This is a really really good price for a solid microwave. Nice post op

    • I legit just bought this micro a month ago. I like it but this is such a better price lol

  • +1

What a coincidence, I just bought this a few minutes ago.

  • +1

Thanks guys - I have also bought it and then submit this post :)

  • +4

4% cashback through SB + 8% Westpac or Bank bonus.

Supposedly works fine with price beat, no GC use though.

    • +6

      Are your rhymes bottomless?

    • Regular tracking has come through in ~35 min.

$6.87 which is ~5%, weird. Westpac should come later as per usual.

      Cashback Exclusions

      • Any Price Beat discount amounts or promo code discount amounts that have been applied to the order

The above pretty much confirms price beat is completely fine.

      • Thanks! I trusted your source and went Westpac. :)

        • Westpac just came through, ~2 hours after the regular cashback or ~2.5 hours after buying.

          $13.75 which is ~9.9%.

          How much was yours?

      • My cashrewards cashback come through as $8.59 with purchase anount of 171.82.
        I paid $151 ($12 delivery)

        • Of course, it's calculated with the original (non-price beat) price excluding GST.

Presumably it will recalculate in time.

Price matched with Jb and used 4-10% off gift cards.

wish i needed a new microwave

    • Why not have 2?

  • Does it get hot?

    • +3

      the food? hopefully

  • +4

Do I need two microwaves? Maybe.

  • +2

Ohhhhh, awesome deal. I got one from Amazon at $200 a few days ago and haven’t use it.

Sad for 10 seconds from now :(

  • I think I paid $299 about 6 months ago, very good microwave!

    • Is this stainless steel on the inside? The product pictures don't show it open

      • I think it is some kind of coated metal, it is dark silver colour, same as outside, but not steel afaik. My model number is nn-st665b, silver colour, but it should be same otherwise.

        • Ok thank you!

  • Beside the size being smaller, how does this compare to the LG Neochef?

    • +1

Panasonic has multi-stage cooking, and LG don't have.

Unlike LG, Panasonic won't beep you repeatedly until you open the microwave door.

Panasonic shields better than LG on 2.4GHz waveband.

      • Thanks

      • +1

        Panasonic doesn't rust like LGs.
Panasonic won't blow its magnetron like LGs

        • My Panasonic is rusting in the corners, looks the same model as this one also.

      • JFYI I have an LG neochef and the thing i love most about it is you can disable all beeps.

        • Yes, not even the work is done, i.e., you either have the beep on or no beep at all.

      • +2

That sounds like a feature no one will ever use. I simply put food in and add time 99% of the time.

I've got an LG Neochef - bought it immaculate for $100 on FB marketplace. Frankly it's been the best microwave I've had and love the look of it.

I also love how quiet it is compared to previous microwaves. Time will tell if it lasts, but I didn't pay much so not too worried.

Might try Panasonic next time but don't really like the Panasonic we have at work - I love the slider to add time on the LG.

Excellent microwave, used it for 2 years no issue. Amazing price

    • +4

Got the same microwave for 35 yrs (sanyo).

Other half had this one. I don't like the reflection plate underneath doesn't have a bearing and is difficult to access.

Make sure you give it lots of venting to the sides/ back, or it will burn out premature. These won't go well inside a cabinet.

But uses a standard magnetron. Super easy to access and replace. Just about any is compatable (if you tweak the mount). …not that anyone repairs anything any more..but on the off chance you have a spare 10 minutes, it's doable.

Paid $264 back in Feb for this exact one. Great microwave, got it over the OzBargain classic LG NeoChef in hopes that it'll last forever (being a panasonic). No complaints, good machine.

  • Paid $245 at the start of the year, thank god for price protection.

    • See how your life will change !

  • Thanks OP, got one :)

  • Love this microwave. Had it at home, got one when I moved out and other family members got the same

  • Amazing price

  • Great unit. Got one at full price a while back and going strong.

  • Thank you OP - bought one!

  • Thanks bought one! Had to get delivery as nothing nearby :(

  • Thanks OP

  • Is 32L a standard/good size?

    • I have this model. The turntable is slightly larger than the large dinner plate in our set. So it's fine with me.

  • +1

We have two of these microwaves at work, one for staff and one for manufacturing purposes. We have had them for 6 years and still great condition working perfectly. Amazing price.

  • Just went to buy one, Mrs wanted shiny silver! Ended up buying a samsung non inverter for $133, it'll do and (maybe) last its 2 year warranty!

  • Bought as upgrade from kmart one using from last 3 years

  • +13

Panasonic microwaves have one flaw - you can't press the start button to start heating for 30s or 1 min like all other microwaves.

You have to select a cooking time first with the number keys then press start. May annoy some people, others may not care.

    • +3

Thanks! You saved me from an impulse purchase

      • No worries!

    • +1

It annoyed me at first but you get used to it pretty quickly

      • Yeah I don't mind, but we've got a bunch of them at work and some people hate them because of this.

