  • Whoa, I didn't think it was posible to have a simultaneous connection in these type of phones, had I had known that I'd have picked one up a long time ago. Awesome buy, unfortunately as is par for the course with DSE no stores in my area. "Sale" probably advertised to clear a grand total of 4 phones across the country.

  • No stock in ACT

  • No stock in QLD.

  • The specs say: With Nokia C2-00 you can switch the SIM cards easily while keeping one of the SIM cards inside the phone and using hot swap-enabled slot to insert the second SIM card at any time

I don't see how that means both SIMs active at the same time.

    • The Nokia C2-00 seems like a mid-range phone from the nineties at first, but this modest handset actually makes a lot of sense, and use. Being a dual-SIM, dual-standby phone is the obvious highlight: you can have two active phone lines in the same device.

Believe me, I have this phone

In several countries in Asia you can find many of these type of mobiles (dual active sim) from various brands since like 2007 (mostly chinese brands)..

        • How was the built quality and prices of those Chinese dual sim phones compared to this? I know huawei is not bad.

        • Not amazing but they absolutely do their main job, dual active sim. Those that I've known survived at least 2 (two) years of use

      • I have this phone

        Is is 3G or only 2G ?

        • No it's only 2G, but it will be perfect for my parents because they only use their phones for calls. So with this phone they will be able to keep their current SIM and then insert a local SIM when they go OS.

    • I don't see how that means both SIMs active at the same time.

They're talking about swapping in a 3rd SIM. The 2 SIMs inside the phone are both active at the same time.

      • -1

No, the phone has only 1 internal SIM slot, and 1 external SIM slot

  • no stock in act that u know of! im sure ill fine one /gg

No offence, DSE should really ban the ads if there aren't many stocks available. what a waste of time?!

    • +3

No, it gives us a price beat opportunity at OW.

      • -1

That is if OW always has DSE's stocks for price matching.

      • +3

doesnt it need to be in stock for a price match?

    • DSE ban the adds or Ozbargain?

Rang 1300 633 423 (Officeworks)and ordered over the phone. I really want to get these for my parents who are travelling OS soon. Price with 5% discount came to $18.05.

    • including delivery?

      • +1

It's $5.95 for delivery under $55, but I bought other stuff to take my order over $55, so now free delivery

  • nice!

    • I'm stuck at work today for 12 hours so I had no other option. Glad they came to the party.

  • called officeworks and they refused to match. first they said ds out of stock, then they said its in store only so would not price match

    • +2

Tell them DS Traralgon has stock. I was told as long as the competitor had stock somewhere across the state they'd pricematch

    • Exactly ..my experience with them as well.

      • +1

Called some lady she said dse are out of stock. So i told her if you call the store directly they still have stock. Anyways she didn't call them and instead said because DSE doesn't have change of mind in their return policy she can't price match. haha. Stupid lady.

  • any kind enough to post receipt?

    • No, nothing in my email. I just got the order confirmation number over the phone.

  • Just reserved stock at my local store, hopefully they won't give it away before I get there after work.

  • no stock near 2035 NSW

  • great for extra marital affairs

    • Great review!

    • And part time drug dealers.

    Price matched at OW Fivedock(actually $18.05) :) Ph: 02 9119400.
"as long they are in stock at DS"

    • +1

Correct, that's what my local OW has told me. As long as there is stock somewhere within the state they will pricematch.

For those of you in Victoria DS Traralgon has stock so OQW should pricematch

  • +1

As long as DS website shows stock level >= to low then u guyz can hit up OW Hard! I suggest ease back on Purchases from DS for a TEAM EFFORT for others/all to get there's from OW =)

    • I called OW, and they said they'd called DSE, who said not stock in NSW, therefore no price match.

I also called DSE in Chatswood Chase snd they said no stock despite what it says on DSE web site

  • +1

Just called OW - and they can price match. I am off to collect my phone…Yippee….I will check if they have more and if yes - I will advise….Cheers

  • Will try again to post receipt, stupid one x can't copy the url from tinypic

  • I have just walked into OW in Windsor and sucessfully price-matched the phone with further 5% off. The salesperson just jumped onto DSE website and matched it.

  • Got it pricematched at OW in Glebe. Showed them a print out with "stock available" in Bathurst NSW.

