  • Thought it was for OO but then realised HN would never discount relatively cheap products.

  • +1

    minimum purchase?

  • I think the HN site is crashing? Anyone else having problems?

    • OzBargained!

  • Yeah the sight is crashing for me

    • +18

my site is good, i can sea clearly now.

      • Your not making cents.

        • +3

          ur're*

  • Cool, so covers postage then?

  • Working fine for me.

    • +1

The main site is okay, but the cart is giving error page.

      • Oh OK I didn't try adding anything to the cart.

  • Site crashes for me and when it does load, it doesnt add anything to the cart. Add item just takes me to an empty cart.

    • Getting the same thing

    • Site is loading okay for me at the moment, but yeah, I can't add anything to my cart, either.

  • yeah adding things to the cart is like a backwards Fail-athlon

  • use firefox

    • +5

uhh, i am. Firefox doesn't fix ozbargainism

  • +2

to be honest OzB is running like crap at my end too, graphics not loading properly, constantly refreshing

    • I have been having that issue too - I thought my connection was flaking, but most other sites (except HN) are working normally

      • +4

        may be ozbargain got ozbargained?

  • +1

Wow they have not learnt their lesson from Click Frenzy.

  • what's something useful that costs < $5?

    • +2

you'll use $5 of internet and electricity at this stage to try and get their checkout to work

  • Whatever i buy, the shopping cart stays empty.

    • Same here, it just loads for a while then it says Shopping Cart Empty

      • same!

  • +3

never buying from HN online again

    • I wouldn't touch them at the moment either. Their phones have been ringing out unanswered for a week for online sales queries. Been trying to get $400 refunded for nearly a month that they charged my card for after I cancelled an order.

      • They are absolutely hopeless. Took them over 4 weeks to send the game I ordered. They dont pick up their phones and they rarely respond to emails and always give you the run around but are quite happy to hold onto your money.

        • Gerry Harvey just hates online. It doesn't suit his business model.

        • Yet I get two copies of the same game. its crazy

  • This would make the Apple TV really good value at $92.

    • +15

LOL @ using the words "apple" and "value" in one sentence

      • +10

        Let me try:

One of Apple's core value is making billions of dollars on overpriced electronics.

Can't add items to cart = fail.

  • +1

    WORKING!!!

    • Thanks for pointing this out.

  • +1

working, to a degee… I can't get past the 'place order' page… select 'no payment required' and the 'place order' icon disappears! No way to place the actual order. Tried paypal and cc with nil amounts but it errors out…

  • The Hoya UV Filter isn't a bad price ($29 pickup) for a local product:

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/hoya-filter-52mm-hmc-uv-stand…

  • they ask for credit card and no where to enter voucher code .

    • click on 'enter promotional code' - a pop-up appears, whack the code in there.

then (theoretically, select 'no payment required', and click 'place order'.

(but it doesn't work for me - changing browsers now…)

    • When on the cart page it has a link which says use promo code which brings a pop up screen

    • ps at the cart, not at the checkout.

  • +1

get the packets of batteries :P

    • +1

      yes, paid $1 for a 12 pack of AA's

  • it removes the 'place order' button if you try to get something under $5

    • same here (see above). Tried IE, chrome, firefox - all same.

      HN checkout FAIL!

    • yea mine is gone

  • +4

Wasnt working for me when I had items of less than $5, but I ended up getting 12 batteries for $1. Happy. ;-)

  • So should I update the post to state Min Order = $5?

    • minimum would need to be $5.01

    • Yep, minimum order seems to be $6. (or $5.01 if you want to be technical)…

Based on what I can find, nothing seems to be in less than increments of $1.

  • All good now. As reported, minimun order value above $5 required.

    Got myself some batteries :)

  • Please wait processing your order.

Edit: used firefox and all went ok. Thanks OP

  • Would this work with the iTunes 2x$20 for $30 bundle?

    • +3

Absolutely! Just tried it, got through to checkout - should work fine!

    • Too bad it wasn't for the Buy one get one free.

  • Thanks OP! Bought myself some batteries as well.

  • +3

great just got Map coffee machine for $44 - happy christmas ME:)

    • +15

I think you're forgetting what site you just posted on….

      • Lol, no wonder they stay in business

    • positive votes say otherwise, as do the negative votes to your comments.

      • There you go, what does this mean lol

  • Thanks OP, some AA coming my way.

  • Also got the 12 batteries for $1! Cheers op!

  • Code doesn't work anymore. OZBed

    • My mistake. The code still works okay if I'm not logged in.

  • Nice find. Map coffee capsules for $1.50 is good too

    Edit:
I've just ordered 5x 1 pack of Map coffee capsules for $1.50 each
    ;-)

Is anyone else getting: "Your transaction was blocked due to Risk or 3D Secure blocking rules"

I've tried two credit cards and a debit card

Appears to me they are trying to kill the ozbargaining that's happening. NEG for mine

    • have you tried paying via paypal? i imagine they would encounter a fair bit of credit card fraud

    • +1

Gerry Harvey is making you work hard for it

    • Code is still valid, no point to neg it. Just try another way to pay.

  • got the batteries, thnx OP

  • +1

    thx, got 2 x 12 AA for $2 :)

  • Is it $5 per item? Or per order?

    And they charge delivery yeah?

Can you do multiple orders and get the offer for each?

    • Multiple uses work for me.

    • $5 off per order.

Delivery will depend if it has free delivery or not.

Yes you can do multiple orders.

  • +12

i tried to use the code to buy a $10 gift card. gift cards are free delivery and with the voucher it is 50% off.
omg, i can't believed it actually worked!

now, i have to do this 100 times.

    • -5

I've just done some $5 gift cards too lol

      • How do you pay if total is $0?

        • I'm wondering this too. I get:

"INVALID_REQUEST: Parameter 'transaction.amount' value '0.00' is invalid. value: AUD 0.00 - reason: Transaction or order amount must be greater than zero"

There's a "No payment required" option in the field, but the Place order button disappears when that's selected.