    • +1

I wonder why they don’t they include it? It’s a great feature. Especially when half asleep in the morning

      • +2

No idea. My Mrs specifically bought a Sharp microwave because of this, so its costing them sales I think.

        • +1

Yeah I got the Sharp too. Very happy with it so far.

      • +1

The touch buttons they use on microwaves are generally very cheap and sometimes if worn or dirty they trigger by themselves

I woke up one night and when I went to the kitchen to get a drink of water, the microwave was going, empty, with 10 minutes on the clock. My first thought was that it was ghosts, and I resolved to build a containment vessel to harness their power so I could use it to keep my phone charged. But then another 30 seconds added, and I realized it wasn't ghosts but just a sticky button.

Microwaves aren't meant to run empty, so potentially it could have caused a fire. But I'm sure its a pretty common issue

    • meh itll stop me from overheating shit and burning my mouth

    • +2

'Panasonic microwaves have one flaw - you can't press the start button to start heating for 30s or 1 min like all other microwaves. You have to select a cooking time first with the number keys then press start'

thanks - that kills it for me - anything that doesn't have one press 30 seconds - I ain't gonna buy

I'm not liking a Sharp (who sold the first home microwaves) microwave I bought - https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/0b041526-f42a-4e78-… - but now I'm used to it, even tho' I liked a Panasonic I saw in a shop, I won't be buying anything without one press 30 second heating.

      • We just bought a Sharp SM327FHS. Super powerful, good interface - can't say anything bad about it

        • I was very happy with it until it burnt out on me within 9 months of usage

    • This one has a “Quick 30” button.

You still need to press start afterwards, but if you want to heat for 30s, you don’t need to key in a time - just press “Quick 30” then Start (the buttons are next to each other, so it’s easy).

Obviously, for a minute or more, you just press “Quick 30” more times.

    • but this one does have the 30s quick heat button

      • Any idea how to select heat for say 10 minutes without pressing 30s multiple times. I can see there is a 10 minute button on the microwave but I can’t seem to select this option.

  • Microwaves have always been so cheap. Maybe a cockroach might survive in a microwave. Maybe a microwave might survive years of a worldwide inflation crisis. I've purchased toasters that are pricier than my microwave ovens I've had over the years.

  • Nice! Just purchased it combining with 5% cashback from Cashrewards, plus CBA's $20 cashback offer when spending $200 (bought another product I was after, totalling just over $200).

I've been using a Kmart microwave I bought secondhand for $20 in 2015… can't believe I'm saying it out loud now. Yep, it was time.

  • Grabbed one, thanks mate :)

You haven't met the air fryer

      • +1

lol. I just got my first air fryer. frozen kransky to perfection in 15 minutes. Mind blowing.
Is it the Teflon and plastic being heated up that people are concerned about?

        • damn straight - lamb loin chops from frozen to air fryer I find stay a nice pink in the middle when crispy outside - if thawed before cooking they'll be well-done in the middle so frozen is the way to go for me

    • That's been proven before , experiment on plant water = 😵‍💫

    • ?

    • how is warming something up in a microwave unhealthy? Genuinely curious

      • It's definitely unhealthy for plant water , so the rest you'll have to figure out.

        • Try pouring hot water into your mouth. You won't like it too.

          • @1cent2much: Wow , I would have thought you'd have worked out the water is cold , come on !

  • +2

Do Panasonic inverter microwaves ramp down their power on high when they start to get warm i.e. after 7-8 minutes of continuous use? This infuriates me on LG inverter microwaves, the fact it gradually gets weaker and weaker as I heat up consecutive leftovers for dinner.

    • I haven't noticed this on ours at work. We've got 3 different Panasonic inverter models, two recent and one about 10 years old.

They all heat well even with multiple consecutive heating sessions.

    Failing at payment, anyone?

    • Yes frustrating cause I just converted 2x $50
      ( card.gift)

      • Worked on laptop thankfully…

        • Agh now the GGs has somehow taken $50 balance of one of my giftcards !

          Fk me :(

    • failed with credit card payment for me but paypal worked

      • Likewise. Also in NSW only Dubbo remaining stock for C&C.. delivery is cheap though

  • +1

Quick look through the specs, 'no sensor' if that's important. I use the sensor vege cook button all the time to cook frozen/fresh veges.

    https://www.panasonic.com/au/consumer/household/microwave-ov…

    • You need to buy a Panasonic with the Genius Sensor and I think that only comes on black colour ones

  • -8

    Y’all still using microwaves?

    • +2

Please share with us new tech that can heat up Chinese takeaways within 2 minutes

  • +3

What's so good about this it's got everyone buying? I have stock standard Kmart one my nan bought me and don't feel like I'm missing anything, although probably just ignorance

    • Have the same one at work and it doesn't even heat evenly. Definitely worse than my 10 year old sharp at home that is still going strong.

      • is this true anyone else?
