Note: older gen CPUs - new ones are i3/5/7-3XXX

    • Hi Joe, we do have specials on the 3rd Generation Intel CPU's too, these deals are just especially cheap for our bargain hunters on OzBargain.

    • thanks for the tip (not for this bargain specifically, but in general). I never knew how to identify what generation CPU's are…

  • please get rid of the compare to dell thing, this model is not available on the dell site anymore and so cannot be compared.

    Hi Visiontech,

You still haven't explain to me why an old and used HDD is found in your "Brand new" desktop PC you were selling here last month.

    When confronted in this thread:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85279
you spin a story about using "brand new old part" in your "Brand new PC"

After I post a picture of the hdd in question. you went missing.

This is a picture of the old hdd found in your "Brand new" desktop pc:

      Hi cezasu,

Regardless of how old a product is, if it has never been used, it is still brand new. The warranty for a brand new product still applies and Visiontech must abide by all the consumer laws.

If you look at some of the deals websites that sells brand new laptops, some of those laptops are discontinued models and may have been sitting in storage for over a year.

The problem is the Hdd is used.

Also sm007h you just signed up today and this is your first post 10 minutes after you join ozbargain.

for all i know you could be vision tech rep posing as another user trying to save and talk yourself out of this situation

        • -1

Somehow I knew you would say that - if I told you I am not associated with Visiontech, would it change anything?

What I said earlier is a fact, simple as that, and if you have proof that the HDD is used, then get it replaced. I am sure someone here could direct you on running some diagnostics to see if it has been used before.

As to your picture, if you ever worked in a warehouse of a sub-distributor, seeing products with extra sticky tape is not an unusual event. Seriously, at the end of the day, if someone wanted to re-use old components, and seeing sticky tape marks is an unusual thing, someone would have removed it. It isn't that difficult to do.

      Hi cezasu,

In our service dept we have a 8 bay HDD cloning station which allows us to format up to 8 hard drives at once. As daily we can build up to 15 desktops for customers orders, each with different motherboards and configurations we have pre-made images on our server for each motherboard + operating system combination we encounter.

Some PC builds are far more popular than others and we sell more daily, for these builds we have hard drives already pre-imaged and ready to go so if a customer walks in and wants Windows 7 we can provide it to them within 30 minutes, if they want Windows 8 same scenario. To help us tell apart which HDD has which image loaded, we do often tape signs on top saying the motherboard model + windows version loaded. Without having this tag taped on top, we will have no way of knowing which software is loaded on to which HDD.

Now, when we sell out of unimaged hard drives for barebone builds like yours, we can quite simply format a pre-imaged HDD fresh erasing it to fill the order for our barebone requests.

Honestly, if you really are that worried about your hard drive please feel free to return it to our store, together we can open a second brand new hard drive from it's big card board box, together we can then cut open the foam, together we can then open the HDD from its antistatic bag and together we can then place it inside your computer - all so you have the peace of mind you seem to be missing.

If my above solution is not satisfactory to you then seriously never buy a custom built computer again. I have already answered your questions on the first post and still you are adamant on pushing the point on this hard drive.

Sure created 21 minutes ago. Probably a competitor fueling the fire of our above friend :| if you are a legitimate customer, please provide your invoice number for verification.

    • Okay created 34 minutes ago, see you then.

    • Anonymous account created 1 hour and 17 minutes ago, i'm trying to help you but you are still unable to provide me with an invoice number. What name was on your invoice and I can search manually? Without me knowing who you are what would you like me to do?

    • Okay so you can not prove you are a customer yet you're here trash talking the deal. OzBargain does have private message features but obviously you can't prove your claim so i'm doubtful you will be emailing me your name :|

        hi visiontech,

I have nothing against you, what i have posted here is to create awareness which i think has served it's purpose.

While I agree with some ozbagainers here that visiontech have good and friendly "Pre-sales" customer service, I can't say the same for "After sales" customer service.

Firstly you tried to spin a story about using brand new old part while clearly it's a used part. You did not offer any reconciliation measures to close the issue at the first instance, but when you finally did after I posted the issue in this thread, you offered to exchange the question hdd to a new part, you replied in a sarcastic way that make me feel ridiculed.

This is no way to treat a genuine customer. (I did not get any private message from you as well)

I feel that you still think that it's nothing wrong to pass off used or old parts as brand new. Reason is because you will provide the 1 year warranty, but the price you advertise for brand new desktop determine whether it's a bargain or not.

With a pc fitted with old/used part, the price is no longer a bargain. In fact, it is a misrepresentation of the product are selling.

You should be more forthcoming with your advertisement as you are trying to sell in a community who know stuffs and does their own research before committing to buy anything.

I do not know who is Anoymous19 and I thank him for coming forward to confirm this issue. Now I know I am not alone.

For me, I know who I will not deal with now in the future and I will compile a thread on this issue in the discussion forum as a record for future bargainers.

        Thank you for reading.

cezasu, you've presented a supposed problem which is something that you perceive to be as wrong done by you. I've tried to re-assure you to no success and remedy the problem in such a way where as NO DOUBT can be left in your mind and yet you're still just complaining.

If you were a genuine customer obviously you'd be keen on having your issues rectified and the solution I offered would do just that, but seeing as how you're making no attempt to resolve your "issue" only continue to complain it really makes it impossible to move forward on this as you're unwilling to actually resolve anything.

Now i'm faced with the scenario of do I stop replying to you only to have you later on show up and complain some more (as you have done on this post) or do I keep trying to resolve your "issue" to make you happy which you are obviously unwilling to do.

We are a very friendly and flexible team who are always willing to bend over backwards to keep our customers happy, but if you're unwilling to do anything other than complain there's not much I can do for you.

        • Hi Visiontech,

I repeat: The problem here is: You have advertised a brand new PC, and I expect the PC to be brand new. I will have never bought from you if i know it contained old parts.

And the price you advertise for brand new desktop determine whether it's a bargain or not.

It is no longer a bargain if it contains old parts.

If you notice I stop checking this thread and all discussion goes here now if you want to answer anything:
          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86409

          To answer your question:
-I do not have a habit of selling/returning HDD that I have used.
-I am giving my grand mother this PC for web browsing
-Your shop is too far away.
-Finally, I do not want to deal with you again.
