It's Back! Samsung Ultrabook Sale - $598 NP530U3C-A03 - $758 NP530U3C-A06 - Free Shipping

651

We have had a ton of people ask us whether we would be getting more of these machines in after we sold out last time. We have some good news we have finally been able to secure some more stock. Even better we have dropped the price! Very limited stock though!

We expect this last shipment to arrive before the 30th but we are just hedging our bets as there have been a lot of delays recently due to the amount of windows 8 stock that has been pushed back to the end of the month. If the stock arrives sooner we will start shipping immediately.

UPDATE: Price drop on the np900x3c-a01 as well: http://flingshot.com.au/products/samsung-np900x3c-a01

This time we are going to play a slightly different game. Somewhere on our site we have hidden a link, find it and post the code on the page it links to and we will give you a $50 voucher for anything on the site. One winner only first in best dressed.

Winner from the previous deal the Netgear comp was wtfnodeal, PM us for your voucher code.

        • I bought Kingston ram from MSY for $42.
Firstly kill the battery power to the board by removing AC adapter and using a paperclip to push a little hole at the bottom (You'll know when you do this correctly as the unit won't power on again without the AC adapter.

Remove one screw and prise off the cover which is held in with clips. Push in ram module at an angle then in and level it off. Then pull the side clips out and up and over the ram sides so it stays put. It was a bit fiddly so just try different things until you get it to stay.

Don't remove that silver coloured sticker, it improves the wifi signal.

Put back together, plug in AC adapter and turn on.

There is definitely an improvement. Whether I could have made do with 8GB total is irrelevant for such small cost.

        • Thanks buddy! as I'm thinking abt doing it myself with upgrading to 12GB or selecting the 8GB upgrade option provided by flingshot

    • It depends on the issue honestly, usually we will just swap the machine out, however you have the option of having Samsung repair it.

For RAM it won't void the warranty and if the RAM itself fails, which is pretty rare then it is covered by a lifetime warranty in almost all cases.

For the SSD the same applies, except usually a 3 year warranty.

      • So does this come with an AU Samsung warranty? How long?

        • 12m Samsung Warranty on the machine itself.

Rep, If you did not make us feel like making a purchase today, can you tell us why not? ;)

    • That popup is so annoying.

      • +1

Might i say " that's what she said"

      • Yeah it is not the best, we are looking into other options, but that said we have received some incredible feedback via that menu. Many of the suggestions we have implemented to improve the site significantly.

  • Sorry if i sound ignorant, but does this include GST and stuff? As in, can i claim it back as a laptop for work purposes? lol

    • +1

You will get a GST receipt. People usually want that so they can claim the GST back if they are going overseas. You don't actually need a GST receipt to claim something on your taxes, you could buy a laptop overseas for work and still claim it.

      • +1

But if your audited you need to show proof that GST was paid on the item (in the form of a reciept) i would be very careful about offering tax advice if your not accredited.

        • +4

I think you missed my point. I wasn't saying you could claim the GST back on an overseas purchase. I was saying that you do not have to pay GST on a purchase in order to claim it on your taxes as for business purposes.

Example: I am in the Hong Kong and buy an iPad which I use to run my business, obviously I can claim this on my taxes.

Disclaimer I am not an accountant

        • Copie, the question by ReSublimity refers to claiming a tax refund based on a laptop for work purposes (well a tax refund from the income tax paid), what you are thinking for GST is the TRS - Tourist Refund Scheme (When you leave the country and you claim GST back).

  • Rep, I am really interested in the Samsung NP530U3C-A06AU but want to know if you guys have options to upgrade this one? Ideally I want an SSD and at least 8GB of RAM.

    Any possibility of this?

    • Adding options now.

      • champion! One other thing, I didn't see the NP900X3C-A01AU before, does it have RAM options also?
        Such hot machines!

        • Unfortunately not. The RAM is soldered to the MB on this unit.

  • I dont think so this is cheapest here.. GG is selling it for $644 plus 10% off for returning customers :) … I enquired from the guy and he was ready to sell it to me for 580$ … Plus i dont have to wait for it to be delivered plus they have more colour options :)

  • Another 9 days to ship? Cmon, can you ship out faster?

    • +3

Unfortunately not, in order to get this price we needed to commit to a large quantity. We hope to have it earlier obviously, but we are not going to promise people they will have them in 2 days and then have it take 10. If you need something desperately then unfortunately this is not the deal for you, if you can wait a week then it is a pretty great price.

  • How do I go about ordering the NP530U3C-A06 with win8 upgrade? Just specify it in the comments?

    Cheers

    • +1

The upgrade is through MSFT, you just need to register and download it, or you can pay extra and have them mail you the DVD's.

      • Thanks just saw your previous comment too, oops

  • hi Rep, can I order the Samsung NP530U3C-A03AU today, and pay on this Friday? I'll need the tax invoice no early than 23rd as I am going oversea and want to claim GST return in a month?

    • Just replied to your PM.

      • 23rd Nov? You will need to produce the laptop at the TRS counter to get the refund!

