Obviously, it's no coincidence that those are also traits commonly associated with the legendary inspiration for all of our products, the genuine Swiss Army knife. These watches are equally suited for the field or the office, at day or night, like all good commandos they adapt to their environment naturally with quiet confidence. The Commando GMT 74746 features a black dial and stainless steel bracelet.

They are very good watches. I paid about that much for a commando at an airport a few years ago after a watch h collector friend put me onto them. It's a better watch and better value than another overrated Swiss brand I have that shall remain nameless. But that's just my opinion.

  • Just wondering could this watch be swiss movement and assembled in China? I know a few of their other watches are.

    • +1

I'm pretty sure Wenger still makes them in Switzerland

  • $10 shipping for products less than $100

    • BOOOO

its a swiss ronda movt. but for $99 you can bet the whole thing is china parts assembled in switzerland

saying that, $99 is screaming value for a GMT

you wont find a real GMT from any brand for $99

  • These knives seem like a good deal to get the $100+ free shipping
Similar knives can be found in kitchenware shops for $8-$10 each

Correction: This price appears to have been changed to $17.95

Didn;t need one but ordered one anyway. Damn you OzBargain. Will go well with my Bulova Precisionist watch that I also didn't need. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85553

    • Ditto :)

      • If it comes before Christmas it will make a nice Christmas gift :)

It's $99.99 yet they charge $10 shipping because it is less than $100…

EDIT: For those who don't want to pay for shipping then Wenger Key Ring $9.95

  • Hi guys,

I just bought one because I dont want to be taking my Omega to the beach this summer. But really thats just an excuse. I added the twin pack of knives for 9.95 rather than paying the same amount in freight.

Perfect substitute and at 42mm diameter, its a nice sized watch.

    Merry Christmas to all.

    • Kinda disappointed I don't have a lazy 3 grand just to throw at this.

      • And the three extra hands required to use it…

  • Added an aluminium water bottle for $12.95 to get the free shipping. Thanks!

  • I'm going commando right now! Yeah, baby!

  • Just sorta out of topic, what are people's opinion on quartz movement vs automatic? Any preference?

    • prefer auto, but for $99, this will replace my IWC Aquatimer during bike rides.

      • autos are for enthusiasts

would recommend quartz every time for non watch people

and IWC lol… what are you doing on ozbb? i have an Omega and i feel out of place sometimes

        • lol..ozbb's are everywhere… i also have a omega seamaster, but it needs fixing ~$400, so no rush…

  • Guys just got an email stating that they are out of stock, even though I purchased the watch. Not good enough.
This kind of business really turns me off their brand.

Did anyone else get this email?

    • nope, not as yet… fingers crossed

    • I got the email, and as you can see below I spoke to someone at the store, and they were extremely apologetic and helpful in regards to the sale. Yes I know it is annoying that even though we purchased the watch it was out of stock, however, the person I spoke to did give me another offer which I was happy to accept.

He went out of his way to make sure that I was happy as the customer. Which was nice, I even bargained him down on his original offer also.

      • I got an email earlier asking to confirm my delivery address….so it looks all good.

      idiots, wasted my time

        same here

  • Got a shipping confirmation here. Apparently on the way via AusPost.

  • I ended up getting this one - http://www.wenger.com.au/regiment-p-671.asp for $100 lol

    • care to explain how?

      • I sent him an email with a sad face, and he said I could have any of the watches that were not in clearance for half price, so saw that for $275, and asked if he would take $100 for it, he said deal! I don't know much about watches but that one looks good, is there a better one I should go for?

        • That one is also in the clearance category for $138… so now wonder he said you can have one for half price because they already are! And knocking off $38 wasn't too much of a stretch!

          http://www.wenger.com.au/prodetail.asp?pid=671&cle=y

Actually after a bit more looking most of the watches in the non-clearance watch category are in the clearance section!

Here is another example for the Squadron GMT

          Non clearance section - $450
          http://www.wenger.com.au/squadron-gmt-p-597.asp

          Clearance section - $199
          http://www.wenger.com.au/prodetail.asp?pid=597&cle=y

To see if the regular product has a cheaper clearance price do your search in the product categories then take the last 3 digits and replace it in the XXX below

          http://www.wenger.com.au/prodetail.asp?pid=XXX&cle=y

Another random example for the Titanium 2 Swiss Army Knife

          Non clearance section - $179
          http://www.wenger.com.au/titanium-2-p-642.asp

          I put 642 into the above link.. and… $95
          http://www.wenger.com.au/prodetail.asp?pid=642&cle=y

Maybe you should send him an angry duped face!

        • Interesting find, but to me just looks like an inexperienced web backend administrator, or even set up. Either the admin is just hiding the products from the accessible menu and not deactivating them, or it doesn't have the ability to.

Still $40 off clearance is a nice bargain, even though it would have been nice to get the one in the title…

        • Or it's more likely they put the over inflated RRP prices in the product categories so that they can have the rather too frequent half price sales!

It gets to the point where no one would ever pay the RRP price from the website and the real prices are actually the ones in the clearance section!

A bit like buying pots and pans from David Jones and Myer!

  • I have to admit how many of us actually bought it. I hazard a guess less then 10.
I did suggest that he should allow us to purchase our quantity of clearance stock and that would keep the community happy.

Not sure about the response yet but i certainly was not happy about this at all, and i imagine no one else was.
It may be good for companies to make buyers equal even if it was a "web mistake".

I have a bad taste in my mouth now.

  • I just noticed it's now $375. Those who paid $99 for it for a bargain.

    http://www.wenger.com.au/commando-gmt-p-639.asp

  • Just picked up the Alpine for $99 as that's on special now…

    http://www.wenger.com.au/prodetail.asp?pid=543&cle=y

  • Hmm tough choice but ill take it for the $99 thanks. Same situation with the guy who got the silver and gold off the manager for $100 earlier in the thread. $138 in clearance but $275 in the normal section of the website! Bizarre

  • Delivered This morning! (2176) Didn't expected to be that fast, What an impressive service. [From tracking info it was dispatch from Refern]

    • got mine yesterday. bracelet feels and looks cheap (probably made in china). Rest of the watch is ok. but who can complain for $99?

  • Not happy Jan! No email from them - they just refunded the money into my account.

I have emailed asking if they will honour the original sale price when they get more stock or offer a similar deal on other items they do have in stock.
