This runs on same power as us, simply change the plug over or use a plug adapter. No clue as to whether the warranty is good here or not but at $250 cheaper than the cheapest in Aus I'm not fussed.

I'm about to say the same thing. You need to be very unlucky to have these "built like a tank" mixer as DOA.
Also, almost all local distibutor didn't deserve our money. They are part of equation on rip off scheme rampant here in Australia.
I wonder what the return policy is to Harrod's.
My coffee machine from Germany was DOA (or near enough) and aside from some delays and mucking around, I got all my money back from the vendor including $200 in postage that I paid to return the product to them.
I vaguely recall that being some kind of EU legislation….
If I was sure it would be the same deal from Harrod's, might be worth the risk.

That says it is the same as local returns, if you search around you will find that they have an easy going return policy especially with faulty goods.

I contacted Harrods via email and they called me right back ten minutes later to tell me that order status GoodsIssue means that the item is ready to dispatch and that the order should take ten working days to arrive. Excellent service.
