    Great price exceptionally tempting.

  • no OS sadly…

  • fk me!!!
So tempting!!! Should i get this??? Btw, how can i get the "BONUS UPG TO 128GB Crucial mSATA SSD"???

    • It's the first upgrade option and is included in the price :D

  • I assume the optical drive can be swapped out for a HDD? A 128GB SSD isn't really sufficient for a gaming laptop.

The SSD is mSata and there's another spot for a second HD and the ODD can also be converted, so in theory you could have 3 drives in it.

      • Woops, was just about to edit; I was just reading over those section :-)
        Thanks

  • Can anyone comment on how this compared to this Asus?
    http://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/product_info.php?products_i…

Horize seems a little quicker in CPU and Graphics, but lacks the Bluray and Windows and is a bit heavier.

FWIW, I am looking to upgrade from my HP Envy 15

The graphics unit is really significantly better in this one, would make a big difference for gaming

Can always rip your blurays to HDD to travel. I'd pick this one for sure

    • Just upgrade the dvd drive to a Blu-ray drive for $99 :)

    • The graphics card in the Horize is so much faster.

Its like comparing a hyundai i30 to a nissan 370z, while the 6800M is the Nissan GTR.

      • Thanks for the replies guys!

  • Woah what a good spec laptop. But not familiar with this brand Horize. Reliable or not?

    • +2

It's all Clevo underneath, who are pretty big. They sell laptops under 10+ names

    • Had the model since around April I think - just after it came out. Travel a lot between houses and absolutely no problems so far.

  • Thanks Jatzz for pointing me to this thread and for your post. If there is any questions, please let me know. I'll do my best to reply in a timely manner.

    • Very Grateful bows

Edit: (Rep for LBO) That wasn't very obvious.

    • Is pickup an option? Will be in Brisbane 4th Jan. Can place an order before the end of this deal and pick up in Jan if possible.

      • Yes we can arrange that. If you send through an enquiry through the website I will show you how to process a pickup order.

        Thanks.

In October the 150EM was $1399 for the same specs with a 750gb hard drive and i believe it was also free upgrade to the 95% glossy screen. The 'bonus' 120GB mSata SSD is now included in the $1499 and the free screen upgrade is no longer available as well as the Hard drive is no long included.

"PROMOTION! Free upgrade from standard hard disk to Crucial 128GB mSATA SSD. Offer expires 31/12/2012. - Merry ChriSSDmas from Horize"

    So from the LBO website.

With NO M-SATA Drive and a 750gb and no screen upgrade the total comes to $1,478.00 inc GST ($79 more then last month) and with the free screen upgrade $1,547.00.

Now if look at the price with no hard drive and no screen upgrade and no msata its base price is now magically down to the $1399 stated above.

So all up this is not BONUS or FREE, it is deceptive marketing

What LBO has done is increased the price on the laptop to $1399 and included the 'free' upgrade for $100 and removed the hard drive from it.

Look it is even admitted on the first line: Crucial M4 128GB SSD mSATA 500/175 Mbs Read/Write [Add $100.00]

    How is $100 free?

    • Proof of the October deal would be good.

    • Don't worry. Understand now.

      Hi mrkorrupt,

There must be some confusion and I will try and clarify.

The P150EM has not had a free 95% glossy upgrade for about 3 months now. The last promotion on it was at $1399 with a 'Standard Matte' display and 750GB Hard Disk.

The current promotion is with 128GB Crucial m4 MSATA drive @ $1499. Now the upgrade price is normally $199 which if you applied the same deal in say October:

      $1399 with 750GB
      -$60 for NO HDD
      +$199 for mSATA 128GB
      = $1538

This current deal is $39 less than the last deal.

There is no deceptive marketing! Your argument rests on a free upgrade with the 95% panel which did not exist. If you check your quoted thread you can see clearly only the P151EM1 came with the free upgrade. The P150EM did not.

In this line of business the pricing on a specialized product moves all the time. Sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. If you are interested in a 750GB drive with no mSATA then right now is an okay buy, but not a great buy like with the 128GB mSATA.

I hope this clears this up.

If the mSata is free, then shouldnt this be

        $1399 with 750GB -$60 for NO HDD + $0 for free mSATA?

        but now it is

        $1499 with Free mSATA
        $160 is not free

        • I think your confusion comes with mixing two different promotions. There is clearly two different promotions that had 2 different starting and ending dates.

        • -1

That is the comment some dishonest person / business makes.

Lets use woolies as an example

          Previous Sorbent Promo: 1 x 18Pack for $10

          Current Sorbent Promo: 1 x 24Pack (6 rolls free) for $10

          Difference in price = $0

Difference in product = 6 rolls (33% bonus)

          The LBO 'free' upgrade promo

Buy 1 laptop for $1399 and we will upgrade the SSD for free if you pay $100

  • Bought my G73H from LBO a couple of years ago, pleasure to deal with.

  • Pretty nice. I so want a lappy with a nvidia GTX card. I'm hoping that american company will come up with a deal on the GTX levono's like they have before which was shared on ozbargain (prices sub $1000).

  • Tossing up between this and the MSI GE60, how does the build quality compare? Is a 64 SSD + 500gb (7200 rpm) a good configuration and better than 128gb SSD?
