The email came through this morning for this. They also have the black friday bundles:

Aww the code reduced it below the free shipping amount which added shipping which made the code only about 15% off

    • +3

Buy more items to push the total amount to be eligible for free shipping ;-p

    • Yep they always do this.

  • +7

The Deliveroo riders are gonna be all over this one

  • oooh good deal.

  • +5

This thing is built well. My case for ip12 and arm band still going strong after 4 years of miles and miles of runing.

  • +20

Had always been a big fan, but their latest case I bought that had the MagSafe built in, simply didn’t work with the official MagSafe charger. Would clip on, but not charge. Not an isolated issue, and a faulty design. They made the return process excruciating and took over 30 days to respond, and wanted me to pay return postage. Stopped using them after that.

Still good products in general, but yeah that closed the door for me.

    • What phone? I have one for my 15 Pro and it's been great

      • +11

It was a 14 Pro, and it was a known issue, I found a bunch of people reporting the same. They didn’t wear it at all as their fault and were super poor on the customer support side. No replacement offer, no refund, no paid envelope. I just swallowed the loss in the end due to frustration and dragging it out over so long.

Connected perfectly with the bike mount etc don’t get me wrong, all that side of it was rock solid, usually you wouldn’t need customer service for a product like this as it ‘just works’ but yeah, it just didn’t work. I’d say as long as there is no ‘electrical component’ then these are still good.

But it’s that vote with your wallet thing, they lost me as a customer for sure.

        • That's very frustrating. I guess they fixed it in the next years model

          • +2

@theguyrules: I think my major issue was them continuing to sell it when it was a known issue, and not having something set up akin to a recall that they did when contacted for a return/refund.

            • @cc23: Do you know if they fixed it on the 14 Pro models? I just bought one for 14 Pro before reading this :(

              • @j1nx: My hope would be they’ve had a production run since that rectified the issue.

The award of logical thinking in 2024 belongs to OP. Thank you.

  • Damn it! I ordered a dock last week.. how can I retroactively get this discount?!

    • +2

Double down and then process the return on the old order?

      • Buyer covers return shipping, so might not be worth it.

  • +3

Just commenting to say that I've been using QL products for years and the build quality is great. Customer service is also exceptional.

I bought a motorcycle a few years ago and the attachment that the previous owner had mounted with it was missing a spring. Messaged quadlock asking if I could purchase the missing part and they sent me a whole new mount free of charge. Unsure if this is a regular thing, but it won me over for life.

    • +1

Yeah, they've sent me lots of spares for free over the years. When I wore the tabs on one of my mounts they sent me a handful for free.

    • +1

I spazzed on my order 4 years ago and selected the wrong case. They shipped out the new correct one immediately without money being exchanged. I did pay return postage but I was very pleased how trusting they were

  • I use Quad Lock on both motorbike and push bikes, so naturally on my car as well, also got the ring and utility clip.

However, for car alone, would not go with Quad Lock, it's a solid system, but the most annoying thing is the lump on the case.

It needs to be solid in an exposed environment: bikes, side-by-sides, boats, etc.

But unnecessary when only used inside a well protected car interior.

    • +3

The new cases don't have lumps, they are thicker but flat. https://www.quadlockcase.com.au/blogs/news/introducing-quad-…

      • Do these MAG cases work with Android?

        • Yes they do. I'm using it for my S22 Ultra.

        • The mag cases aren't recommended for activity/sports like motorbike riding, unfortunately

          • @gfjh567gh3: This is also incorrect, the mag cases work with all mounts, they have the traditional twist-to-lock mechnism as well as the mag.

The mag MOUNTS are not for active use.

            • @akent: Are you sure about that? The mag cases look incredibly flush, compared to the traditional ones with the twist and lock.
I did ask customer service, but they haven't gotten back to me.

              • +3

@gfjh567gh3: Yes, I'm sure, source: I own a Mag case and use it with a normal non-mag mount. Read the link I posted above.

  • Has anyone used the mount with a phone that doesn't have the fitted case?

Thinking about getting their universal phone holder for a motorcycle…

    • +1

Yeah years ago when I first got it. Works well. Used in a car and on bikes. You need a decent flat backed TPU case, and the 3m Mount that comes with it, sticks like a sonofa.

    • Yup all my phones.

My road gravel and MTB all have qd attachments.

Ride blues and Blacks and never just the phone.
Had it pop out once during a crash but pretty sure it's cos I managed to hit the tab as I mangled myself down the hill

  • +13

The upselling on this website is insane. I just want this item and I want to checkout now. FFS

    • +3

It wants me to buy a poncho.

    • +1

I was trying to buy and then all the upselling made me close the window. Just doesn't feel right

  • +1

Necessity is the mother of all invention. Brilliant OP

  • +1

Thanks OP been wanting to try one for a while

  • Can you stack it with the 10% code to join the newsletter?

  • Has anyone used one of the phone mounts for an E scooter?
    Which one would work best?

    • Have used the extensively on bikes not scooters, but I think this would work best (just double check the diameter of the bar)

      https://www.quadlockcase.com.au/products/motorcycle-mount

    • +4

If you use this on an e-scooter you’re going to want to get the vibration thing. The lack of suspension in most e scooters will destroy the camera on any phone that has an inbuilt gimbal.

  • Anyone had experience with this ? How does this compare with spigen tough armor on the iphone 16 pro max?

  • No idea what I need, they have a LOT of options for handlebar mounts. Ideally I just want a pixel 8 case, vibration dampener, and a way to attach it to handlebars. Seems like the 360 kit for this is cheaper than the motorcycle kit? Which is better?

