I was very unclear above. There is one digital out (HDMI) and one analog out (VGA w/ break out cable) the cable is optional though. As long as you have a monitor with an analog in and another one with digital two monitors should be ok. You will have issues though if both monitors require VGA.

        • Is the VGA dongle/ adaper included in the box? Samsung website says it is included

(The VGA port is samsung proprietary port and is around $40 on Amazon, I therefore have to make sure abt this)

          Thanks!

        • No unfortunately the VGA adapter is option. I just checked the box and manual.

          This is for the np530u3c-a03

        • thanks Rep, it's stupid that SS makes an inconvenient proprietary VGA port and sells it separately for pricey over $40

        • Well the issue is the size of a VGA port, they just don't fit in an ultrabook chassis, so they need to make a breakout cable. That costs more obviously and very few people want it as HDMI is built in. So it just adds to the expense. Basically the people buying those cables are subsidizing the cost of putting a useless hole into everyone else's machine ;)

        • instead of a proprietary port, a mini VGA could be a better alternative :-).

this makes me reconsider to purchase this Laptop and might think of Acer S3 i7 - 2nd Gen with 256Gb SSD (1.35kg) offered by OnlineComputer for $699 (after $99 cash back)

  • does this use ivy bridge?

    • +4

      Yeah it does
      How to tell:
      i5-460m = Arrandale
      i5-2xxx = Sandy bridge
      i5-3xxx = Ivy bridge

Of course there are the i3 and i7 variants, but that's just a quick example how to tell

      • thanks!

  • Does the NP530U3C have a hybrid drive or 2 drives? Can you swap out the 500Gb for a 1TB?

    • +1

Yes. Ivy Bridge Core i5-3317U Dual Core 1.7GHz to 2.6GHz Turbo 3MB Cache

Edit: woops, this should be in reply to the comment above. sorry.

    • Yes you can upgrade the 500GB to a 1TB.

  • Delivery period?

    • They won't ship until the 30th potentially, though we are working to get that moved closer. After shipping usually 2-3 days depending on where you are in Australia.

      • 30th of this month?

        • Yeah sorry 30th of Nov.

        • -1

          Awesome, just brought one
          Thanks

        • +1

Why did you bring it from?

  • I was so close to getting this model a few months back but settled on a Folio 13.

  • Do i need an optical cd driver for np530? Also is the battery and ram removable?

    • You can upgrade the RAM. There is no CD drive, whether you need an external is pretty much a matter of taste these days. You can certainly get away without one. The battery can be replaced also but it is not technically user replaceable like older notebooks.

  • Will you give me an australian tax invoice if i purchase this ultrabook?

    • Absolutely.

  • Anyone not using their voucher? Is there any promo code I can use, I'll be more inclined to buy this deal if there is one. Thanks

    • I am not sure if you will convince someone to give away their voucher. This is a straight up discount, so no promo code needed.

  • I would love it if you could get some of the new Chromebooks!

  • Oh another question, I can't seem to find anyone but you with the Asus F501A-XX041H/043H online, I'd like to get a better look at it, what should I look for?

  • +1

I heard the flingshot rep was cool, my expectations have been exceeded +1 good sir!

    • +1

      Thanks!

Just curious where you heard that?

      • +1

It's hidden text in your website.

        • LOL

  • Hi flingshot, will it come with Windows 7 or 8? I didn't fully understand what you meant by, "…lot of delays recently due to the amount of windows 8 stock that has been pushed back to the end of the month."

    • Sorry that was a little confusing. It ships with win7 but you can upgrade to win8 for $15 through MSFT. The windows 8 reference was only in regard to shipping delays lately due to so many machines having landed in the last week or so.

  • What is your return policy and procedure for warranty repair?

    • Yeah, I wanna know this too.
As you upgrade the RAM or SSD manually, does this void Samsung warranty?

If we select the original model, is the warranty on-site pickup?

      • I upgraded my ram yesterday. There is a 4GB onboard and only 1 free slot. I bought a 8GB DDR3 1600 SODIMM module and stuck it in. Thanks to Flingshot support for actually checking a 8GB module would work! Many sites only say it supports 8GB max, so I wasn't sure if only an additional 4GB would work.

Anyway, it is working nicer now with 12GB ram. SSD is my next upgrade.

RAM upgrade should not void warranty as it is outlined in the manual. Not sure about HD upgrade though.

        • Hi Marquise,

Do we have to purchase the RAM from the same manufacture with the on-board one? To what I know, RAM from different manufacturers might cause unexpected issue sometimes (unstability)

How much for the RAM, where u get it and how easy to do?

We need a special screw tool? Where to get it? Thanks!

Do you think 12GB will actually be nicer, as I think the Laptop will never use up 8GB? So no difference between 8GB and 12GB, What are your opions?
