  • Is this the Kindle White Version?

  • are these the current models that were just announced recently ?

  • meh.. that looks like the $69 model and pretty sure I can get it landed for less than $40 postage.

    • You can order it directly from Amazon, $69 special offers version and $89 normal version and postage from Amazon is cheap and the support is great directly from them.

But the Black version currently out of stock.

        This doesn't ship to australia

        • Amazon did ship to Australia Directly, you can even claim warranty directly from them.

Check out Whirlpool, only some newest model like Paper White they didn't ship to us yet but they will in the future.

People received it within 5 days if they have stock.

        • Yep. I had mine posted to Australia from Amazon just the other week.

This deal isn't very good. I had mine delivered for the same price from Amazon. Came within a week of ordering it.

          Try again livingsocial.

You can't get the special offers version shipped to Australia without a forwarder. You can get the $89 one however, which is $101 shipped.

        • OK thanks for the info.

      • what is 'special offers' please?

EDIT: Doesn't matter - for $20 extra I'm sure he'd prefer not to put up with ads.

  • I think it calls Kindle 4 2012 edition.

    • woolies had kindle 4 wifis for $94, available behind the service counter if you ask, several times this year.

      • The old version should only $48 and DSE have the 2012 version now.

  • Shipping fees are capped at $9 per order

    Isn't it $118, then? Not $109?

Your order will be dispatched at the end of the sale period and can take 2-3 weeks for delivery

Dick Smith have it online for $119; I believe you can pick them up in-store for that price. Or you can wait 2-3 weeks - or longer - for Living Social to deliver it.

    • Also, Living Social are claiming a $149 retail price. Is that legal, if there's no-one selling at that price?

      • Living Social are claiming a $149 retail price

Yes, it is illegal to advertise a comaprison to a price you do not normally sell for.

It is classified as deceptive and misleading advertising by the ACCC.

      • sure they can if it's the RRP set by Amazon

        • It's not though. RRP is $89+shipping on their website, or $119 in a retail store.

        • The $89 is the US RRP not the AU RRP. The $119 is what DSE are choosing to sell it for, not the RRP set by Amazon

        • But you can buy it, right now, for $89+shipping from Amazon, so it's the Australian price also.

Around $100 delivered and a lot better warranty.

This is about their great warranty (posted on Whirlpool and why you should buy it from Amazon directly

          1. Delivery is usually 3 to 5 days (Incl weekends)

          2. Free replacement within the first 3 months even if you drop it off the twentieth floor. In other words accidental damage is covered in that 3 months. (Postage paid)

          3. If it has to be repaired under warranty you get a pre paid label to print off for returning the damaged item. Plus you have up to 30 days after the replacement arrives for you to send it and them to receive it. Handy if only one feature of the device does not work as you still get to use it until the replacement arrives. Try that with a store bought Kindle!

          4. Customer service will ring you if when using the, "Contact Us" button on their site and selecting the phone option. (Takes them under a minute to call you on average)

        • Doesn't work that way though. The US RRP is not the Australian RRP even if they sell to Australians. The RRP for Australia is set by the Australian distributor (who ever that is). The RRP might not be the street price, but they could state what the RRP is without being false or misleading as long as they don't say they have sold it for that price in the past.

Can get them direct from Amazon for about $100 delivered. Black available here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007HCCOD0?country=AU

Have seen official covers in Woolies for around $5 too.

  • Anyone tried price match Amazon price at DSE? Just wondering.