  • -1

I've used quad lock for a while before I found and switched over to peak designs mounts. Found it clearly superior but with a hefty price tag to match..

  • Thanks OP.

Ordered a motorcycle kit, together with the vibration dampener.

    $77 delivered.

    • That’s cheap - I presume you already have the phone case? Also from what I’ve read, the Pro mount is well worth it over the standard mount. Better build quality.

      • No, my phone isn't compatible with any of the cases - this included the universal mag adaptor (to stick / glue to the rear of my phone).

  • +1

I ummed and ahhed same time last year about buying a QuadLock car bundle for my phone to upgrade my cheap, $10 suction cup mount from eBay, but even with the discounts, I couldn't justify the price in the end.
A year later, and my eBay mount is still going strong. I'll umm and ahh again this time round, but I'm almost certain I'll end up sticking with old faithful again.

    • +2

For the car, I think quad lock is probably overkill.

I got a Baseus phone mount, and it's doing great in the car.

      • Agreed. I feel like I need it for a boat though. One hard bump/wave with a cheap holder and my phone is swimming with the fish.

        • +1

Absolutely. For a boat it'd make sense, and this sale is only once a year, so may as well get what you need now.

    • +2

Same here. My supercheap auto vent mount does a great job in a car already lol

    • +1

LOL, I'm doing ummed and ahhed right now too, especially peakdesign casing seems to be a better looks (in my scenario, I'm looking for bike mount for iPhone)….

  • IS the MAG case and pack advisable on an S23 Ultra?

    • +1

I use one for my S22 for my car and bikes and it's working great for me.

  • after a collision, out front mount just not straight anymore, time to replace

  • +1

Cases are great, been rocking them for years and provide solid protection. Anyone who's running a pixel 9 with the ultrasonic fingerprint reader, avoid their tempered glass screen protector. Could not make the thing work at all following a bunch of guides/tricks and had it refunded.

    • agree, never worked on my pixel 9pro xl, they sent me a new 1 + refunded me, 2nd protector never worked either

  • Would this work for the $1 amaysim phone I got the other day?

    • You need 2 parts - the mount AND the bit you attach to the mount eg. the case.
There is a generic sticker thing which you can attach to your phone/case and attach that to the mount.

  • +2

Just a heads up for anyone with a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Quadlock case for the phone has a design flaw whereby the socket on the case doesn't align with the charging coils inside the phone. Thus making this Quadlock case completely useless with both their wireless charging head and their magsafe wireless charging head. It won't charge…

Furthermore, the wireless charging head still "tries" to charge when the phone is mounted, the head ends up being worryingly hot. Like, so hot that you can't hold it for more than a few seconds

Previously a big fan of Quadlock stuff but this is hugely disappointing, especially with their ultra high prices

    • I've recently shifted over to Mous with their Intralock system. I was going Quadlock as I've used them for years…but heard murmurings about the Pixel 9 series devices and thought stuff it I'll try Mous. Go the case, 2x screen protectors and the bike mount for $120 delivered…not cheap by any stretch and their processing of orders is shockingly slow…hoping it will be worth it in the end :)

    • interesting, i have the same phone, but no issues with charging. its been perfect

  • +1

Doesn't seem to be 30% though. Close enough. Thanks for the code.

  • Has anyone tried the pixel 9 pro magsafe case? And does the charging work properly?

  • +1

thanks op. bought a few things!

  • +1

Also on sale at Supercheap Auto. Got a Mag case for my new 16 pro ma for $34.99 in store. Cheaper than from QL by the time shipping is added

  • +2

I've picked up a QL case recently and the two issues I have with their cases are that:

    1) it doesn't have a complete lip around the screen (it has a small lip at the top and bottom of the case but not on the side) so the side edge of the screen actually sits flush with the case.
    2) the case feels very smooth and may be prone to slipping.

I came from a Spigen case which I think is all ways more superior than the QL case when it comes to protection.

QL's locking mechanism is top-notch though.

    • Which Spigen case did you come from?

      • +1

Liquid air. It was sleeker, lighter, had better grip and a higher lip than the QL. I've dropped my phone with the Spigen multiple times and hasn't had any dents, chips or scratches. The one time I dropped my phone with the QL case and it's completely shattered my screen :(

    • Which phone? I've got an iPhone 14 and the lip runs around the entire edge.

      • Samsung S23 Ultra. It might just be the case for this particular phone.

Weird how they won't follow the same design though…

    • I agree with both points. I wish they'd do a collab with Spigen or make better cases because I'm sick of switching between my Tough Armour for everyday use and QL when I'm on the bike. I feel like I can't drop my phone with the QL case and the universal adaptor looks balls.

    • Yeah, their original cases don't appear to have side edge protection, even good cheap ones I buy from aliexpress have this. Not sure if its intentional or maybe they did some study and found majority of the falls landed on the top or bottom? I am going for the universal MAG next time and bringing my own case, however I understand doing so means no wireless charging :/

  • +1

anyone have any experience with the run kit armband, how is it and what is the feeling? Thanks
    https://www.quadlockcase.com.au/collections/shop-run/product…

    • +1

I use one for running with an S24+, works well

  • +1

Thanks! My partner and I have been meaning to get phone mounts for our bikes but hadn't gotten round to looking into it yet. You did the hard work for me :)

  • Quad lock is recalling the battery pack and has generously given $120 store credit for people who chooses that instead of a refund. Great timing to use it in conjunction with the black friday code!

  • +1

The Swedes seem to like them ; ) Thule Group has agreed to acquire phone mount retailer Quad Lock for $500 million…..
