What did you dislike? I've yet to try.
Full polyester.. swish swish .. and the feel is bleech.
Plus all the microplastics from polyester shedding
Funny you should say that.
They kept coming up on reviews for great pants for travelling, due to their anti wrinkle, light weight, etc…
What do you think about them, not as an e everyday use at home base, and more for nomadic lifestyling?
niqlo Malaysia: Users praise the pants for being "incredibly lightweight," with one noting they are "perfect for long wear without discomfort." The stretch and flexibility are also highlighted, making them suitable for both casual and semi-formal settings.
UNIQLO
Uniqlo Philippines: A reviewer mentions, "I never expected how good and comfy the Miracle Air Pants. It was very comfortable to wear and you can move freely. The light feeling makes it more satisfying."
UNIQLO
Uniqlo Vietnam: Feedback includes comments like "Comfortable material, easy to match, easy to dry after wash," and "Good cutting and cool fabric, it provides flexibility."
Curious. Do you think these reviews are genuine, or bot produced?
Uniqlo Australia: One user states, "Quite impressed with this light, stretchy and comfortable pant… suitable for both work and social outings." Another notes, "Extremely stretchy and cool during the hot summer days; only downside is the material a bit abrasive and could be softer."
Uniqlo Singapore: A reviewer describes them as "Nice cutting and comfortable material to be worn in Singapore weather. Happy with my purchase."
@FredAstair: Those reviews are accurate.
If you want lightweight, smart looking trousers for a backpacking trip around a tropical country (a good "use case" for these), these are worth taking a look at.
It's gonna be subjective though. Some people are always going to prefer the look or feel of natural fabrics like linen or cotton over synthetics.
I love this description, told me everything i need to know to not buy, thanks pw
and upvoted them massively without bother to comment.
I am not a big fan of the miracle line too.
Yeah 100% polyester - these seem a bit weird, like they're trying to dress up gym pants.
probably trying to compete with Lululemon ABC pants
this kind of ultra lightweight polyestery dress pant is actually very common in japanese menswear and makes a lot more sense for uniqlo to be selling in that market (almost everyone still wears long pants in summer), if anything i think it's just a style that's less well suited to our activewear-heavy summer fashion sense in australia
@mediamascot: Officewear for australia
@mediamascot: It's more about the humidity. We can get away with thin shirts here, to keep us cool on hot days.
But over there you WILL sweat buckets, so clothes need to manage sweat, not avoid it. Thin shirts will look like you've been swimming in them.
So the airism stuff actually helps cool down a lot. Even casual guys in shorts will often wear an airism underlay with a thick tshirt.
I kinda miss my lightweight summer suits from working in Japan. They were super lightweight and breezy.
@crentist: People in Japan are such heavy users of plastic and there seems to be little interest in reducing use and manufacture. Also hardly any recycling, just burn everything. A strange attitude from my personal perspective.
@bargainshooter: Yeah it’s weird going to countries where there’s been zero shift to ending the use of single use plastic etc
@1st-Amendment: All the things that go into your bag use single use plastics? Weird, a lot of products I buy also come in recyclable or compostable packaging
There’s been a trend of replacing single use packaging with recyclable packaging - Mars and Snickers being a recent example. There’s still a long way to go, but it’s a trend nonetheless
I disagree with your assessment that because one thing is reusable but not another, the whole exercise is virtue signalling. Multiple problems are seldom solved at the same time, so your conclusion is illogical. And so on this point:
you should hear them when they come here and laugh at us for buying into the biggest scam going. 'Wait you aren't allowed to put your plastic packaging into a plastic bag because why exactly'?
Let em laugh. They don’t sound very smart
Weird, a lot of products I buy also come in recyclable or compostable packaging
Let me check my last shopping list:
Weetbix
Milk
Sultanas
Bread
Soda Water
Peanut butter
Shower Gel
Razors
Various meats
Fruit and veges
Nuts
Yep every single item I bought uses single use plastics except the shopping bag. Which ironically is not single use for me because I used to keep my shopping bags and re-use them as rubbish bags. Now I have to buy single use plastic rubbish bags so the net plastic bags consumed by me is the same as before except it's now more expensive.
That is the virtue signalling. It sounds like the you're doing something noble when in fact nothing really changed, except now things are more expensive.
Multiple problems are seldom solved at the same time, so your conclusion is illogical.
That isn't a logical argument…
Let em laugh. They don’t sound very smart
Why would they care what the opinion is of someone who so obviously is a sucker for virtue signalling scams?
@1st-Amendment: You’re still missing the point and I don’t have the time to explain in terms simple enough for you to wrap your head around tbh
I don’t have the time to explain
Of course not. That is what happens when virtue signalling is confronted with cold hard facts…
@1st-Amendment: Nah, not what’s happening. Here’s a fact though: you’re wrong
Here’s a fact though: you’re wrong
Ah the good old toddler defence: 'Is not!' Well how about this for a comeback, 'Is too!' Ah see I got you there!
But seriously you've sold me, you're right because you said so. That is how truth works. You say it so it's true! The kooky logic of every virtue signaller ever right there.
None of my shopping really comes in plastic, I buy my milk and soda water out of a paper bag too! The butcher gives me meat in a container made of unicorn farts. You really are so clever, you got me….
@1st-Amendment: Perhaps you can appreciate that shopping bags are very frequently littered? I definitely feel like curbs and parks etc have a lot less floating plastic rubbish now than when plastic shopping bags were common. I believe littering is much less of an issue in Japan where people are much more rule-following than here. So there's a possible reason paper bags are of value.
I definitely feel…
I'm sure you do… that is precisely how virtue signalling works. Imagine if our public policy was driven more by facts than feelings how much better things would be…
@crentist: With respect to humidity, it's been oscillating between 80% and 99% in NSW where I am right now and 70% inside with dehumidifiers running. What kind of humidity did you experience in Japan when you were there?
@bargainshooter: High relative humidity isn't necessarily an indicator of comfort level.
These aren't pants.
These are trousers.
I came here for the pants!
These are polyester, not great. Cotton, linen or other natural material clothing is so much better for you and the environment.
Cooler, doesn't stink when you get sweaty, no microplastics, biodegradable.
I've had these before and they just feel out of place everywhere too. A weird inbetween of gym pants and office wear that feels wrong in both settings.
Their ankle pants are much better if you want pants you can wear to both gym and office.
Why so many up votes when all comments are so bad? Does anyone find these good quality, value, comfy or something?
not all comments here are bad.
they are good as smart casual officewear during hot summer days. they dry quickly.
Surely chinos are better
Ok, despite the general consensus of many people here, I personally find the, great for my uses. I have had to work in a hot and humid country and these hold up really well. I have three pairs that I rotate between and theyre comfy, cooling, and looks decent. Yes, they’re not the comfiest, most breathable, nor the most professional looking, but for my particular circumstances, it was the only one that fits the bill. I have matching jackets with the pants too, so great for looking professional without being uncomfortable in humid weather.
I considered the Lululemon abc pants before stumbling upon these and I’m glad I spent 1/3 the price on these.
Does the sweat stains show up on this material?
These are some of the worst pants I've ever tried by Uniqlo, the material just doesn't feel right on he skin.
But it's Uniqlo so it's on the front page….
It seems a miracle to me that Uniqlo is able to promote polyester (cheaper) pants as some kind of luxury …
Having tried these, the only miracle is that people would buy them.
