Folding Camp Shovel $4 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass/ $65 Order) @ Kmart

1250

Sold out online, available in-store.

A good steel camping or garden shovel. I've used mine in the garden and it's good at getting through roots with the serrated side and the big handle helps.

The same design shovels sell for $20-30. Comparison with other stores.

Anyone tried this? The last one of these I bought online bent like soft cheese, first use.
I used to have ex army one that was solid as anything

Please thank it for its service for me.

Plenty of positive reviews on the Kmart website.

      • Yes, I will risk my $4. You should have seen that last one fold over like a cheese slice

        • Digging through lava?

Mine has been solid with no sign of bending from lifting up big chunks of soil, roots and plants. Folds up nicely into a small pouch they give which is a bonus.

I used mine for a year around Australia and found it to be quite sturdy when locked in both the open and closed position. Never really used the pick axe part though.

    • +2

The ex-army ones are more sturdy and can be used like a large hand spade to shovel dirt around the garden or dig into hard soil. They have a wooden handle and are much heavier. Can cost up to $70 second hand
I’ve looked at both, the army one is worth the extra money in my opinion, if you use it regularly, it will last a very long time.
Mine was $4 at an opshop!

  • I biught one before very similar… cant remember from where…

    • I got one from Bunnings clearance a couple of years ago.

  • Any ideas on what people use the pick side for?

    • +6

      Breaking the bones.

    • +5

Never used a pick before? Good for breaking up tough ground, rocks etc then you use the shovel to move the loose debris you've created.

    • +1

Breaking up hard earth before digging - this style is a trenching tool

    • Cobblestone.

      No good for obsidian though

Excuse my French, but is this shovel designed to bury sh!t.

    • Pick is used for removing rocks for swag or tent
Shovel is dual use. You can bury shit or find shit

      • I don't plan on finding any sh!t. I mean it literally, "designed to bury your number 2's."

  • Order got cancelled, got refunded…

  • I put it as out of stock. I assume there are stock differences from when people went into store to buy it directly and it meant some online orders or click and collects missed out.

  • These are very popular with serial killers

Should have checked the dimensions, this thing is tiny. A garden trowel is bigger than this….
