Price match it at officeworks and save even more ;)

    • I bought 3 of these from Officeworks with the intention to give them to family for christmas and keep one for myself.

I think they suck, they aren't bad for $50, but I'm going to return mine and wait for the Ouya's to come out or the Odroid which is based on Exynos (though Ouya is gonna have more support even though it is less powerful).

The reason I am getting rid of it is that they access time for files it slow and fast-forwarding/pausing causes massive delays before it starts playing again, I have heard this isn't a problem if you plug in a USB drive, I might try it and report back, but it really isn't why I bought it.

  • too late…

  • OW sold out unfortuna

  • Guy @ Officeworks reckons about a week for more stock (likely a guess @ this close to Christmas)

    • Stock in some OW stores in SE Qld. 144 reported in stock at Southport.

The model advertised in the "West Australian" HN insert this morning is the model that is not included in the $50 card promo:

    Promotion excludes:
    WD TV® Live™ Model No.: WDBAAPXXXXNBK-AESN …[info from here]

    http://www.wdpromo.com.au/25words/terms.php

HN advertised model for $97 in Perth is the WDBAAP0000NBK

better check the box/model before buying

    • Did the cash back site return anything when you clicked redeem after attaching receipt photo and carton photo? in my case its returning a blank php address

      • +1

This is most likely because the size of the uploads are too large. Reduce them them below 200kb.

WDTD Live $97 at Harvey Norman

WD TV Live is NOT included in the cashback, on the the Streaming…

    • Look at the picture

      • I looked at the title…

        • +1

Then question the title, not the eligibility of the deal for cash back

  • +4

looks like they put the wrong ticket on the wrong product as per their website the inferior version is $97
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/netgear-neotv-ultimate-hd-med…

    • But I havent seen the old one on display at all and Next door Officeworks is selling for $99.

    • +4

Even the shelf advert has the wrong name associated to the picture. They say it the WD TV Live but show the picture of the WD TV Live Streaming.
In fairness to Harvey Norman is stupid Western Digital naming thats confusing

Plus I asked the sales person over there, he said its a good price.

        • they might have no stock of the normal version so they are selling the 'streaming' version for $97 in error …so deal might only be good for that particular WA HN

        • +1

decided to neg deal… needs to be updated to Pricing Error or something

        • +1

Yea, If its a price error the deal should be removed. how do i do that?

        • -1

I think there is an edit button so u can press edit and update description to make it more specific that the deal is only for that store due to pricing error or something similar

        • isnt this HN in alexandria… you know NSW?

      • Agreed. Really confusing. The $50 cash back deal specifically says WD TV Live Streaming is included. You know how hard it is to find the name with "Streaming" on WD's own website?

    • It's in the latest HN catalogue. $97 is for the non-wifi version.

  • +5

    Harvey Norman fail!

  • +1

My local HN (Maroochydore,QLD) matched the $99 Officeworks deal [yes the wifi streaming !]
so it can be done…maybe head in with the Officeworks catalogue in hand (6 December dated)

  • +9

WD TV Live for $97 at HN? It's $77 at JB. Where's the deal? WD's cash back is not included for this product. So please edit the post.

  • +4

    HN you are idiots.

Plenty available at OfficeWorks in Yarraville (Vic).

  • Went to HN Brisbane and they had the non wifi for $97. Wifi was like $149.95. Picture in OP is wrong.

    • +1

Whilst the price is stuck on as in the photo, i think you'd be ok in that mentioned store. OP doesn't claim it's Australia wide.

  • Cashback not on this item, and $97 isnt a bargain when others are selling for same price. Neg.

  • Thanks for this,

Got it at Officeworks Dee Why for $92.15 ea via price match,

    • Congrats!

Exactly how did you do it? Didn't OW staff ask for a receipt etc.?

      • Showed them the photo of it on my phone (so it looked like I took it)

They sell them for 99 so its pretty close and when they said "the photo says WD TV LIVE" I asked them to call the HN store but it was shut, so the Manager approved the price match for the streaming unit.

So I have no idea if my local HN even had the promo on

  • Officeworks West Ryde still have a few streaming left. A guy in the line even told me about the cash-back after I had bought it. Must've been an ozbargainer too!

    • Thank you! I'm heading there tomorrow!

      • All sold out =/ I can't find any in Sydney at OW. Harvey Norman won't price match if the item isn't in stock.

  • +2

Got them to price match OW's streaming version after the manager was nitpicking about the difference in model numbers. I just said I would go to JB or Dicksmith nearby…

    • I intend to buy a WiFi WD live streaming device, and I am wondering how did you get OW guys to price match the HN deal? Did you show them the picture from OZbargain?

  • list of devices eligible for $50 giftcard:
    My Book Live
    My Book Live Duo
    WD Tv Live Streaming
    Wd Tv Live Hub
    My Net N600 Router
    My Net N750 Router
    My Net N900 Router
    My Net N900 Central Router
Promotion excludes WDTV Live Model No.: WDBAAP0000NBK-AESN

  • Good effort by the op, but too bad there seems to be a good chance this wont be honoured in most stores

  • +2

I bought one from OW for $99. Model is WDTV Live and the has Streaming Media Player under the name.

Model No is : WDBGXT0000NBK-AESN so different model from the non-valid WDBAAP0000NBK-AESN.

  • Any chance i can get audio from this device if my stereo amp only get the traditional rca(left/right) input?

    • +1

Comes with a composite video cable with left/right stereo. How are you going to get video to your TV? No HDMI?

      • oic! thanks for the info :)
Yeh via hdmi. its a panny plasma so hdmi just do fine.

      • Can it output through both hdmi and composite though?

    • It also has an optical output if you Amp supports it

  • Consider before buying that it has no skip forward function.

    • Why make the effort to put in a DVD if you're just going to skip it?

  • +1

    I went to warrawong HN
They had the WD TV Live Streaming Media Player model wdbgxt0000nbk-aesn for sale at $149
    no sign of discount anywhere
I asked the sales guy Gareth about the price, and he said due to office works price of$99
they are selling it for $98
I bought it and will submit my redemption tomorrow at work
but as it does not fall under the excluded model list I should get my $50 card
    anyway fingers crossed

    • Submitted my info today
All ok for both (you can do up to 5)
Only trouble I had was with PHOTO of box, the file size was too large and it would just fail to complete, so I resized it and worked fine
      Got an email straight away

  • Would be perfect if it has headphone jack :P

    • It sort of does, same port for composite AV.

      • will you get decent volumn from the composite output?

        • +1

does your tv not have headphone jack?

        • Oh true! Good question, it does!! :)
