Those Ryzen based mini PCs with 8 cores would take this for a ride for prices hovering just above and including gaming with 780m igpu for fraction of the power and physical dimension

you guys have a lot of good deals in the past but seems times have changed

    • +1

Only upside are the ECC rams, that's about it.

If memory serves me correct, the Quadro only has 4x mini DP.

      • +1

the Quadro is probably the one id consider barely passing as good deal, it games bit like underclocked rtx 2070 or 2060 super but the cpu is underpowered for any modern games so

      • How many did you need?
mini-DP to DP or HDMI cables are cheap and common.

      • +2

This has 4 full size display ports, 6 pin power connector

        • That's nice. My SFF equivalent came with 4 miniDP.

          Thanks for error-correcting his memory

I was gonna say "at least it's got some 3.5 bays for a NAS setup" but I checked and it's only got 2 :\

You'd think with a case that huge there would be lots of room for storage.

      • Bays are a suggestion, not a rule - aka: just hang them drives in there

        • Yeah I know, and I've done that before (suspended drives internally with bungee cables) but it'd be nice to have

    • Which ryzen based mini pc’s are you talking about? Got any links? I’ve been looking for something similar for a while

  • Xeon E-2134 is 7 years old. Quadro P4000 was released Feb 2017. I depreciate computers over 4 years (2 to 4 years with ATO). So I'll pass at that price.

  • My HP ML10v2 died a few days ago and looking for a replacement and was considering this - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/177060377961. With the 20% off its down to around $320.

Running truenas scale with jellyfin + raddar etc + immich + next cloud & Ive got 3 SATA disks i need to get into a case though. Im seeing a bit of talk about those mini pcs.

Worth getting a mini pc as they're more powerful and use less power and try and get the drives running. Or is it better to go with the system i posted as its got 64G of ECC ram?

Would appreciate any advice and thoughts