  • I am very confused because I am more of a fan of a SSD and prefer an all SSD based machine. Any possibility there might be a fantastic deal on this machine (np900x4c-a05au) (even same spec with Windows 7 is fine if not better)????
    http://flingshot.com.au/collections/computers/products/copy-…

    • We just dropped the prices on the Samsung 9 series windows 8 machines, for the moment that is the best deal you are going to see on the x4c's. The difference is the previous generation only had a 128GB SSD the new one has a 256GB.

You can always opt for an SSD upgrade on one of the NP530 machines.

      • oo. So you will replace HD with the SSD? If you replace, the 24GSSD+500GHD with a 256G SSD on NP530U3C-A05 (which is advertised for $758), What will be price for that ? Second question is Do you upgrade these options yourself or Samsung gives you those machines with the required configurations ? Thanks for the reply by the way.

        • We upgrade them ourselves. I will have to get back with pricing on the 256GB.

        • Anything on this bro ?

        • Sorry crazy day over here at FSHQ. If you want a 256GB option we will need to add $250. Honestly it is not the best price you can get for a 256GB SSD but that is the current pricing we have unfortunately.

        • Oooo, But will removing the current SSD+HD not reduce that amount? I thought you could replace that and add the amount. If not, then Can I add/replace SSD with the current HD+SSD without problems to Warranty ?

        • I am actually happy to order one. A Quick question though, If I add the SSD, will you reinstall the system on the SSD? and how will it recover if a recovery is required. Will you be able to make this current HD as secondary and the new SSD as primary ? I am not sure how will the recovery process work as I am aware of on DVD based recoveries. Thanks for the information.

        • The system will be cloned to the new drive. Samsung recovery software is smart enough to know how to recover to a different partition size. Unlike some manufactures who shall remain unnamed.

        • Thanks very much and how can I order with new SSD in it on new price? Will it have both drives or only one ? Let me know how to order this one. Thanks for answering questions.

  • Hi, I am slightly confused but what is the difference between NP900X3C-A01AU and NP900X3C-A03AU and NP900X3C-A05AU besides the price? I am not updated with ultrabooks =/

    • +1

The x3c series are the the 13in. The A01 was the previous gen win 7, the A03 is win 8 but same spec. The A05 is not available to us at least, I believe it is an overseas model.

      • +1
        • thanks OP! I don't think Win8 would be all that great without a tablet laptop (device? thing? haha)

Do you reckon it'll be this price in 1 month time? Really lacking funds right now.

        • That is the X4C-A05 which is the 15in. There is a 13in X3C-A05 but not in Australia I don't think.

        • Once these are gone, I don't expect this price again until we are clearing the current gen models which will not be likely until around June based on this generation.

  • Hi rep,

Can you please confirm that the Series 5 machines you're selling here are on Windows 7?

    • Yep confirmed as above.

  • Rep, please run a 15" deal , 13" just a bit small for my use.

  • Would someone please explain for me what is NITS FHD? In normal usage, would it display 1920x1080 or 1600x900?

    • +1

      where is it from?
nits tells you how bright the screen is.
FHD looks like Full HD, which is 1920x1080.

  • Thanks rep for the great deal. Got the NP530U3C-A06 and am thoroughly happy with the price I paid.

Any chance of chucking in one of these with my purchase so I can start taking advantage of the USB 3

    Keep the good deals coming!

    • +1

You have got to be kidding right?

    • +1

The poor guy is making bugger all profit on you as it is.. ease up.

  • Rep, what are the chances that the shippment could be further delayed and deliveries impacted. Also if I place an order what time frame do you think for delivery?

    • Very unlikely honestly we have given ourselves a big window to make sure we don't have any delays. That said you never know what could happen, if for some reason it was pushed back we would obviously notify everyone and offer a refund. But again that is extremely unlikely.

      • Thanks, so it should be received at most places by the 10th Dec.

        • That would be pretty slow. Even to WA it is usually less than a week.

  • +2

If we choose te SSD option, do we get to keep the original HD? Might be more beneficial to some if you do the SSD upgrade yourself - you get a 500gb drive which with a $3 USB HD enclosure, can be made into an external drive.

    • The machine just ships with the SSD for the upgraded models. But you can definitely do it yourself and keep the drive as an external. Just depends on your technical ability but most people on OZB should be able to do it themselves.

  • Rep, I am interested in buying the Np530 with 4 MB. Hoping to plug in the 4GB ddr3 slot I already have at home and boost it up. Can you confirm that there is a free memory slot in this?

    • Yes but keep in mind this is 1600Mhz RAM. I am fairly sure that 1333 will work, although we haven't tested it, but it will downclock the other RAM.

  • Hello, I bought the Samsung NP530U3C-A03AU last night and went to buy another one today and all day it has been rejecting my CC. Error message that keeps coming up is "The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number."

I am using the same CC as I did last night and have also tried another CC with the same result. Is the payment system down?

  • hi flingshot, i ordered one but my address was wrong, my order no r #5382, could you kindly reply my email, thanks

    • Updated and replied, thanks.

