How mani GB the graphic card? LOL

    Btw good deal.

    • +1

      Hi kspec,
The graphics card is just the onboard chip, upgrade options are available if you'd like to add one.

    • +1

and….. when looking seek a faster gpu not more ram!

  • +1

Seems pretty decent price, by adding the same CPU + cheapest Mobo (B75 chipset) + ram + HDD + ODD @ pccasegear, it reached $366. Case + PSU added another $59 (better quality CoolerMaster, but that's another matter). So saves about $75 - $80.

Shipping cost is around $15 (distance dependent?) which is very good too.

  • How fast is HDD? Does it have USB on the front of case? Also what write speeds does your DVD burner have?

    • Hi escimojoe,

      HDD = 5400RPM
Case has 2x front panel USB 2.0
DVD burner is 24x speed, dual layer.

Will update post now to include these details.

  • Excellent deal again.

For those who are behind on how awesomely cheap PC gaming is these days:

Throw a $65 HD 6670 in either of these and you have better-than-consoles gaming performace (play all new games, if not at max res/settings).

A $190 HD 7850 will give you almost triple that performance (play all new games beautifully).

A fast, reliable SSD for your boot drive costs less than a dollar a Gig.

    • Im green to SSD for the most part. Whats a good deal/drive to look for with SSD's. Only need approx. 64 gb as a boot drive.

      • Personal preference is the Samsung Extreme 120GB for $99 (sometimes cheaper). I would recommend getting larger than 64GB as a boot drive. My current Windows 7 install which is very bare, not even Office installed, Left4Dead2 is though(priorities :P), is 45GB. Part of this will be the hibernation file, but its very easy to fill a 60gb SSD.

      • 64 gb are cheaper, but good brands are more than $1 per gig (still less than $100 though).

Samsung 830, Crucial M4, and Intel are considered reliable and fast.

    • Will the psu allow a 7850 to be installed? Might pick up the i5 package if possible.

      • -1

99% chance not. We can arrange an upgrade to a 1200W Force PSU for $40 extra if you like, this will definately support a 2GB HD7850 video card.

      • +1

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! Do not go with a 1200W PSU (!?!?). Those are only for overclocked multi-GPU type setups, and can't power normal setups without a lot of waste. Probably triple your peak usage.

HD 7850 is new tech, not power hungry at all. AMD says 500W is fine; with PSUs, reliable brand and 12V rail are more important, see here:

"For those who are behind on how awesomely cheap PC gaming is these days"

But how much do the games cost?

      • +2

Much cheaper. Its very rare that I pay more than $20 for a game these days. See how many PC game deals there are on OzB, you can pick up games for a few bones that cost way more on consoles.

No region lockout. No platform royalties to Sony or Microsoft. Digital downloads, basically everything conspires to make PC gaming much cheaper than consoles.

The only issue is that you will be required to apply patches and various workarounds to resolve issues from time to time, and more frequently than on consoles. Not really that frustrating for me, but some people hate it.

      • +1

Much, much cheaper than consoles, currently, thanks mostly to Steam sales (and Amazon and a few others).

First 75% off steam sale happens within about 3-12 months of release for most games.

I honestly almost never pay more than $5, even for AAA titles, myself. I've bought way more than I could ever play in the sales.

  • Hi Rep,
Can you install win7 on these machine, but leave it as trial?
I want to use my University's DreamSpark to activate it :)

    • Why would it be any different to any other machine in that regard? If your university is a subscriber to Dreamspark Premium, then you should be able to take advantage of that service, but either way you need to speak to your school rather than asking the rep.

      • Yea I well aware I can. But I'm lazy to install the os and drivers myself. Though thanks for your concern

    • Hi Wakkawalla,

we can install a 30 day trial version of windows on the PC + all drivers, however a $25 service fee will apply as the advertised $110 includes the service fee for installation too.

If you're happy to proceed shoot us an email and we can finalise your order.

      • Thanks Rep, but I would rather save myself 25. Guess I Will have to wait 40… Still better than my wage!

  • +1

OP can you please elaborate how RTB warranty would work? Especially interstate. Cheers.

    • +1

Return to base - requires customer to arrange drop off and pick up of PC for warranty repairs. All interstate orders are double checked with a 2hr stress test via "Burn In Test" to ensure they leave in 100% working order.

If it does break down during warranty it will be unfortunate for interstate customers as you are required to pay for the freight to and from our service centre. 3 year warranty extensions (+2 years, 3 total) which include courier pick up + return are available for $150, which extends your warranty to 3 years total and includes courier pick up and return making it easier too.

      • +1

Thanks OP. Need to seriously consider about warranty then for interstate customers.

For the i5, is the 8GB ram one stick or two?

        • Single stick. And it has been considered, our warranty is the same as any other PC retailer who builds their own PC's. If you like the warranty pack is there to remedy your concern which also includes the pick up and return courier.

        • +1

Can I get another stick of 8GB if I don't want the HDD (for the i5)?

        • +1

sure, happy to do that for you.

  • Hmmm, interesting.

  • Removed by user.

  • The i5 3470 is only a 3.2ghz processor

    • With turbo up to 3.6GHz :D when you need the 3.6GHz, it's there automatically. The cut down 3.2GHz is a power/heat saving feature really so the CPU doesn't need to be working at 100% on minimal applications.

  • well it's not a $199 netbook :P

  • hi rep, any good deal on ultrabook?

    • Seeing what's on the market Andyken. We have 1x Dell XPS Ultrabook still available however this is the display model. These are on clearance for $690. Would you like me to contact you when we get more available?

  • +1

Great deal, better than an HP microserver!

  • Hi Vision Tech, for the - 3rd Gen i5 Quad Core PC - $360 what's the best graphics card plus operating systems you can install on this set up and keep it under $500?

    Thanks

  • Or would I be better getting the - Dual Core PC - $199 and chucking a graphics card in there. Just to run games on low settings for my little bro.

    • Well the windows O/S is $110, leaving us $30 for a GFX card.. I can provide a nVidia GT210 for this price, which truthfully is nothing flash. You'd be playing most games on low/medium GFX settings with this card. If you could squeeze the budget to $550 I can include an ATI HD6670 2GB video card instead which would give you okay performance for a $550 gaming PC.

  • Nice prices :-)