  • Excellent stuff guys, nice to see so many people picking up this nifty little phone

    • Thanks heaps for posting!

  • Walter White should've used one of these, that way Skyler wouldn't have discovered his "other" phone. ;)

On an even more off topic note, hurry up with Android already, Nokia. The USB port on my GNex that I got via OzB from eGlobal has crapped itself and won't charge from the wall. :(

Skyler: "Oh is that a new phone you have"
WW: "Yeah, I got tired of the old one, saw this one on OZBargain and got OW to pricematch and beat by 5%"
Skyler: "Oh I see it's got dual sim capability"
WW: "Yeah for the meth business I run behind your back"
      <silence>
      WW: "Oops"
Skyler: "Who cares, we're not real anyway"

  • OW wentworthville beat the price and have in stock.

  • Wow BARGAIN!!

  • nice!

  • good bargain

  • I saw a bunch of Indians try to get this deal at Garden City Office Works. The person that serve them agree to match the price and took the phone to the counter. It was about to be put through when the manager jumped in and told them they couldn't match it no longer. I felt sorry for them. I have dealt with this manager before at GC, he's a clown that doesn't match anything.

  • Just rang my local officeworks and they would only pricematch metropolitian store pries not traralgon or bairnsdale. buggaa :( anyone know of metro DS stores with stock?

  • The online user reviews of this phone are quite poor-average, has anyone had this phone and been happy with it? I hear its quite buggy/slow and hangs, randomly switching off. Not sure how genuine the user reviews are..

  • What a day !! Just got Galaxy note 2 4G delivered today from unique and at the same time haggled my way for this cheapo…. Ahh ozbargain, you are the best force

  • I think this is a good back-up phone in an emergency situation as this little Nokia can be on stand-by for days.

  • Make a FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST OFFICEWORKS to ACCC, NSW Office Of Fair Trading, and the Queen:

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/84452

"I'm gonna take two weeks. i'm Gonna have a fine vacation. I'm gonna take my problem to the United Nations"

  • No stock in any NSW Central Coast Dick Smith!

Sydney Cbd Officeworks at both York Street and Hunter Street refused a pricematch, so i'm taking them to the UN.

  • Can anyone confirm that this phone will not connect to the internet (ie. unlike most modern smartphones, which it isn't) at all unless the user specifically starts the web browser? I cannot see anything in the user guide about turning off internet data.

  • Yes the Internet will only work when you launch the browser. Once you exit it the Internet will disconnect.

  • i am annoyed i missed this been looking for a cheap dual sim for awhile only just found this in the ozb email update

  • I was thinking to get one of this today and now I see it is expired. Disappointed with the missed opportunity

  • Went to OW this morning and the staff went online to check but couldn't find the page anymore. I should've gone there last night.

    • Use the receipt above - they'll price match to the receipt - even another officeworks.

      • This is not stated in their policy. But as you have mentioned this I will give it a try.

        • I bought 2 a couple of nights ago on DSE price match. A couple of family saw them and wanted one so I rang and was told to bring in the receipt for the ones purchased and they would match it. I had no issues at all. Good luck, hope you are successful.

        • Just been to west ryde OW. I asked if the manager could price match another OW. He was skeptical that another OW would have different price. I said I had the receipt. Then He went to the back and got a cellphone. But after I showed him the receipt which has a competitor price on it I was told unless I can show him which competitor it was and find the price online he would not do price match even with the receipt I showed him.

        • Wow, sounds like really bad service. They were so helpful at the OW I went to. Unfortunately my OW is over an hour from you. :( I see that BargainHaggler got one from Five Dock. If that's a suitable location for you maybe give them a call, since they already knew about the Dick Smith price, maybe they won't check whether the website still has it? It would be helpful if you had the salesperson's name that sold it at that price…BargainHaggler do you have a contact? I have a screen print of the webpage dated 11 Dec so you could have a copy of that but not sure about how to upload here. Sorry I'm not more tech savvy. Maybe if I were I would have wanted a smart phone…

  • All Officeworks now has these for $18!

I bought one from Hornsby last night and at 6pm they had 2 left!

    • What do you mean? Did you do any price match? Their website still shows $55! I just called to ask the price in North Ryde and they said $55!

      • Sorry, it is thr Nokia x1-01that i bought for $18.

        Dual sim.