      • sorry dont think i got your reply could you send it through again pls

Hi Flingshot, I made an order, but need a slight change in the spec. I send you an e mail. Could you please kindly reply to it… Thanks in advanced

  • Hi, can anyone confirm the NP530U3C-A03 can upgrade a 8GB ram to make it total of 12GB? The official site specify it only support up to 8GB memory !

    • I can confirm for you I have 12GB ram total working in mine. See my previous comment for reference.

You guys did'nt have enough stock, worthy of posting this deal, it sold out too quick.
Not enough to go around = no good deal.
10 cheap laptops for 100 people is not a good offering.

  • Damn, there's not one more NP530U3C-A03 available is there?
PM me if any get cancelled please.

  • I upgraded my NP530U3C-A03 to Windows 8. After doing so you need to go to the following site to get the Samsung Win8 drivers/software:
    http://www.samsung.com/au/support/win8upgrade/

It is a pain to install all the components and took many tries, but you definitely need the "Settings" software to be able to use the FN keys to change brightness. If you have trouble, try rebooting into safe mode (with networking) and try installing some of it that way.

I like Win8, it boots in so much faster than Win7 that I have less of an urge to install a SSD.

The only major thing I don't have working yet is getting the Intel SSD caching (big selling point of an ultrabook!).

  • Got this from Flingshot today:

    Hi There,

Just writing with an update on your order. Unfortunately Samsung was unable to provide us with enough stock of the model NP530U3C-A03 which we originally ordered, so they have replaced the remaining units with the newer windows 8 model, the NP530U3C-A04. This model has identical specifications, but is running windows 8 out of the box so there is no need to pay $15 to upgrade.

We will be providing tracking numbers as we ship each order via email. We expect all orders will be received by next Friday at the latest.

Hope you enjoy your new laptop!

If you have any questions regarding your order just send us an email.

    Thanks,
    The Flingshot Team

Rep, can you please confirm that this is still Australian stock with warranty from Samsung Australia? Looking forward to delivery, was going to upgrade it to Windows 8 anyway.

    • Yes it is still Australian stock. We just had an issue due to the volume of stock sold, thankfully they were reasonable enough to offer an upgrade. We took a bit if a hit but it was better than having to cancel orders.

      • Thanks rep. Quick reply much appreciated.

  • Hi Rep,

Recieved an email yesterday from you guys saying that the Samsung NP530U3C-A06AU is been upgraded to a Samsung NP530U3C-A02AU.

How is this an upgrade when the CPU is an i5 and the ultra book I order is an i7 ? and also the hard drive bay is only a single drive bay. And finally the ultra book I order is shown with an actual value of $1299 and the one you are saying is an upgrade is only valued at $1099.

So please explain to me how is this an upgrade?

    • Flingshot just confirmed the email sent out was a typo and the specs advised on the replacement model are showing as an upgrade.

Thanks flingshot for the quick reply to my enquiry via email.

      • +1

Not a problem, it was our mistake. Thanks for your support.

    • +1

Sorry for the confusion, there was a typo in our original email. We have since sent out a follow up email advising of the mistake.

Our original email had the replacement model to the NP530U3C-A06 as the NP540U3C-A06 (not the NP530U3C-A02 you posted above). You are 100% spot on, this is not a suitable replacement.

As per our follow up email, it will be replaced with the NP540U3C-A02. specs can be found here: http://www.binglee.com.au/samsung-np540u3c-a02au-540u3c-note…

This was a silly oversight, but as you can imagine with this many similar model numbers flying around, simple enough to miss. My head is spinning just rereading this post :\

I hope this helps clear things up.

  • Received my new laptop today. Very happy and satisfied. And these guys are awesome with their customer care. I had a few inquiries post sale which have been diligently and promptly answered.

  • Hi Rep,

I sent you an email twice in regards to the tracking number that you sent me is showing as no record of the shipment.

    Can you please advise ?

    • I just went through and checked all emails there are none that have not been actioned. Sorry for the hassle can you please send through the email again. I am assuming it is an issue with the tracking link, which should be an easy fix.

  • Hi Rep

I am still waiting for a response to my post and also my emails that I have sent you ion regards to my delivery, you sent an email on 03/12 saying my laptop had been sent, the tracking number you gave is showing as not active. Please respond.

  • Rep, I'm also waiting on a response regarding an email I send Thursday. I know you guys are busy and its the weekend so I'm happy to wait until next week for an answer, but is this something you can chase up? Thanks.

    • +1

Could you also please email again, we respond to emails over the weekend the same as weekdays, so I am not sure why you have not had a response yet.

      • Thank you Flingshot, the lap top arrived today, it appears that Australia Post were at fault and never updated their tracking. Very happy with my new ultra book and will be recommending your website to others.

  • Hey there rep, I have the same question as colmjoseph? any update?

    • We had an error in our tracking links, which we thought had been fixed but it seems like that may not be the case. I will get someone to go through and verify them. In the meantime can you send us an email with the order number again if you have not already and we will chase it up.
