If you buy from any Australian Store (i.e. you pay GST on the tablet), Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet comes with 2 years Australian Warranty.

I would recommend Oz bargainers to refrain buying from Online stores like Kogan / Mobicity where the tablet is shipped from Hong Kong and you only get 1 year warranty and that to from their Hong Kong counterpart.

I read all Terms and Conditions / Warranty info on Kogans website and it looks pretty shifty to me.

Pay few dollars extra and get the peace of mind of buying from Aussie Stores and getting 2 years Australian Warranty.

    • This is JB Hifi… Pretty Australian last I checked.

NVM, you're the deal poster. Sounded like you were advising people against this deal.

      • You can buy direct export from Hong Kong then. No worries.
I am advertising good quality product. If you were selling it, I would be more than happy to put forward your name.
JB is doing it - and hence their name :)

never pay any extra dollar for the "extra years of warranty". only use platinum credit card for stuff which i may keep for quite a few years, like a mac book or full frame dslr for the free extra warranty. for a reputable branded cheap tablet, dont get obsessed about extra warranty.

    • What does the platinum card get you?

    • Thats absolutely correct alwayseric. Not only this is the cheapest deal in Australia but also you get a 2 year Australian Warranty for FREE… Prevention is Better than Cure :)

    • Do you know the difference between warranty and warranty insurance(provided by many platinum CC)? It's $100 excess each time smth happens.

  • How is a Note wifi only? Isn't it a tablet sized phone, as in it has all cellular features of the phone, and thus 3G?

I think I will wait a bit, because I like the screen on the Nexus 10 better. Hopeing the next Note tablet will match that 1600p screen with 4x the resolution of this one. Or at least do 1080p.

      Hi Lostm,

You can make phone call of Note 10.1 3G model only. Since we all carry smartphone these days, I thought there is no point in buying a 3G version as I can easily tether my Smartphone for internet.
I am just trying out this tablet now and its just fantastic. S-Pen is mind blowing and this tablet woks as a TV remote too for any brand of TV.
I am a IT consultant and the reason I bought this tablet is becos its 100% productive.
Pretty looking tablet with Retina Display and aluminum body for me is of no use.

Agree that 3G or 4G is not necessary if you have a phone that can tether for internet. I got the Tab 8.9 and until now it is still stuck with 3.2,while my Note 1 is still waiting for update to 4.1. Samsung is pretty slow to update for those that they don't sell much, can't blame the carrier as both are bought unlocked.

Hey guys just bought this from Bondi junction for $498, http://imgur.com/LocOt this is the receipt I used to price match. Didn't have to convince them, just had to show them.

Just thought I'd also add that I also tried to get them to price match the 3G version from unique mobile but they said that it was $40 below cost price for them.

Edit: Also for the $100 eftpos card from the samsung promotion in NSW for Jb hifi you have to purchase it from Westfields (Bondi Junction, Paramatta or Penrith).

For other states check the 2nd page of the promotion (http://www.samsung.com/au/promotions/pdf/Samsung_2_GiftCard_…) also it starts on Monday for most places(26th November).

    • hi, were u able to claim the $100 giftcard easily from the samsumg booth?

      • Yep just got mine at Bondi westfields

          Hi Deebs,

Can you please upload your receipt? I doubt they do price match on old receipt in some stores. very appreciated.

        • Sorry I don't have a scanner but the old receipt should still work.

        • Perhaps you can take a photo with your samsung note? :)

  • If its written in the box - then they have to honour it.

But im still fairly sure its a 1 year warranty on samsung tablets- strange :p

There was a Samsung rep at Essendon Store who told me that its 2 years warranty. I purchased the tablet and the warranty card shows 2 years as well. ;)

  • Def 2 years. Got the Good Guys to match and as it was their last unit the guy gave 10 dollars off. With the last of my TGG cards it was a very sweet deal.

  • What's the diff between Galaxy Note 10.1 Wifi and Tab 2 10.1 Wifi (besides the pen)?

Is Samsung going for two different markets, or are they basically both geared for the same market but one having better specs? Why not just use the same branding then? Is Note a better range than Tab/Tab2?
