    Hi Rep, great price and service. I have bought and used travelkon many times.
    But dissatisfied one time when I bought South East Asia multi countries. I bought it thinking it would be convenient when I went to 3 different countries. Which is correct, very convenient but the speed was so slow? At times, even a simple search was slow.

    Previously I didn't have this issue with single country?

    Can you confirm this is the case for all multi region esim?

    I'm planning to travel to multi region again soon.

      Hey there!

      We have recently changed our Multi country SIMs provider so this one will 100% be a lot better.

      The old product you purchased must be the one with "CHT provider"? This one works well except in Indonesia where they used XL, which has poor coverage. The current one uses Telkomsel.

          It shouldn't be slow in Malaysia and Singapore but we need to check at the time what could be wrong.

          Single country vs multi countries are the same if they are from the same "provider"

          Our current offerings should not have these issues, we always advice our customer to contact us if there is anything wrong as we respond within minutes.

      Roaming SIMs often use VPNs to send data back to the home country of the SIM provider. They're slow and add a lot of latency. Always go for a local SIM if you can.

      We only use the best provider and network operator for these countries now.

      Japan - Softbank, IIJ (Docomo) or KDDI
      China - China Mobile
      Indonesia - Telkomsel

      So the connections will be excellent.

      I used them for Japan for 2 weeks, amazing can’t fault it. I got the physical sim. Both my friends got eSIM; one worked well the other one died.

    Bought a Vietnam 20 Days 5G SIM. Activation is easy. Connectivity is mostly H+ speed. Shockingly the service provider spams my phone with popups constantly every hour! Most annoying is it pops up while I'm taking photos and even when phone screen is off. Spam message forces the screen to stays on until I touch Cancel or OK. It's so annoying that I bought another SIM (esim) from KLOOK - cheaper, much better coverage and no spams.

    Edit: Gave a review of 2. Let's see if they publish it.

      We hope you understand the "spam" is not done by us - we are only reselling their service (Vietnamobile).

      Just note we actually never received these reports by other customers so not sure if you are just unlucky.

      We also have Viettel eSIMs which is what we recommend to our customers (even on the Vietnamobile page we recommend the Viettel eSIMs)

        Not the OP, but just wanted to say that we went with the recommended Viettel eSIM when we travelled to Saigon in July and the activation and service was faultless. Downloaded the eSIM in Australia and the service just worked as soon as we hit the ground. Ended up not even bothering with hotel WiFi 👍🏻

      If your first destination in Europe is the UK, the Giff Gaff SIM is pretty flexible. EU roaming works well, however only if you start in the UK.

      Wait, Plutolio could if they chose the 90days till activation eSims - from today until 10th Nov is 74 days. That should still work right?

      I am in the same boat - arriving 18th Nov, which is 82 days, so I should be able to buy the eSim now, and activate it on arrival and it would work.

          Sorry we mis-read just saw the "December" bit.

          Yes you can buy the eSIM as well.

          It has to be used within 90 days and you will get 30 days from FIRST activation. So you can activate on the 90th day and get 30 days from that day.

      Yes it is - if you see the "URL" it is not just the homepage but it has someone else's referral code

      Simply make a purchase and make sure to create an account during checkout to get the points.

      This eSIM only activates once it connects to the local operator so you can add the eSIM beforehand, I wouldn't do it too soon though a week before travel is OK.

      Cheaper option, eSIM for AU$8.33 each, giving 15 days of 500MB/day at full speed and then unlimited data at 200kbps. The speed resets to full speed on the next day. Even at the slower rate, this is apparently fast enough for WhatsApp messaging and voice calls, so you can keep in contact with the other members of your group in Japan, or friends and relatives at home.

      There are also plans with more data and shorter/longer periods.

      CMHK is the network provider however they partner up with Softbank and KDDI so as long as they have coverage in Mt Fuji area it should work.

      Regular Japan eSIM is provided by CMHK - works on Softbank and KDDI network.

      Docomo (IIJ) is a local provider.

      Both options are excellent, we recommend checking the network coverage of where you are going to see which network operator has the best coverage (although if you are going to the main cities all the operators will have no issues).

      If you know how to manually configure APN the Docomo IIJ is a good local eSIM option.

    Hi OP, do you have any physical SIMs for IIJ Docomo in Japan? I can only see SoftBank SIMs.

    I'm particularly after IIJ Docomo for:

    • Reportedly the best coverage of all the Japanese networks
    • Data never runs out, you get unlimited data at low speed (typically 128kbps), which is more than fast enough for WhatsApp messaging.

      If you are purchasing a physical SIM you would need to purchase express option for it to arrive on time (note: ETA would be 2 Sep by 5PM).

      Our Asia 12 explorer would include both Japan and Hong Kong.

      Physical SIM or eSIM?

      If you do not mind passport activation the local Telkomsel SIMs will provide the most data for the price.

      If you do not want to provide your passport data then the Unlimited eSIMs is probably your next option
